I visited here on a Sunday for a quick lunch. The interior is really cute. It’s a small space with a counter where you order food, the menu on a chalk board, and a couple of tables + a counter where you can sit. It’s clean and cozy. I had the Lemongrass Chicken sandwich which I would definitely recommend. The bread is crunch, chewy and delicious. The salad inside is flavorful(and very peppery, which I love but some might not), and the chicken was well flavored and soft. It was on the spicy side, be warned. I took the jalapenos out. I would definitely get the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. I thought it was awesome. Not too sweet, strong coffee flavor, well crushed ice, and a good coffee to ice ratio. My friend ordered the beef Phở. It was quite peppery, but not bad for the price. Large portion, too. The meat was shredded and the noodles were very well cooked(not too soft, not too chewy). It’s not the best Phở I’ve had, but it’s decent and at least has flavor.

I love their Lemongrass Chicken banh mi! Their beef phở and lychee lemonade is also very yummy! I’ve already gone back several times. One time they did make a mistake of giving me lemongrass tofu instead of chicken but they fixed that without free of charge. They were very nice about it.

I love this place– their banh mi is very very good(lemongrass chicken sandwich) and the phở I got was also very good. I like this place a lot for their phở.

Decent place, and a HUGE array of Macaroons! OMG! Every type you could ever imagine made here, the phở is good, but the sandwhiches are what to eat here. They are delicious, make sure you try to get two different ones and just trade because it’s awesome. The proportions are generous as well, it can take a few days to finish a sandwhich. Well worth the trip and decently priced, there are multiple locations so that should tell you something!

I was very excited to get some phở. Unfortunately this place was disappointing. Their broth is ok, not very meaty and not authentic for sure. Its also very spicy, even my hubby had some water, and he loves spicy food. They add peppers, sprouts into the phở, unlike the traditional protocol of offering those along side the dish. The service was nice, the place itself is quite tiny, very few spots to sit in. I did notice that most people ordered a banh me sandwich to go. Wont be back

what a great deal. The best Banh mi sandwiches in town. I been there couple times, food came out fresh and fast. I always order bbq pork Banh mi and beef Phở. With that price in Belmont area, what a great deal. They recently promo the spicy fish ball, sometimes they send free simple to customers to try out! I will go back more often for sure

First time having Vietnamese food. Yum, I’ll definitely be back to try the sandwitches. The Phở soup was delicious and huge, well worth the money. The spring rolls with bbq pork were also great, especially with the peanut sauce on the side. Just writting this makes me want to eat more.

My boyfriend and I decided to come here for a quick Tuesday lunch. We ordered the spring rolls, a pork banh mi and phở. The pricing is reasonable and the food was decent. I don’t eat Vietnamese food often enough to have an actual scale in terms of what’s phenomenal and what’s not good. I enjoyed the food here which is what warrants the 3 stars. I’ll probably come again if I have a craving for banh mi since this is relatively close to my place.

Walked in to the store and was immediately welcomed by a cheerful woman at the counter. A perfectly cute, cozy shop for a nice bowl of phở. Lychee lemonade is a definite recommend! I was feeling a bit under the weather and the vitamin C definitely gave me a boost! You can get better phở in argyle but if you’re around the Belmont strip for coffee and work, it’s a great option to stop by. Most customers I have seen seemed to take their orders to go.

Just as it started snowing I spotted this Vietnamese café and tucked in for a bowl of hot soup. There’s beautiful photographs on the wall and keys from different hotels… It brought me back to Vietnam :) The staff was so sweet and when Teddy walked in he was holding a tray of coffees for his employees and even offered me one. The combination of a heartwarming Phở Ga & kindness made a very cold, grey day sunnier. Thank you Teddy & staff :) !!

My biggest problem with Banh Mi BaGet is that I can never decide between a sandwich or phở! The banh mi sandwiches are great — I suggest the bbq pork. Can’t go wrong with their shrimp spring rolls either. The phở is also great, and is a huge serving! You’ll get at least three bowls out of it – enough for lunch the next day. This is my go-to spot for delivery and take-out, but there is also counter seating and outdoor seating in the summer.

