Commenting on the food as I have eaten here multiple times during my stay at the Holiday Inn in which Bar Louis resides. Some of the times were better than the others. Prices are a little high for the quality of food. Must admit their tator tots(ranch on the side) were the best thing I’ve eaten here. Close second is the trio chips and dip. Guac, queso, salsa– first two are fantastic, salsa is not great. Have had their chicken avocado sandwich(California?), was nothing special, in my opinion not worth the money. Also had a burger– recommended by many as «great» or even«to die for». Neither of those comments were true, the patty was… to put it lightly, disgusting. The rest of the burger was better than the patty… pass. It was cooked properly, was just very poor meat quality. For lunch today I had the mac n cheese with added bacon and jalapeños. The best out of the main dishes, still had nothing on the tots or the chips. If I eat there again tomorrow, I’ll likely get the loaded tots and call it a day. The waitstaff was nice and accomodating.

The culture, environment is not what it use to be. The food and drinks are still great.

Food was very good. Had the pear and blue cheese salad. Ordered 2 ipas that were on the menu. Neither were available. Twice ordered water… never got that. Eye contact w wait staff is elusive. Guys are restocking bar while I am still here… starting to feel like I am in the way…

Jason is a great bartender! Let me say foremost that bars in the burbs are mediocre at best; but this chain is above average. They give me my angry orchards quickly and are so attentive. The parking situation could be better but it’s a small price to pay for good service. The food is decent and the drinks are better.

I like to keep my reviews short and sweet so here we go PROS: Great draft beer selection Decent wings OK: prices are the average for the area. CONS: Service was very slow. A good couple minutes to get drink rounds, this wasn’t during peak hours.

Decent place, the food and drinks are average. Service is good, the servers are pleasant and attentive. They have an continental breakfast if you want to eat from a buffet in the morning. I do recommend just ordering your food, the buffet was way over priced.

This Bar Louie is attached to the Holiday Inn, near O’Hare. This is one of the nicer Bar Louies I have been to(there are 2 in Milwaukee) in terms of atmosphere, food, and wait staff. It was a Saturday evening and fairly busy. We were greeted and seated right away by a spunky young waitress. She told us about the specials and let us gaze over the menu before coming back for orders. I was in the mood for fish fry(called Drunken Fish and Chips here), and Joe R got the tuscan chicken pasta. We did not wait long before our food came out, and it was so hot and fresh! Joe loved his chicken pasta dish and my fish fry was perfect — just what I wanted! The portions were fairly large. We were very, very hungry from the packing and then drive down to Chicago so between the two of us we ended up eating everything lol. Our waitress checked on us at the appropriate times and was very diligent with water refills — I drink a lot of water… Dining here was a great start to our spring break adventure! I would stop in here again during my travels.

I give this Bar Louie 2.5 stars. This location has standard Bar Louie food and it’s conveniently located near O’Hare and part of the hotel for travelers. It’s also right off the Kennedy Expressway, so if you’re coming from work and want to meet up with friends, here you go. The beer selection is good and the bar food is not bad, but the service is ridiculously slow. In two years of occasionally stopping here, mainly for it’s location off the Cumberland exit, we have found all of the night servers tend to take their time. It’s an okay place.

This is a great local bar. Folks from my office come here for lunch. Pretty good food and great service. I’ve only been here for lunch once. I usually come out for drinks, appetizers and dinner. One of the better beer menus in the area. They regularly rotate what they serve. This time out we tried the several seasonal they had. Our favorite was the Brothers. They have a happy hour special with cheaper drinks and appetizers. The spicy boneless wings are great. The flatbreads are all very good. My favorite is the calamari. This is a great place and the service is always exceptional. When the weather is nice, they have outdoor seating.

«Eh» could really summarize my thoughts on this Bar Louie. We were staying at the Holiday Inn and after getting back late-ish at night really wanted something to eat. I had a huge craving for fries so I didn’t really care what else was next to them. I ordered the BLTT– bacon, lettuce, tomato, and turkey. The sandwich was great and very large, too. I wish that had been what I was craving to have. The fries were… Not good. Undercooked, soggy, and very bland. Our waiter was friendly and quick. The person who greeted us at the door almost made it seem as though we were inconveniencing her at her own job. It’s good as far as a hotel restaurant goes. Outside of that, though… Eh.

