This is one of those places that has a 3.5 star average and you don’t know why. The food is really good, the portion sizes are great, and the service is polite and fast. Their lunch special has a massive portion of chicken fried rice(or lo mein +$ 2), an egg roll, and an entrée for $ 5.95!

Pros: cheap and abundant Cons: worst Chinese food I’ve ever tasted. After two bites each of the fried rice and cashew chicken I closed the container and bid farewell to really awful food. In addition to the tasteless meal, the man and woman behind the counter carried on at the tops of their voices for the entire time. Very inappropriate.

Super nice, super delicious Chinese food. A giant bonus here is that they have boba smoothies. Pick up is always quick and the staff is super sweet. They sell cute nick nacks like waving cat statues and it’s all around a wonderful place for a quick bite.

I haven’t reviewed anything on Unilocal for a couple years but my expectations for this quick, cheap Chinese joint were surpassed enough that I felt compelled to log in. I ordered the orange chicken dinner special and a «small» beef lo mein. The orange chicken consisted of large chunks of white meat(not soggy either!) in a sweet and flavorful sauce just like I was hoping(I was craving this from my college days). The rice was actually shrimp fried rice and the egg roll, although small, was above average. The portions were enormous and crazy affordable — one dinner special could feed two people perhaps and will run you less than $ 7. I was so full from my orange chicken that I barely touched my beef lo mein. I took a couple bites and it was good, but I won’t really dive into it for another day or so. Delivery service was right on time and the service from both the man on the phone and the delivery driver was great. I definitely intend to order from here more often and would recommend China Fast Wok over nearby China Station 10⁄10 times.

It’s a step above my hometown junk food Chinese that I was used to, not exactly mind blowing or special with the food or flavors. Good portions for the cost though, and the service is always quick to the point, but also still quite courteous. A huge step above some other Chinese food delivery joints I’ve tampered with in the area with that service. But still, I look for some place that has more savory options vs. the sugar loaded entrees you should expect at Chinese food places. I want less sweet, more spicy!

Fast. Cheap. Tasty. Local. I’m all about the above and China Fast Wok fills the criteria. My friend and I were looking for some greasy and cheap Chinese food not expecting much when we ordered delivery from China Fast Wok. Much to our surprise, it turned out being pretty darn good. Delivery was quoted at 40 – 60 minutes and ended up taking 90 minutes which sucked. But the delivery guy did apology upon bringing out food. The eggroll was decent, a bit smaller than most place but I did enjoy it. I had the orange chicken and found it a tad spicy but it was the good kind of spicy. My mouth wasn’t burning and it just added flavor but that’s a warning for those weak with the spices. Chicken tasted good, wasn’t soggy or overcooked and overall good flavor. We were both happy with our dishes, the prices are great and we happily found a new delivery option in Logan Square. Woot!

I love this place and I can honestly say this is about the only restaurant I have ever ordered from that has not screwed up my order. Food is fast, hot and done right the first time. I left off the last star cuz I wish they gv more soy sauce when they deliver. I always forget to ask for more and they only give you like 4.

Discovered CFW when i was home alone and didn’t feel like walking more than a few blocks. Right in the shopping center with the 7/11, convenience is high. The food was a delicious, MSG-free surprise and I’ve ordered takeout five or six times since. Dinner specials are huge portions, come with rice, egg roll and a drink, and they’re all $ 6.85. Haven’t gone wrong yet — chow fun, Hunan, Szechuan, broccoli, choice of protein; CFW makes it easy to get exactly what you want. Top it off with friendly servers/owners and you have a perfect neighborhood spot.

Great gringo Chinese! Not very authentic but big, good, fast grub. I love the dumplings and crab rangoons.

I love this place. Good food, huge portions, and CHEAP! It is by no means gourmet, but for a typical cheap Chinese joint it is great. They live up to the«fast» in China Fast Wok, I live about a mile or so away and it always gets delivered within a half hour, always fresh. Oh and the lunch and dinner specials come with an enormous serving a fried rice, an egg roll, and a can of pop, all for under $ 7. My personal favs are the Sweet and Sour Chicken(sauce comes in a separate container!), General Tso Chicken, and Hunan Beef. I didn’t like the Garlic Chicken, chicken isn’t breaded and way too many water chestnuts and mini corns.

I’ve never disliked anything I’ve ordered from here. I’m a huge fan of the Hunan beef. Another huge plus is that delivery is always really fast.

It’s hard to find places that make Tofu americanized chinese food. Here I could get m Sesame tofu, General Tao’s Tofu, Schwann Tofu… The list goes on. The portions are pretty good and if you get the Dinner or Lunch combo it comes out to a pretty good deal. It comes with fried rice, and egg roll and your choice of entrée. I Had enough for the next day. The cashier was even nice enough to suggest exchanging the egg roll for a vegetarian roll. While I haven’t had much off their menu besides the dishes mentioned earlier I will definitely be coming back to get my tofu fix ON! Ordered of delivery once and it came in fast and still warm, I say that’s a plus especially since they were closing.

