Budan Jiu Jitsu

Having never trained Jiu Jitsu before starting my experience at Budan, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Yes, I had seen UFC, Strike Force, etc. on television and had a rough grasp of the concept of Jiu Jitsu, but had no idea what I was actually getting into.
Stepping on the mats for the first time, there was a lot of trepidation on my part, but all of the team at Budan, from the coaches, Cliff and Veronica, to my now teammates, were welcoming, encouraging and highly supportive of me, and each other. The hour-​long classes are perfectly laid out, with the coaches leading warm-​ups, teaching techniques and then a bit of open mat/​sparring time to end class and give students a chance to work on the technique of the day, or previous techniques.
As mentioned previously, I cannot speak highly enough of the comradery, sportsmanship and learning experience Budan provides students, guests and anyone else who walks through the doors.
If you’re looking to train with a top-​flight school, full of supremely skilled coaches and teammates, give Budan a shot. You won’t regret it. See you in class!

I have been to a lot of JiuJitsu schools in the past 5 years and my experience here was one of the best. Cliff taught a great class and the students are very lucky to train in a very welcoming environment. There are no egos here and Cliff and his wife are known for constantly trying to implement new techniques into their respective games.