Decided to have a drink before bed and a bit of food. Ordered the calamari and meatballs. Both were pretty meh. The calamari was small enough that one person would burn through it in a few bites, and the meatballs were very spicy. The drinks on the other hand, were very strong which is a good thing. No one likes watered down beverages and in that regard, they don’t disappoint. Service was a bit slow, which was weird since it seemed like there were a lot of servers and not that many customers.

My best friend works in the hospitality industry close to O’hare so this was the go to spot after work to get a bite to eat and some drinks. We’ve always had great service! The bartenders are so down to earth and know us every time we come in. The spinach artichoke dip is incredibly delicious by the way: P

Draft beer selection was great! Had classics like Stella and Sam Adams but also had interesting and seasonal beers as well, which I loved! Service was fairly friendly. Food menu was very intersting– had cool things on it, as well as classic sandwiches and burgers. Food was awesome, flatbread was great and wedge salad was good portion size and tasty. Beer was a little pricey– Blue Moon was $ 7. And the music was fairly loud, felt like I had to speak over it when talking to my guest who was right next to me. All in all I enjoyed my evening here– would definitely return.

It’s been a while since I’ve been here and their drink menu is phenomenal and many of them taste great. Love the atmosphere. I will definitely need to come back again to eat because this visit reminded me why I used to be such a regular

First of all getting there was a joke off of 90 w, u make a u-turn and end up on the ramp. Finally got there to meet some old friends visiting Chicago. Food was ok service was terrible! Our server Tiffany rolled her eyes @ us when we complained about the slow service. Not going back.

Came with a large group for team dinner. The beer list was pretty extensive and had some nice choices. Appetizers were your standard premade/frozen fare and the mains were similar. Staff was rather underwhelming and tactiturn.

It’s a bar/restaurant in hotel, but it is one of the better ones I’ve been too. On its own Louie’s not bad, maybe a notch above Applebees. Its typical American fare, burgers, sandwiches, flatbread, salads and some decent happy hour specials. ordered veggie flat bread with portabella mushrooms, red peppers, red onion, spinach, feta, and garlic lots of garlic, lil on the salty side but ok if you get in late or get stuck due to weather, it’s not bad with some decent options. They had a breakfast buffet, eggs, oatmeal, sausages, bacon, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, cereal, potatoes, juices for 12.95, coffee was extra. everything was ok but again a lil on the salty side

I really like this spot. I’m staying at the Holiday Inn and this restaurant is attached to the hotel. It kind of put you in the mindset of a Chilli’s or Bennigan’s. I went twice. The first time I ordered the BLTT(bacon lettuce tomato turkey). OMG. That was so good. The next night I had a burger. I didn’t think it was all that great. But maybe it was just that particular burger that wasn’t that good. The service here was great, and both times the waitresses were so friendly. I notice that they are really crowded for happy hour. M-F for happy hour they have half off appetizers. And each day there are different drink specials. It’s really a cool spot to hang alone or with friends.

Since I stayed at the Holiday Inn without a car I had many meals here. First off the place is pretty spacious so no worries about getting a table when you walk in. The place is dark with a bunch of booths, tables, and bar seating. All the staff are young 20s-30s. Decent service. BREAKFAST: First off, they offer regular breakfast items or buffet in the morning. They open at 6am despite what a lot of the advertisement and whatnot says. I’ve only had the buffet because I was always in a rush. Although it didn’t look like it took too long for the food to arrive. Buffet consists of: scrambled eggs, potatoes with green peppers & onions, bacon/sausage, either french toast or pancakes, cut up fruit, toast/bagels, cereal, and orange juice. They’ll ask you right away if you want coffee. I thought breakfast was pretty decent. Great way to start off the day! DINNER: BLT Wedgeiceberg lettuce, bacon, tomato, onion, egg, blue cheese crumbles, blue cheese dressing, house vinaigrette — at first I thought there wasn’t enough dressing and told my waiter to bring me more but there was enough. It is a mixture of two different dressings. If you are picky about your dressings please inquire. Overall, not bad. One weekdays, they have half-off select appetizers from 4−7pm! Bruschetta Pomodorotomato, basil, garlic, olive oil, parmesan crostinis available with shrimp — Comes with like 12 pieces of hard-slightly burnt bread. The actual bruschette was really good. I liked it! If only the bread was tastier. Cheese Quesadillapepper jack, cheddar, sour cream, pico de gallo, guacamole — This is decently good. The guacamole was a bit dark in color… the pico de gallo is a tad spicy fyi There’s big screens surrounding the entire restaurant if you are dire need of watching some game.
