Gelato’s and Crêpe’s… mmmm these guys know how to tug the strings of my fatty stomach !! A small place located closer to the 90⁄94 exit on North Ave. I see it all the time driving and decided to go in for breakfast one day. I am glad I did cause ohh boy do they have some interesting choices on the Menu. The selection of sweet and savory crepes is superb and the prices are pretty reasonable. Sometimes in the morning, they have a crêpe and gelato combo which is pretty good. Great neighborhood spot with easy parking. Bonus: There is a tattoo shop right next door, in case you wanted to get inked after the delicious sweet fest !!

HUGECREPEALERT. They make them right in your face! Well not literally but you can see the huge griddle sizzling as they pour the batter out. I got a crêpe with goat cheese and spinach and some ham. Not enough ingredients in the crêpe, I felt overwhelmed by the cheese. But my friend got a nutella and banana one and it was PHENOMENAL! They have really good cappuccinos and lattes too!

Looking for a new twist on brunch today? Then try Crêpe Crave. Cute little place with a massive selection of crepes and gelato. Try the Mexican chorizo crêpe with fresh chorizo, chihuahua cheese, and eggs. Or the mediterranean crêpe with hummus, sun dried tomatoes, and pine nuts served with taziki sauce in the side. For gelato, try the banana foster, toasted coconut with fudge, or mixed berry. Nice friendly staff that makes it a very pleasant experience.

BESTCREPEINTOWN! We came with a groupon and ordered norwegian — very good, loved the salmon and cream cheese. chicken florentine — good, very hearty. nutella banana — REALLY good, a whole banana in the crêpe! The crepes are the best in town because they are made fresh and fast. They are made the same way in Paris and super YUM!!!

Glad this place opened up in the neighborhood. wish I had tried it sooner. It’s a cozy little restaurant, a little dark in the back though. I had the Greek crêpe — had spinach, feta, sun dried tomatoes, garlic and pine nuts. Came with a side of I think some tzatziki, but I’m not sure. The crepes are pretty big. I tasted pretty good — had a lot of cheese, a lot of everything really, but for some reason I started craving some french fries… weird huh? Overall, it was a pretty decent crêpe. To be fair, I really wanted to try both a sweet and a savory crêpe before I reviewed this establishment but the crêpe was too big and I was really full… but in order to be fair I will, mainly because I’ve had crepes before, that have literally left me breathless… this didn’t do it. I think it may have been because my prior crêpe experience has been of the sweet kind… but it was a little too early for so much sugar, so I went the savory route. SO, to Crêpe Crave, I will definitely be back to try the sweet side of the menu. On a side note, that Illy coffee they serve is some good stuff!

I think they put cocaine in my savory crêpe. I don’t remember the name of the crêpe I ordered but it had eggs, bacon and cheddar cheese with a little cup of sour cream on the side. When mom and I order, we normally get one sweet crêpe and one savory one so I had half and it blew my mind. The eggs were fluffy and full of flavor(you’re like«what?! Eggs don’t have flavor!» but I assure you these did), the bacon was crispy and they added the perfect amount of cheese. I would come here again for the savory crêpe but the sweet one… not so much. I ordered the sweet cheese crêpe with raspberries and I didn’t care for it at all. Had I known the sweet cheese was going to have the consistency of old, dried caulk I wouldn’t have ordered it. The raspberries didn’t add anything by the way of moisture and who wants a dry crêpe? I really like this place for savory, breakfast type of foods but for dessert you’re better off walking across the street and indulging in Indulge.

Crepes are amazing for breakfast, lunch or dinner, even dessert! I went with a savory Mediterranean Chic Crêpe; hummus, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic & pine nuts smeared on an open faced crêpe and then folded up. It was served with a cucumber yogurt sauce. The hubby went with a Classic Breakfast Crêpe; eggs with bacon and cheddar served with sour cream. After ordering, we picked a table and waited. It wasn’t too busy, 2 other tables were full. We waited and waited. Enjoyed sipping on our Lattes, while waiting some more. We finished our Lattes and waited more yet. About 30 minutes after ordering, we were served. Kind of a long time to wait for a crêpe. But we had nothing but time to kill, however my stomach was not too thrilled with the wait. My Mediterranean Crêpe was okay but the Classic was better. There were bigger flavors and more substance to it.