If you ate here and liked the food then you have no idea what good Chinese is. The food here is garbage. The first time I ordered from here I was extremely disappointed. 6 months later ended up going here again since its literally a block walk from me and every other decent Chinese place is a bit far. Waited awhile just for a orange chicken dinner special, dumplings, and crab rangoon. After awhile even the staff themselves were wondering what was taking so long. The inside of the store was fine, a bit small and had one or two clearly broken tables, but no one eats in there anyway. Got home and almost threw the food in the trash because of how utterly garbage it was. It’s almost as if its made by homeless people for homeless people. It just doesn’t make sense! They give you rather big portions in the dinner/lunch specials, but I’m guessing that it is a bribe to get better reviews of their restaurant. Update — 4÷28÷14 That 6 month urge kicked in and I needed a quick Chinese fix. I hesitantly grabbed the menu from my desk drawer and ordered ahead… like a junkie I know what I’m doing is bad yet I can’t help myself. This time I keep it to one thing to minimize the impact on my wallet, orange chicken lunch special for just $ 6 even. 15 minutes later during my walk of shame back home, ducking in between the alleys so that noone sees me, I get a whiff of the food and noticed something more savory about it. Is this a good sign? The place did seem to actually be tidied up a bit, there’s a sliding partition between the chefs and the register now, the usual front desk girl is gone(have they hired new people?). I get home and open it up, the fried rice has less soy sauce now and they’ve thrown in eggs and such like better Chinese places. The taste test… it passes! Either they’ve changed recipes or have brought in way better chefs because the fried rice went from garbage to decent enough to compete with the usual Chinese places in the hood. The orange chicken was pretty much the same crap though, albeit you can actually choke it down now. They really know how to make a «chicken sponge» though. It always feels like I’m eating chicken flavored gum or something. Their orange sauce needs a lot of work and they should make the bread on the chicken crispier. Until they improve their entire menu, they won’t be getting that extra star.

I wanted so much to like this place more than just 3 stars. Tried to find as many positives as I could, but still only ended up with 3 but it’s really more 3.5. A little back story, was in wicker with my gf and it was snowing so we just wanted to order delivery. Seems like the closest 10 Chinese places that were open and delivered were all 3.5 stars so it’s kind of just a guess. I was really hungry and this place had ‘fast’ in the name, so I was pretty much sold on that. Called in and ordered out food. Didn’t give an estimate on when they would come, Ended up coming in 20 minutes so that was definitely a plus. One thing that bothered me is that we ordered orange chicken and Mongolian beef. She asked if we wanted the dinner or the big size. We didn’t want a big size since it was just us 2, so we said dinner, not knowing what that meant, just thinking that it was smaller than a big. Dinner means it comes with fried rice, an egg roll and a drink. We didn’t know, and still ordered another order of combo fried rice. Maybe she just thought we love fried rice, but still, we had 4 servings of fried rice pretty much for us 2. Other than that, everything was alright. Decent size food for the price you pay. Full thing was 28 bucks, so take off the extra fried rice and it would have been less than $ 20 for both of us. Orange chicken was good, but has a little bit too much sauce for my liking. The Mongolian beef is a little spicy. I also feel like it doesn’t have enough meat and too much vegetables, but that’s what my girlfriend liked about it. We also got an order of crab ragoons. Those were eh. I prefer mine super crunchy and these were just a little crunchy. and the insides were more cream cheese than crab tasting. If you want fast and easy, then this place is fine.

The 5 years I lived in Chicago, this was my go-to for cheap, comfort, snowy day, putting on a movie Friday night, busting out the sweatpants, go ahead and judge me, leftovers for days, family meal for 1, pay day dinner, «where’s my big cereal bowl?» Chinese food. It is the quintessential Americanized Chinese cuisine executed flawlessly. And on the cheap! Everyone is always so friendly. Especially that old delivery driver, always with the giant grin. Quick service even on the busiest of nights. My favorites from their menu: –Sweet and sour chicken(The batter is ridiculous and the sauce is delivered in a separate container to pour at your discretion. KEY.) –Orange beef or chicken –Combination lo mein –Mongolian beef –Any fried rice of theirs is legit

How’s this for a first review. I have ordered from here a couple of times before and really enjoyed my food, so on my way home, I ordered some Chicken with garlic sauce and pork lo mein. I ended up getting pork with garlic sauce but they got the extra spicy part right, so I was willing to overlook it. I was enjoying my pork lo mein as it was pretty damn good and was made with those americanized lo mein noodles which I appreciate. In one unfortunate bite, everything changed. After putting a chopstick full of lo mein in my mouth and starting to chew, I noticed something was wrong. I got an unwelcome blast of bitterness in my mouth like I’ve never tasted before and instantly spit out the mouthful. I didn’t see anything there, then wiped the remaining bits off my tongue and was horrified. The bitter taste came from A BUG! A tiny, black ladybug looking thing! INMYMOUTH! INMYFOOD! I finally got it all out of my mouth, but needless to say, I was no longer enjoying my lo mein… and sadly won’t be returning because insects in my food is were I draw the line. Damn, I thought this was gonna be my cheap neighborhood Chinese spot. The search continues…

The food is solid, hot, huge, and I have never had a single stomach ache after eating here, which I do almost weekly. Maybe I’ve built up an immunity or maybe I’m just a full on hardcore tough M.F. Probably the latter. Bwahahahaha!!! Enjoy Suckas’!!!
