Cashmere and Wit

Ok… so it’s time for me to post yet again about how awesome Alyssa is! I’ve now used her for multiple shopping trips, sent her on missions to get individual items for me, and am constantly texting her for outfit advice. I get 90% of my compliments on things that she’s bought for/​with me, and she typically finds it on sale. Also, she is a wealth of information on how to fix near-trajedies…recently she helped me save a brand new designer dress that got random mystery snags all over it. She is my fashion guru!

As a consultant who often works from home (hello, yoga pants, or, rather, bathrobe), my wardrobe really needed an overhaul for client meetings, networking, and going out. I have worked with Cashmere and Wit off and on for three years, and have found the service to be extremely valuable.
It starts with their consultant (I worked with Alyssa, the owner) going through clothes you own and giving you feedback on what fits, is on trend, looks good, and can be combined with clothing you own. You’re then given a list of suggestions for items to add to your wardrobe. If you’d like, you can hire Cashmere and Wit to shop for you and/​or with you to get the items your wardrobe lacked.
Alyssa was really great at identifying new combinations right within my own closet, so I felt like I instantly had a whole new wardrobe. And after we shopped together? Even better. She helped me find those items I lacked, and made sure they worked with a variety of the clothes I already had.
Cashmere and Wit is expert at sticking to a budget, and Alyssa will pass along any savings she can access as a result of being a stylist. LOVE this company!
Addendum: Alyssa just outfitted me for the holidays, including a formal dress she found for $ 80 on sale! Never have I felt so confident at a black tie affair. And with the money I saved, my husband and I were able to splurge on a hotel room close to the event. Go, Alyssa, go!

Alyssa is fabulous! I love shopping and have a pretty good handle on what I like and what I don’t like; however, I don’t always find the best deals. Shopping with Alyssa helps me save money on great finds (in stores and online) that I wouldn’t have found otherwise. She has also helped me find and/​or «approve» the perfect dress for many special occasions, and I especially appreciate her help with accessories. She is professional and fun to hang out with, and I like that she knows local boutique owners and is up-​to-​date on latest trends and where to find them. I recommend anyone (male or female) using her for either a closet cleansing, adding staples to your current wardrobe, or finding the perfect outfit for a special event.

In theory I enjoy shopping, but ask anyone who has gone shopping with me and they’ll disagree. I don’t really know what shapes will fit well, so after trying a few things on that aren’t good, I’m overwhelmed and give up or settle for something mediocre. I also lack the ability to put individual pieces I like into cohesive outfits, so left to my own devices I end up with mismatched outfits that don’t look nearly as cute as I intended. After having a baby and losing my baby weight, but ending up with new concerns about my changed shape, I decided to get professional help!
Alyssa was recommended by a friend (who is always well-​dressed), and we went shopping yesterday, after a prior consultation about my budget, what I was shopping for, my style, size, etc. She pre-​shopped, so she already had clothes set aside for me in dressing rooms at a few stores, which was great. As I tried things on and we got a sense of what did and didn’t work, she’d grab a few more items.
I was totally thrilled to find a pair of jeans that fit GREAT (my biggest pain in clothes shopping has been finding jeans that fit properly), which in turn made every top I tried on look better. Fixing the mistake I was making with my jeans, Alyssa basically gave me a new wardrobe, since all my shirts will now look better. YAY! I also got a few tops that make me feel like a million bucks, and seriously I would have never thought they’d be the right color/​fit for me and wouldn’t have tried them on.
It was a great experience, and I look forward to using some of Cashmere and Wit’s other services in the future, especially the closet cleanse.

I am not a person who likes to shop — or even think about shopping. I love fashion and the idea of looking great, but I am easily overwhelmed and frequently discouraged. Enter Alyssa Peterson, personal stylist of Cashmere and Wit. I asked her for help with winter dresses (this was a special she ran; I would have never even thought of buying dresses for winter in Chicago!).
The experience was awesome. Alyssa met with me and asked me some questions about my personal style and what I was looking for — and then she pre-​shopped so when she took me shopping it would not take long! We visited Old Orchard together and she picked out dresses I would never have chosen myself but I LOVED.
Alyssa is so easy going and pleasant to be with — and she doesn’t make you feel less than just because she’s so into style and maybe (like me) you are not. She’s a real person and that makes a huge difference.
Another plus is that she knows a lot of shop owners, can shop for you and without you, and can find the deals! I love it!
