I’m so disappointed and had high hopes because of the high ratings… I really wanted this place to be my go-to Viet place. Michelle(who I’m not sure if she owns or works here) is a saint. As I sat in the little restaurant eating, Michelle offered a free meal to a lady who was hungry. Apparently this lady comes occasionally for a free meal. Unfortunately, I’m still disappointed in the food. I think because the recipes are more health-conscious than traditional Viet recipes, it takes away the flavor… But at least it’s healthier, right? I can’t speak for the Phở, but I’ve heard from two palate-reliable friends that there is less flavor than they expected. I did have the Lemongrass Banh Mi(sandwich) and was not a fan. This place is also pricier than I expected, but I suppose it’s because of the location. I might try another Banh Mi flavor at BB bun mi express, but will not be ordering the lemongrass again.

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside, but it’s super cute on the inside and well taken care of. Had a curry chicken sandwich, perfect amount of chicken and bread + toppings. They have sauces on the table to use as you wish. Will definitely come back to try the phở, it looks delicious. Great spot for a quick lunch.

Went in for a quick Sunday lunch around 12:30 and the place was totally empty. I got a sandwich with lemon chicken. The sandwich is pretty big, but there isn’t a lot of meat inside. The bread is really good though, and all the ingredients tasted fresh. I would for sure go back. Perfect place for a fast lunch.

So happy this place is open again, and it’s the same lady! They were closed for awhile and the sign said it was for training purposes, so I was concerned as to what I would find when it reopened. However, all my fears have been relieved. I live pretty much across the street and cone here about once a week. The lady who owns it is always so friendly and takes good care of me. We have tried most items on the menu at this point, and everything is always fresh and delicious. My go-to is the phở. No matter what you order there is always plenty of food.

Good food and friendly owner who never forgets a face! Lemongrass chicken is yummie! The other place with a similar name is no good! Come here!

Came here for lunch while I was briefly working down the street. A great place for a quick bite of Vietnamese food. Wasn’t expecting too much. Had the bahn mi, I was impressed. The place is quiet and clean. Must try.

From Boston, traveled throughout Midwest and east coast for last 6 years and have tried lots of PHO. Great place! BUT if eating phở be sure to ask for jalapeños. SHREDDED chicken sand which is also great.

I am a big Phở lover, so I thought I try this Vietnamese restaurant in boys town. I ordered the Phở Dac Biet which came with steak, beef flank, and meatball combo. Surprisingly this is one of the best Phở shops I’ve ever experienced. The food is healthy and delicious(no transfat, etc) and very fresh ingredients. The quality of meat is also very fresh and tender. This place is operated by a woman who cooks all the food in the back room. She is amazing at service and the meal was prepared relatively quickly. She runs a very clean shop.

The food was mediocre. No soy sauce or fish sauce at the table. Had to order at the register and the cashier was not knowledgeable about their push menu or cuisine. The food is extremely over priced and they only offer one phở size. They also have no Thai tea and if you ask for water you have to get it yourself and offer no ice. I am kinda disappointed and was looking forward to it since we are visiting from Atlanta.

What a delicious supper consisting of lovingly prepared veggie tofu spring rolls with peanut sauce and a curry chicken sandwich. The spring rolls were a wonderful mosaic of flavor, with pickles, jalapeños, tofu, and other ingredients. They were made freshly and presented beautifully with some chili sauce. Texture was perfect. The sandwich was also very nice, with soft bread, flavorful ingredients and an appropriate portion size. The atmosphere was quiet, with no music and only a few customers, which was pleasant at the end of a long day. Comfort food.

Came in for something warm on a snowy Chicago afternoon. This small quaint place was nice and warm just as needed. Tried a curry chicken sandwich and Phở which was just perfection. I can tell this was a fresh recipe. Everything was so tasty. I’ll def be back.

I came here thinking they are open after 9pm. Arrived at the door at 9:15 pm. I was really frustrated that they closed at 9. Then the owner saw me. She opened the store for me. She is a very nice Vietnamese lady .she took my order and opened the kitchen just to accommodate me … I love this store.

Very casual dining. We sat by the window on stools that looked out to Starbucks. That in itself is entertaining people watching while your eating. I had the BBQ pork sandwich which was delicious. Fresh veggies with Asian style sliced BBQ pork. Crunchy fresh roll. There are two. I was good eating just one and taking the second home. My daughter had Beef Combo Phở(noodle soup). She has Phở often and said the flavor of the broth is the Best she has ever had. From the looks of her I’d guess she was feeling a little under the weather from the night before and she was much happier after that magical bowl of Phở-soup.

The best phở I’ve ever eaten!!! Your body will love you after this place. The ingredients are fresh they cook the broth fresh with lots of vegetables. No MSG! And oh so good!!! I am stunned at how good this was. They care about the quality of the food here. I’m coming back for more! I can’t say enough good things about it!

Lemon grass tofu banh mi — great idea but it was a tad salty and not as toasted as I hoped for. I loved that they have a tofu banh mi but everything seemed off about this sandwich; the shredded carrots weren’t thinly shredded, the usual sauce smothered on both sides of the bread was off the usual taste and everything was just so strange.

Not a bad spot for a sandwich and a Bubble Tea. My date and I got two different sandwiches that ended up looking exactly the same so I wouldn’t bank on getting anything that really knocks your socks off.

The lady that works at the counter was very friendly and cheerful. My friend and I both ordered beef phở and I also got the shrimp spring rolls. The food came out quickly and my friend and I devoured it all. It was a rainy day and we were out drinking the night before so we may be a little bias but the phở was just perfect for us that day. Good job BB Express!

Saturday afternoon I didn’t feel like preparing anything and wanted something nearby. I’ve passed by numerous times but never thought about going in until today. Small, clean spot on Broadway with outdoor seating. I ordered curry chicken sandwich and a Pepsi. First of all the bread is fantastic, I think its french bread. Its warm, chewy and just enough bread/filling ratio. The chicken is all-white meat, great curry flavor and not overwhelming. Also on the sandwich are cucumber, pickled carrots and daikon(radish), cilantro, 4 thin jalapeño slices and mayo. Everything works, just enough crunch from veggies, acid from pickled veggies, heat from jalapeño and vibrance from cilantro. As I consumed my sandwich, several people ordered the curry chicken sandwich. Seems quite popular. On the way out I ordered the spring rolls to go. 2 rice paper rolls filled with lettuce, noodles, 4 shrimp per roll, and mint. Also comes with peanut dipping sauce. Very tasty. I’ll definitely be back to try the other sandwich variations. Ps they are also BYOB.

For $ 5.75 and just a few minutes of my time I got an ultra fresh, footlong+ lemongrass tofu banh mi sandwich. Hard to beat. We came here in a rush and kind of blind having not looked up any reviews on Unilocal pre-game time. Turns out, we chose well because the prices were pretty nominal and Danny W and I got two bottled beverages, two massive and very phallic shrimp spring rolls, and two big-ass banh mi sandwiches(lemongrass tofu for me and curry chicken for Danny W). Our bill total was under $ 19 and I was too full to finish mine so I gifted the last part of the sandwich that I’d already chewed on to Danny W and he happily chowed down. The woman working the counter was so nice and I think was also possibly the person who made all our food. She was busting her ass and I’m pretty sure would’ve bent over backwards to please us. My lemongrass tofu banh mi was such a steal, but I def filled up on those mighty spring rolls. I liked that they didn’t skimp on the innards and had lots of really refreshing mint in every bite. Added a spoonful of garlic chili sauce with every bite and it was basically a dream.
