Received grainy cotton candy Shermans ice cream. Paid 18 dollars for a half gallon. The woman working the counter refused to sell me a half gallon despite it being on the menu. What gives! I requested she call managment and after five minutes of a call taken in the most obvious secrecy, she said«I guess we can.» The ice cream was as disappointing as the service I received. I’m going to call Health Inspection because the ice cream is so foul it makes my stomach repel from the very ice cream that is made with mastery in south haven, michigan. The ice cream likes sand. SAND! Unfortunately this the only establishment that serves Shermans ice cream in Chicago. They have yet to answer my calls.

Do not eat food here — I got the tuna melt and couldn’t eat it because it was so disgusting. The fries were okay… But how hard is it to mess up fries? BUT… Dessert is another story. I will stop in for Italian ice, soft serve, sundaes, and regular ice cream. Tastes great. Highly recommended. Just stay away from the food items on the menu

When I read these reviews that say this is the best place for anything, I know they are written by people that the restaurant knows. I have lived across the street from this place for 3 years. Every time I go in there(maybe 5 times), I am more and more disappointed. Just tonight I got two hot dogs with«everything» on them. The buns were so stale they were hard as a rock and inedible. The dogs had no peppers, pickle, and no relish on them. Just terrible. Last time I got a Gyro sandwich. Hideous! You know, if the food is not great, but edible, I might help keep this place in business by going back. However, if you charge more than Portillo’s for a hot dog and it is awful, no. I will not be back, ever. It seems everyone seems the same way because the only other time I saw someone in there, he was taking a nap.

Double cheeseburger is my favorite! I can always count on some good food at Cameron’s.

Variety. Quality. Experience. When you think of Cameron’s, there isn’t one word that can adequately describe everything the restaurant encompasses. Have lived a block away for the last two years and this place has been a staple. Great prices on some of the best Malts, Funnel Cakes and Corn dogs in the city. Enjoy a complimentary free poster to cap off the evening!

Came in on a Groupon; tried the philly cheesesteak, the chili dog, an order of fries and the chocolate shake. Given that«Ice Cream» is in the title, my high hopes for the shake being great were dashed by the more chocolate milk-like consistency of the shake, and for $ 5, I was hoping for a bigger glass(or at least a side tin of extra shake to tide me over). The cheesesteak wasn’t bad, but the chili dog was was. Fries reminded me of the krinkle cut fries of my youth… but the ketchup to go with it was almost literally watered down, it was so thin. I’ll be back, mainly because my Groupon was a multi-pack. They do have a diverse menue at Cameron’s and the staff worked relatively fast to get me some chow. But I would never go out of my way to eat here without a deal.

Stopped by for lunch, asked what was good… paused/silence. I asked how the chicken sandwich was, if it was thick and juicy. I was told yes! Ordered cheese fries and a coke. The sandwich was thin and dry with a gob of mayo on it. The cheese fried were alright plain fries with liquid cheese, needed some seasoning to help the cheesy goodness. I would say to stay away from the menu, not sure if anyone who works there can tell you what is good. …the coke was refreshing.

This is one of the grossest places you can eat at. For ice cream, you can’t lose, but everything else is baddddd. Don’t order the shakes! They use a blender and then have a Hamilton shake maker as decoration?!? Staff is incredibly rude and incompetent as well. Can’t wait to see something better come here.

Just moved nearby and had to give this place a shot… it’s within stumbling distance of home. At first glance, this place has an identity problem… Is it an ice cream shop or fast food joint. The inside is cute… It has about 10 tables and the vibe of an old school ice cream shop. The italian beef and fries were solid. I wouldnt call it a generous portion as a previous reviewer wrote but it was enough to get the job done. This place is cheap! $ 6.43 for an Italian beef and large fries. The service leaves a lot to be desired. The employee working the counter had an «indifferent» demeanor. She didn’t strike me as the sharpest tool in the shed. Service was on the slow side… a couple of minutes slower than it should be. All in all, I’ll be back and would like to try a burger. They look pretty good. One last point… all those handwriten notes like«Don’t touch the decorations» and«Don’t take candy unless you put money in» give off a negative vibe. Take the notes down and suck it up.