The lunch crepes were very tasty with the sauce. I just couldn’t get full on one crêpe and at $ 9, I guess I’d have to spend a little bit more to get a full feeling. Now the chocolate crêpe with chocolate almond gelato was incredible and this is the reason for my 4 stars. I will definitely be back, crepes with gelato– this is totally wonderful and unexpectedly refreshing!

Been here once with a living social coupon and I’m glad I gave it a try. I was in the area and remembered the coupon and decided to stop by for a snack. Ever since magic pan closed down in Northbrook, I’ve been pretty upset that there weren’t any local crêpe areas. This place is a bit of a drive for me, but I think it’s worth every penny. I decided to get the sweet cheese and strawberry crêpe and it was delicious! Fruit was sweet and wasn’t tart at all and that cheese was oh so yummy. I was also able to try the greek egg breakfast crêpe and it was even better than the sweet crêpe. Feta, egg, yummy sauce, and spinach = goodness. Overall, this place is awesome and can’t wait to go back!

The name pretty much describes my feeling about crepes. I don’t know if it would be possible for me to ever get sick of eating them and I’m glad more creperies have started peppering the city. When I saw a Groupon for $ 20 of food at Crêpe Crave, I knew I had to snap it up. I met a friend here for a long overdue crêpe date. I’ve only recently discovered the advantage of crêpe dining à deux — more crepes for everyone! For approximately $ 22 we were able to order 2 savory crepes, a coffee and split one sweet crêpe. We placed our entire order at once and asked them to hold our sweet crêpe until we had finished our savory ones with no problem. For my savory crêpe, I went with the Greek crêpe –feta with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, pine nuts, garlic & olive oil. Generous with the ingredients, the crêpe was delicious, flavorful and soft, it put the bland, crunchy(yes, crunchy — ew) one I had at La Creperie a few weeks back to shame. The Greek is something I would definitely order again. My dining partner got the Chicken Florentine crêpe and seemed to enjoy it as well. For our sweet crêpe we ordered one with chocolate and bananas. The plating was pretty; little puffs of whipped cream, slices of bananas and chocolate drizzled on top. The crêpe tasted as good as it looked, although my I wish they offered a dark chocolate option as I would’ve preferred that to milk chocolate. The place is on the small side; there were a few tables and a couch for enjoying your food. Service was friendly and they didn’t seem to mind us lingering. This is a creperie I plan on returning to and devouring some more tasty crepes.

Crêpe places seem to be popping up everywhere these days and that makes me happy as I’ve been a fan of crepes since I was little and my mom would take me to the Magic Pan for every milestone. It was my favorite restaurant growing up and I still get a lump in my throat whenever I walk on that stretch of Walton Street. Crêpe Crave is cute little place that serves up both sweet and savory crepes, all made fresh to order. My advice is go with at least one other person so you can try both their sweet and savory versions. Trust me that you’ll still have a difficult time deciding on options. You can also customize your fillings if you can’t make up your mind from the bevy of choices. We went with a ‘Napoleon’ and a sweet cheese with raspberries. The crepes took about ten minutes and we wanted to enjoy them there and we were lucky enough to be able to sit on the love seat and leisurely enjoy our lunch. The crepes were pretty authentic(at least as far as I can tell); they use buckwheat flour in the batter, and the crepes are thin. Both were delicious and perfect for a light lunch. The Napoleon was brie, ham and dijon mustard. I’d have preferred more brie and less ham — there just wasn’t enough brie to make the filling«gluey,» so the ham kind of fell out when you cut into it, so that’s my only complaint. The dijon mustard must have been the real-deal-French kind as it was sinus clearing and had much more of a bite than Grey Poupon. The sweet cheese and raspberry was also a pleasant surprise in that they used fresh raspberries in the filling. The filling was creamy and light, and the berries were a nice tart complement to the sweet cheese. Both crepes were gobbled up and plates were scraped. I only wish we’d gotten a third one, but it just gives me more incentive to come back and try more. Other items of note: they also serve illy coffee and the staff was very sweet. Can’t wait to return!

