This place had awesome hangover food and great bar tending love the prices and atmosphere. My wife and I split breakfast croissant and still didn’t finish it.

Great atmosphere and great food. The grilled cheese was the best grilled cheese I have ever tasted. It’s served on a brioche bun, so it’s definitely not your typical grilled cheese.

Absolutely fantastic! You’d expect a restaurant with such a spectacular location(perfectly placed along the river) to lack in some way food wise. However Bridge House Tavern served some of the best food I’ve had in Chicago! The cheese board was the star of the evening. Highly recommend! A gorgeous presentation of three delectable cheeses with fruits, flatbread toasts and honey. We also had the fries with Bernaise and three other sauces. These weren’t your average fries! The potatoes were tender on the inside and cut into flat spirals with a perfect crispy, crusty texture on the outside. YUM! I’d also recommend the Brussels Sprouts. Whatever they used for a topping… Wow! I’ve only given 5 stars a few times and this rating is well deserved! This was paradise for a ‘Foodie’

Let me just start with the fact that I did not get to eat at this location because of their lack of notifying the general public that they were closed. There is nothing posted online of their temporary closing for the winter season until the 21st of January. Their phone is disconnected with no message to inform future patrons of their closing. I really hope that they pay more attention to detail because trekking out to this location took some time. I will return when their open and hope that my experience is different. AGAIN, THEYARECLOSEDFORUNTILTHE21stOFJANUARY. Don’t bother going until after then.

Had a great time day drinking here. The bartender was pretty cool and very attentive. Good selection of beverages to choose from. We were lucky to get in before the brunch crowd on the weekend because shortly after, this place go PACKED. If you are going to go on a weekend, make sure to get there early to avoid a long wait.

We found Bridge House Tavern on Unilocal and thought that we should check it out because of the 4 stars and location on the river. We were pleasantly surprised and it exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere was lively but it wasn’t so noisy that you couldn’t talk. They had the fireplace going which gave it a very cozy feel. Everyone from the hostess to our waitress and even one of the owners made us feel super welcome up until we walked out. Good drink choices and a nice variety on the menu. We got the bacon Brussel sprout app. WOW! It was absolutely the best Brussel sprout dish that we’ve ever had. We can’t wait to go back in the summer when they have outdoor seating right on the river. These guys do it right and you can tell that they have an attention to detail on everything. Nice job Bridge House Tavern! We’ll be back!

I found this place on Unilocal and added it to my bookmarks, and it was a great decision! I was nagging the boyfriend about this place on our recent trip to Chicago, and he caved in. We after at 10:15, shortly after they opened for Saturday brunch. I was scared that this place would be packed but to my surprise it was only half full. As soon as we sat down our waitress came over and got our drinks and asked«would you like to start with beignets?», darn right we will! The most amazing things ever! They came out super warm and fresh with baileys whipped cream and caramel sauce. Craving these bad boys now and totally worth every penny. I ordered the bacon omelette and it was just ordinary, nothing to rave about. But it came with mashed potatoes that were perfect with the cheese and sour cream. Don’t forget to get the mimosas, only $ 5! Woo

