I honestly did not know it was even possible to make Chinese food THIS flavorless. It tastes like what you’d expect to get at a Chinese restaurant in some far off, podunk town. It tastes like nothing and somehow smells akin to a tub of Crisco. I spent around $ 30 on delivery and the only edible item was the egg roll(which, btw, had something hard in it which I’m HOPING was a chicken bone). The only reason I gave it two stars vs. one is because at least the food seems like it came from a clean place, and they use all white meat /non-fatty chicken. Note: It appears that Chop Sticks is this place operating under a new name:

This is what was formerly Yang’s Chinese. I reviewed them but as they’re closed I figured I could review their new incarnation. A lot hasn’t changed. I’ve been ordering from this place since 2006 — 2007. The food is usually good for a simple take-out faux-Chinese place in America. Most of the time they deliver the food still hot and usually they follow special instructions(NOTSPICY! NOTSPICY!). I’ve had a few times when they didn’t, and a couple of times when the food that arrived had a really extra-vinegar-flavor to it that I didn’t appreciate — different cooks? Overall, though, quite good. I never hesitate to order up some Grub from them when I’m starving and need a bit of fried rice and heart-clogging chicken.

The beef noodle soup here is excellent. For some reason, it’s hard to find good Chinese food outside of Chinatown. This place is the exception. It’s also really convenient(next to the Roosevelt EL stop).

This place has pretty good chinese food. We could have gone to Chinatown for the more authentic stuff, but it was too far to get to so we ended up at Chop Sticks. The restaurant is located right next to the CTA Orange/Green line Roosevelt stop. Super convenient! They have lunch specials and dinner specials at reasonable prices. The portions were also very good. We ordered the Szechuan chicken, Hunan chicken, and mongolian beef dinner special. The food tasted good and it was not overly greasy or salty. Service was fast. They quoted us a 15 – 20 minute wait and when we arrived to pick up our food it was ready for us. The place accepts credit cards with a $ 10 minimum and also delivers. Their carry out menu says you can order online but you really can’t because their website doesnt work. Also their carry out menu has coupons but you can’t use it if you order any specials(like the lunch or dinner special). Definitely my next go to place for Chinese food when I’m craving it and too lazy to go to Chinatown. PS. This place does NOT use MSG. Thats awesome!

I basically hate ALL Chicago Chinese food. I’m a veg and my boyfriend is a manhattanite — thus making us Chinese food snobs. This place is the best. We got Szechuan tofu and veggies, sesame chicken, and assorted egg rolls. Everything was delicious and it took about 7 mins to be ready. Sold! LOVE this place!

Soy sauce. Grease. Almost 24⁄7. Open on Holidays. SPECIALS and COMBO is the best value for $$. MONGOLIANBEEF — a good amount of decently chopped white onions, a few green onions and slimy(as it should be, w/o too much coating, a sign of true chinese cooking ;-)). Lunch Egg Roll was happily accepted and shared with a homeless person while still warm. VENUE — cluttered. Some order in the self service station. Clean sauce spouts. Table cleanup is observed. SERVICE — counter service. One man show.
