I don’t see what the hype is about this Bennigan’s. For some reason, even though they’re not busy they still manage to take forever the times I’ve been there for lunch. I give the place 2 stars for the lunch special. They have this $ 5.99 lunch special that provides a decent sized lunch portion. Now the reason they only get 2 stars… the service is unusually slow and they don’t handle large groups well. The first time I went here with coworkers they were unbelievably slow with everything. It got to the point where we needed our food to go which was fine except they put our food in garbage bags!!! Unfortunately there isn’t much selection around that area so I will tolerate the place but would not recommend to others who can go somewhere else.

Took my wife and young kids here about 6pm on 12/31, a snowy night but we wanted to get out of the house. I had been here before a couple of years ago, but the evening started strange when a AAA guy in the parking lot approached me as I returned to the car for something we forgot, he actually got to about 2 feet from my face to ask if I had a light and asked if I knew who had called AAA??? While for a split second thinking of throwing my keys one way and running the other, I decided to quickly lock up and move. Hastily retreating to the restaurant I rejoined my family, the restaurant was a little eerie, there was no music playing or TV’s on, as if the management and staff(understandably being NYE)) wanted their shift to end. The background we were subjected was of some middle age guy either on a first date with a beautiful young woman or someone he hired for the evening, bestowing the greatness of himself to all within earshot. Anyway, the staff were friendly and the food was good though not great. Our waiter seemed to be going through the motions and outside of taking our order didn’t say much to us at all. I know most of the business at this restaurant is during the business week, but it can be a nice quiet place if you live near the neighborhood.

We’ve eaten here three times, and have had great service there every time. Good, greasy Americana cuisine that hits the spot and makes you feel like you’re eating Food Network quality food. I don’t remember what it’s called, but they have meal that comes with three or four little burgers like White Castle, but they’re much better. Definitely try those!

Great Bennigans the only bad thing about it is the parking because of the offices around here. I highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich which I get on the wheatbun, but nothing on the chicken, but the buffalo sauce otherwise it comes with I believe lettuce, an onion ring, and ranch. The pick two or pick three appetizer is also a great way to try some of the appetizers for a low cost.

Not as great as the other Bennigans but it’s convieient for me. Gets SUPER busy during lunch hours and DEAD at night. Weird atmosphere to this one though. I usually do carryout. $ 4 blue burgers on Wens can’t be beat!

I associate this place with my old job that I hated because it was convenient and in the same building. The service is consistently good, but the food is just so blah. It was a relatively spacious area, and decent for the occasional after work happy hour. I normally order the country chicken salad here, but one time I made the mistake of ordering the ever popular Monte Cristo. It’s a deep fried sandwich of some sort, but I am nearly positive that it was microwaved as some of the other sandwiches might be. It was a stretchy kind of bread that just didn’t seem right. Needless to say, I avoid ordering sandwiches here and stick with things that can not really be microwaved. I just don’t want to chance it and throw away food and money. Parking can be tough at prime eating hours.

I have a special relationship with this location… sigh My wife and I got our first apartment together across the street from this place. We weren’t married yet so this was during our«living in sin» time. I really liked the area… we were close to the most awesome Dominick’s in Chicagoland(underground parking), Bally’s was nearby, and I walked across the street to the blue line station to go to work. We ate at this Bennigan’s quite a bit. My brew of choice was Killian’s Irish Red at the time and I had plenty of these as well. Most of their business is from the people that work around the area and business travelers staying at the nearby hotels. Most of the time, it was not too busy on weekday evenings. The waitstaff is friendly and accomodating.