Having flown into town earlier in the day I was a little tired, but excited to have a beer, some cocktails, some decent food and watch SNF. I know BHT is known for their view and that by me coming at night I lost out in that amenity, I didn’t care that much. I was cold, tired and needed liquid decompression. I was interested in their Beer & Whiskey selection. $ 10 Bubblin Dublin had champagne, ginger beer and 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey, not bad, but everything else was well squash like Hendricks. And no a Sazerac does not use Buffalo Trace(as much as I love BT). A solid selection of scotch’s, all a decent prices. No Lagavulin, really? I chose 14 year Caribbean cask Balvenie and Ri because although I’m a bourbon man, many of their whiskies were out of touch. How is Eagle Rare and Four roses and Blantons $ 12, but basil Haydens and Laphroaig $ 10? Each neat and in a lowball. Décor is really quite nice, comfortable, relaxed, but classy. Both private and semi private indoor and outdoor areas. Staff is nice and not overbearing the way some regions can me. I came to Chicago for a good steak later in the week and didn’t want to overdo it on the meats so I went light. Mussels, tavern fries, avo rolls. I was half expecting something like BJ’s avo rolls, but these were a little more thought out, but slightly less consistently executed. Still very good, just messy and not dense. Fries were good, but I stuck with the béarnaise as a mother sauce is better than any bacon aioli or ketchup you can come up with. Mussels were quite large, though not shareable for me. Loved the saffron sauce, thought about ordering a side of rice to sop it up as the baguette was not enough. An excellent dish. Soft Pretzels Great crowd was a good mix of casual, business, sports fans, younger crowd. Bartenders were good, but less than friendly. I can imagine this place is popping in the summer with the view right on the river.

My husband and I came in for dinner and it was quite nice. The atmosphere was very dim with the right lighting glow. View of the river was incredible. We made a reservation for a riverside table. When we arrived they said it would be just a few minutes so we grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartenders were great and the view perfect so we actually decided to stay and dine there. Food was delicious! My NY strip dinner definitely won. The sweet Demi glaze and blue cheese cream was incredible. Would order that again in a heartbeat! Looking forward to coming back for brunch!

went here for after work happy hour with coworkers, this is the best so far we have had that is close to the loop, really liked their fries and the sauces that came with it… other food dishes such as the shrimp and grits are awesome too… it’s not just a place to get drink and have mediocre food, their food is very much better than most of the happy hours we have been to around the loop it is a bit more formal than the other places we’ve been too, here everyone is pretty much sat down, you don’t really see ppl just standing around a table and stuff

Went here at night and sat outside, so beautiful. I don’t live in the city so I really enjoy being able to just sit and look at the scenery. Didn’t make a reservation but it was early enough and also a Thursday night so we sat down right away. The food was delicious as well! Got a couple appetizers(Mac and cheese and the chicken avocado rolls) and the pork belly po boy sandwich. Also had the ice cream and waffles dessert and a few drinks too! I know this is totally normal for the area but it’s just so expensive :($ 90 bill plus tip is a lot but the restaurant location, service and food was wonderful.

This place is pretty cool. You kind of feel like you’re on a boat with the way it’s designed and laid out. My husband and I stopped by for a casual, late lunch on a weekday this fall. It was pretty brisk outside and they had the windows open so we were seated next to a nice fireplace. Our server was okay. He kind of seemed unenthusiastic about work and not thrilled to be there with minimal interactions. It took awhile to get our drinks and then again the bill because he was busy chatting with other servers. Not a big deal because we weren’t in a hurry but obviously not great server etiquette(I’ve worked in restaurants for a long time). However, the hostess was super nice when we arrived and left. The food was really good. I had the steak sandwich which really hit the spot and was perfectly put together and seasoned. My husband had the fish and chips which he also really liked. Wine list was pretty good considering it is such a small place and they even have a nice lunch wine deal, although we did not partake. The draft beer list is lacking, although that seems to be a theme in Chicago, which is always shocking to me based on how big craft beer is here. We’d go back for sure. I’d recommend it for a nice view, casual lunch or dinner. One thing to note — it was a little smelly with all of the windows open. It was a windy day so the western smells of the Chicago river were clearly breezing through. Not a big deal but it was definitely noticeable.

With this being my first time in Chicago I could not recommend a better restaurant. Located between N. Dearborn and N. Clark St., Bridge House Tavern has a great view, good food and service and a great ambiance. The outdoor patio is right off of the river with an amazing view of the city. While it was a little chilly when I went, they did have heat lamps and also provided a blanket if you were really cold. This place seems like it would be ideal during the spring or summer, especially for Football Sundays. I would highly recommend the Red Roasted Chicken and the Spicy Avocado Rolls.