My sandwich was delicious! Perfectly toasted and hit the spot! Had the lychee lemonade. I highly recommend it. Eager to try other menu items. Everyone in Lakeview raves about this.

I visit this place at least once a week, and usually order a large Chicken + Rice Noodle soup. Amazing, flavorful broth, for a great price. Their Phở is good, but there are better options in the area.

Was a little disappointed today. I used to go there all the time but I moved out of hood however, I decided to go today and I was completely surprised. It looked like a corporate fast food chain! The inside looked so commercial and not authentic! The portions were COMPLETELYSMALL and the guy behind the counter could care less what I ordered! He charged me twice then said he was sorry and didn’t bother to void one. I went back to counter and asked if he voided and could I have a receipt and he said oh ya, then he voided! It definitely has changed! Gave three because the flavor was still there!

Excellent meatball sandwich. The meatball combo is my go to lunch option. The only reason I can’t give it 5 stars is inconsistent preparation — sometimes lots of jalapenos, sometimes hardly any. Sometimes lots of sauce, sometimes almost none. Still, an excellent tasting sandwich.

First the food. I had a Saigon classic and Phở. Flavor was ok. The broth needs some work. It is way to cloudy. The broth in Phở should be no different than a finely made consommé, rich in depth and absolutely grunge free. This was mediocre. The noodles were not bad, but thinner than I would like. The brisket was old and dry. The sandwich was fair. At least they added jalapenos without fear of killing the poor white guy. The baguette was toasted too much. Staff. Well give me service or give me good food. That was strike 2. You’re one and done thank you very much.

Suddenly decided to have some Vietnamese food when I was passing by this place on Sunday. I used to have phở every time I visit Vietnamese restaurants, but this time I tried banh mi which means sandwich and is also the name of the restaurant. I order the sandwich with grill beef and different kinds of vegetables, it was good, the bread was crispy after toast, vegetables are fresh, and the meat was just the right amount, so it won’t be too rich to me, cause I don’t like having sandwich with full mouth of meat, lol. I am going to try to famous classical sandwich next time :)

When i saw the amount of good reviews this place had on Unilocal i was convinced. and i really felt like Phở after a visit in a cinema. how disappointed i was. maybe it was a mistake to just go for the Phở and not the sandwich? i don’t know. first of all the service, there is a little Bar inside where you can sit and look through the window, and outside are a couple of tables and chairs, they were set up so tight next to each other that you could not pass so i opted for the inside. i ordered at the bar, no hello nothing, the guy just said«to go, right’? ah, no not to go for here… i almost felt like im a nuisance? they all spoke spanish behind the counter, not very assuring in a vietnamese place? i ordered Phở with beef(there were only two options, beef or chicken) and two vegan spring rolls with seitan. the food came lighting fast i hardly had time to sit down and check in. i didnt order a drink because i kind of thought there would be water with it? no, no water… nobody asked me if i want a drink either. everything was already in the Phở, the basil, the lime the jalapeño, the sprouts. it was completely tasteless. like water with stuff in it. there was hosin sauce and hot sauce to try to make up for the lack of taste but its just not the same if you have to put everything in later and its not cooked with any spices. the worst was the silver wear. of should i say plastic wear? i mean i m used to deal with a plastic spoon, but this? just embarrassing guys, how much are the spoons in asian stores, 50 cent? these were so thin and flimsy it was just sad. the spring rolls came on a styrofoam plate. awesome ! there goes the environment… i was disappointed and i m not going to be back, there is so much good food around here…

My favorite banh mi place. Love grabbing a quick bite and sitting at the patio. I usually get the grilled beef spring roll and lemongrass chicken sandwich or rice noodle salad with bbq pork.