Places like these need to stick around! Soo cute, feels like a small town kind of shop, and I thought it was fantastic for what it is supposed to deliver. Cheese Fries-Amazballs! $ 2.19 for a giant serving of crinkle fries s-m-o-t-h-e-r-e-d in that delicious pump cheese sauce I love! Philly Steak san– Delish! Good blend of meat, onion amd a yummie creamy white cheese. Way better that Phillys best and even better than susies from ‘chicago best’. Get it! Corn Dog-yum except I couldn’t really tell it was hand dipped…

by far, the BEST italian beef I have had in Chicago. Good juicy, tender meat, great bread, and big portions. You cant go wrong. Haven’t ever been disappointed here. its good, cheap, burger joint/ice cream parlor food(although to be perfectly honest I have never had their ice cream). I also hear the philly cheese steak is good, considering we aren’t in philly. I miss living across the street from this joint, for shore.

This place isn’t anything too special, but if you have a craving for a corn dog… this is the place to go! So, purely on the basis of their corndogs, I am giving this place 4 stars. They make their corn dogs fresh. If you watch them in the back, you can see them put the hotdog on a stick, dip it in batter, and deep-fry it… made to order. Whenever I feel like indulging in some state-fair-syle fare, this is my go-to spot.

This was an OK place, but I was still rather unimpressed. I had a craving for a cheesesteak sandwich, so I stopped as I drove by. It was an all right sandwich, but it really seems more of an ice cream shop. I felt awkward ordering my sandwich, even though it was prominently advertised. I won’t go back, except maybe to try the ice cream.

I went here for the simple fact that I wanted something quick to eat and POSSIBLY sneak in some ice cream. I ordered a gyro sandwich. It was taking so long that I became thirsty. So I asked for a CUP of water. Five minutes later, The girl who was working there came out with a small BOWL and filled it with water and gave it to me. WTH am I supposed to do it with this? Am I supposed to set it down on the floor and lick it up like a dog? Is this bowl of water supposed to be for my fingers to clean them before my gyro sandwich, which BTW is now taking over 20 minutes to make? Its for me to drink out of? No thank you. i finally received my gyro sandwich and realize that there is no tzatziki sauce on it. At this point i am furious. Now the girl at the counter is talking in Spanish to another lady who came in with this kid who she babysits for. Then I stood behind her to make gesture of a line being formed. The woman behind the counter just kept chattering away and ignored me until I finally announced myself. She gave me the dirtiest look out of her when I asked for my tzatziki sauce. She gave me a little container of the stuff and i finally sat down to eat. The food and the service was terrible. The meat was over salted. YUCK. The décor of this place is tacky ice cream shop. The ice cream looked well past its prime and the store layout didn’t look right. In summary, I had a terrible service and food. This place needs a total rehab for its décor and employees. I suggest you try another place. :)

Kind of a nothing little place. I popped in here yesterday to kill time before an appointment for a beverage. I had an uncharacteristic small Coke, if you must know. It was empty. Every time I look in here it’s empty. Extremely varied menu of standard food items. Nothing stood out as particular delicious, or a specialty of the house. Even the ice cream looks bored.

Mediocre is the word that comes to mind. I’ve never had anything but ice cream/Italian ice here, so I can’t comment on the food, but I really can’t imagine the food being any good, given the very limited space they’re working with. I don’t think I’ve ever gone in there when it hasn’t been completely empty. I’m not quite sure how they even stay in business. The Italian ice is fine… nothing to write home about.

Ooooooh icy deliciousness… I’m not a huge fan of the Italian Ice but the Fat-Free frozen yogurt is phenomenal! It’s cold and hard and icy. None of that mush-mush stuff. If you go, make sure you get the FF fro-yo swirl! Chocolate + Vanilla = love. I guess the place serves food too… I was way too wrapped up in their frozen yogurt and hand-crafted waffle cones.

I made a point of going to Cameron’s because I went to their old location on Diversey frequently years ago. Alas, this new location is rather lacking. I ordered two take-home pints of ice cream and both flavors taste off and have an icy, not-frozen-well texture to them. I took a bite of each and that was enough. $ 13 down the drain! Really bummed. The place was DEAD when I went in and I counted four people working, yet it took quite some time to fill my order. Not only did I pay $ 5+ per pint, but the woman did not properly pack the pints– more like ¾ full. Bottom line: too expensive, sub-par ice cream, slow service, and lacking décor.