I’m a sucker for good food and good views. This place has exactly what I love and more! On Clark Street, you will find an entry to elevators next to the bridge that takes you down to the restaurant. If I had known, I suggest making reservations for an outside seat, so we waited about 15 minutes. The host was extremely accommodating to our requests. I ordered the Angry Pig Burger($ 15) with salad and shared an order of Tavern Fries($ 9) with my friend. The fries weren’t your typical fries and came with four different dipping sauces. Heads up, the ketchup is mixed with Tabasco so it has a kick in it! My burger was absolutely phenomenal, especially with the egg perfectly cooked as a sunny side up on top. The jalapeño bacon was something different that I really enjoyed in my burger with the cheesy flavors on the patty. I was barely able to even finish my burger, but it was so delicious that I didn’t want to leave any behind. On top of the that, the salad was a perfect touch to pair with the burger although the fries looked superb as well. I definitely would’ve chosen the fries if we didn’t also order a side of fries to share. P. S. They have $ 5 mimosas and bloody marys on Sundays. If I’m ever in Chicago again, I’m definitely coming back for those too!

5 stars for the view. 5 stars for available seating on a Sunday afternoon 4 stars for the average turkey burger. 4 stars for the fries that went with the turkey burger. Averages out to a 4.5. Sorry I round down. Come for the view, but maybe skip out on the food and just drink instead!

Obviously, the location here is amazing. Great view of all the river happenings if you’re lucky enough to get a seat at the edge. The food, however, is just ok. My fries came out soggy and my friend’s tots were cold. I’ve been a couple times and the only dish worth mentioning, surprisingly, is the tuna tartare. Have fun waiting if you come during after-work rush.

Being that my office is close by, my colleagues and I have visited Bridge House Tavern a few times. Some occasions we’ve had great service and food, but on other occasions we’ve had so-so service and meh food. Overall I’d give Bridge House Tavern 3 stars. Recommendations: *Spicy Chicken Avocado Rolls — amazing! Loved these. *Pork Belly BLT — enjoyed every bite of this sandwich. Get it with a side of tater tots. *Onion Rings — while I’m not a fan of onion rings, my colleagues all said they liked them. *Steak Sandwich — the meat was juicy and the horseradish aioli made this a definite winner. Skip: *Grilled Chicken Sandwich — my colleague thought it was dry. *Wedge Salad with Chicken — nothing special about it.

I went to this place with a group of my favorite colleagues at work. We sat close to the big window next to the river, around a big wood table. It felt like a very cozy family dinner at holiday. The duck tacos I ordered were just perfect. Duck was very flavored and well cooked. I don’t know the name of the little pink pickles they put on top of each taco, but they were just perfect companies to the duck meat — truly a creative and delicious dish! We also ordered each dessert on the menu to share — all delicious! So it’s truly a risk-free desserts menu.

Pros: beautiful patio by the river, ok pricing for the view and amount of food given, nice waitstaff but slow on the water bottle refill cons: sometimes the river smells like sewage, some brunch items were mediocre — like the beignets(although the housemade whipped cream and cinnamon glaze were on point), and the wicked tots were rather salty. probably best to just drink mimosas specials all sunday.

Bridge House Tavern is awesome! Great patio right on the river, and nice view from the inside too. As far as food, the smoked salmon was crazy good. My friend and I also shared the ceviche(ok), chicken rillettes(not a fan), and spicy chicken avocado rolls(tasty). This ended up being a lot of food for 2 people! It was half off shareables night, so we went a little overboard what can I say? Our waitress was great, and the manager(maybe owner?) stopped by our table towards the end of the meal too. Definitely friendly service all around, and quick too! Both food and drink were served faster than expected. However, the cocktails failed to impress. I’m a little spoiled from the great mixology around Chicago and so would recommend keeping it simple here with a beer or glass of wine. Enjoy!