Surprisingly, pretty darn amazing! I am a vegan and had never had a good banh mi sandwich before this place. Every place I had gone to for banh mi served dry, boring vegan sandwiches and I sort of gave up on the whole bit. On a whim I decided to give Banh Mi BaGet a shot, and holy Jesus was I impressed! My dining partner decided to try several things given the options and the newness of the place. He ordered a meat sandwich and the papaya noodle salad with lemongrass tofu — he loved the sandwich but wasn’t so impressed by the noodle salad. I ordered the veggie spring rolls and the vegan banh mi sandwich — I LOVED the sandwich and really liked the spring rolls(though the rolls could have used more lettuce). Further to my point on my sandwich, I came prepared this time with my own vegan mayonnaise in hand(to use in place of the non vegan mayonnaise, and to combat dry sandwiches); the sandwich was so good it didn’t even need the vegan mayo. I will be eating here regularly going forward! So good!

Growing up in Southern CA, I had plenty of choices to choose from when it comes to Vietnamese Sandwiches and Phở. After moving in to the neighborhood, I was very excited to see that we had a Banh Mi and Phở shop all in one — so I decided to try them out on two different occasions. The first visit, I had their Saigon Classic Special Sandwich. I was hoping for a «robust» flavor sandwich but sadly disappointed in terms of the ingredients. The meat was a little on the bland side, while the baguette was not crunchy, but instead, a little on the softer side — which is not how a Vietnamese Sandwich should be served. On the second visit, I tried their Traditional Vietnamese Phở. This time around, I was hoping for some real good tasting Phở but unfortunately, I was left disappointed. The broth tasted more like beef broth from a can than homemade broth, while the beef was bland and flavorless. This is not how Phở should be, so sadly, I can not recommend their Phở either.

Reality did not meet expectation. I was very surprised and disappointed to come to a 4star Unilocal reviewed restaurant and find the good barely edible. We got the classic bahn mi and the noodle salad with BBQ pork. The only redeemable part was the bread but all of the other ingredients felt cheap. It felt like a ton of American substitutions where the Vietnamese ingredient was key.

It’s more of a take out than a sitting restaurant. There are only four seats … But the staff are attentive and friendly … There are many people who came in and out picking out their orders. We had the traditional phở. Taste is great. Noodles are perfect … But they combined all the vegetable including the jalapeño to the soup making us fishing it out of our soup bowl … Just to remind the staff next time to just separate the veggies…

Best thing on the menu were the sandwiches– BBQ pork. I had the papaya salad and it was so bland. So was the shrimp spring rolls, very bland.

I’ve been wanting to try Bánh Mì for some time, but there was always something deterring me from doing so. It could be a horrible memory of an over-fiery Phở. It could be memories of my father(who was a Marine in Vietnam) putting ketchup in white rice to make it more what he «had in Khe Sanh.» It tasted worse than you can imagine. I looked at the reviews of this place, some good, some bad but they all seemed fair. Today, which is easily the coldest day of the year, I figured I’d give it a shot. If it was too hot, it would warm me up for my return trip home. It wasn’t and BOY am I glad I made the decision to go! I kept it simple and got the BBQ Pork Bánh Mì. The first thing I noticed was the bread. It’s a baguette, but soft inside with a thin, crispy crust that has the right amount of rigidity, but gave so you’re not fighting with the sandwich. The combination of cucumber, shaved carrot, jalapeño and a mild, pickled daikon perfectly balanced out the BBQ pork. Even the cilantro worked — and I don’t like cilantro! The spiciness was well balanced, too — it just stayed on your lips somehow. No burning tongue, no watery eyes, just the right amount of heat to let you know it’s there, but doesn’t overwhelm. Delicious. Since this is my first Bánh Mì, I am by no means an expert and these may not be the most authentic(according to some reviewers), but as a fan of food who’s also had some culinary training, I can tell you that the quality and creativity in these sandwiches are just amazing. When I go to a sandwich shop alone, often eat a little on the fast side. For some reason I don’t like dining out alone. After one bite of this, nothing else mattered. It made me slow down and savor every bite. If you’re new to Bánh Mì as I am, this is definitely a great place to start. I will now try others, then come back here to see how they stack up, but for now this place is aces! Sorry Jersey Mikes, Potbelly, Jimmy Johns, etc… I’ve moved on.
