I was on the hunt for a location for a surprise party I was hosting. Stumped upon this little gem in the back waters on page 7 on Unilocal. And let me tell you. I’m so glad I did. Lindsey, the owner is an absolute doll! We could chat all day. She is so involved in the community and spreading the love of art! Her space was phenomenal, exactly what I was looking for. She also host camps and classes for the kids too. So if you looking for something to keep your kids busy you found the spot! I definitely will be back for a class myself and for an art opening!

We chose Beauty & Brawn for our launch party and were very happy with how it all worked out. Lindsey was reliable, accommodating, and fun to work with. We were able to plan the entire event in just over a week without any speed bumps. The space is beautiful and fit 100 people comfortably. We would recommend anyone to use Beauty and Brawn for their next event. Lindsey is awesome and the gallery is perfect for many different functions!

I was looking for a week of camp between the end of my 8-year old’s summer camp session and the start of school. I decided to sign him up for a week of camp at Beauty & Brawn, and I was so happy to see just how much he enjoyed it. Lindsay creates a great environment for the kids, with an excellent balance between structure and flexibility. He’s a pretty picky kid when it comes to camps and after-school programs, and I was thrilled at how much he loved the experience. Thanks so much!

I am a quilter and am drawn to not only the raw materials that one uses to create them but also Quilts that others create. When I read the Tribune article about the Homicide Quilt( ) I knew I had to come and see it myself. When my husband and I got here imagine our wonder at discovering not only the quilt we were seeking but a wonderful, intimate, eclectic space with an entire show of needle art and also a magnificent owner. Lindsey Meyers is the owner, caretaker, «mother» of this nurturing spot and she’s passionate about her city, her gallery and art. She believes that Art is meaningful, courageous, important and alive and she embodies these characteristics in herself and her gallery. Looking for an intimate show? Art classes? A space for a birthday party? Some other artistic idea? This is your spot. Call first for hours. And remember, Art is raw, organic, classic and non-judgmental. At least here it is!