Truth in advertising is important. Crepes, yes. Crave, no. I just can’t muster the strength to get very excited about this place. I like crepes. In eighth grade, our district got hit with some after-the-fact guidelines and the ‘smart’ kids had to be more integrated to the rest of the school. So, in addition to orchestra and French, I had to make time in my day for Health(in addition to P.E.), shop and home ec. In home ec, I had my first curvature of the spine test(I was alright but it set off a lifetime of hypochondria), learned how to make the best sweet tea in the bluegrass state and became a wizard at making crepes. I’m good, y’all. Really. My batter is good, my wrist technique is sick… and this doesn’t sound like food, does it? Well, it is pervos. So, barring a master class from Jacques Pepin, I’m going to go with my crepes. Every time. As it happened, I was in Wicker Park without my crêpe maker. Since my party was in the mood for crepes, we settled on crêpe crave. Being breakfast, I decided on the Classic: bacon, cheese and egg. It was alright. I sort of forgot about it after I was done eating. It filled me up for the time being and didn’t upset my stomach. Inoffensive. That’s the word: inoffensive. Would you go out of your way for inoffensive food that you could make yourself(or, better)? I wouldn’t. But, that’s just me.

Ce café me rappelle de la France! This place provides very nice treats on hot summer AND cold winter days. The crepes are delicious and made-to-order. They have a huge variety of choices or you can just pick your own. Take it to go, or eat in house. The gelato is also delicious and they have a pretty large selection of frozen treats for every fancy. As far as I know, they only take CASH so come prepared. Indulge yourself and get a dinner and dessert crêpe. Mmmm…

very clean establishment very friendly staff very cheap AND yummy fare very awesome lunch specials we’re talking 10a-4p lunch specials of dollar nutella crêpes, free drink or chips, dollar soup, and my personal favorite: friday’s sweet deal of a free gelato scoop.* the sweet crêpes definitely trump the savory crêpes, but only because i can get savory crêpes in dc for twice the size. however, no flavor is lost and, more importantly, the ingredients are evenly spread inside of your crêpe(a common problem that makes me wary of trying new crêperies). i love how mindful the crêpe chef was — she didn’t make our sweet crêpe until she saw we finished our savory ones, so it was hot and fresh when she served it. and i’m pretty sure the funky monkey crêpe changed my life. will definitely be back. – *with the purchase of any crêpe.

Came here with Kara K. ready to dig into some delicious hot crepes. We placed our order with the friendly lady at the front counter: Me — Chevre bliss, S’mores; Kara — Napoleon, The Swirl. After placing our orders we sat ourselves down on the couch to chat while waiting. And we waited, and waited, and waited, and… eh yo, wth!!! Finally, Kara, feeling there’s no way crepes should take that long, got up and said something. It seems our orders must have been forgotten even though the place is small and they couldn’t possibly be backed up with orders. The crepemaker then said he would get on them. We worked out that we had been waiting about 30mins for our orders. We got an apology, but that won’t give us that time back. Once our crepes arrived, we got right to business. I was immediately displeased with the fact that the turkey in my Chevre Bliss was cubed; mini-cubed. The goat cheese wasn’t all that either. It was missing a lot of the tang I love about goat cheese. I wasn’t feeling this crêpe, but as hungry as I was, I finished it. What? It wasn’t bad, just not titillating. The S’mores crêpe made up for the Chevre Bliss ten fold. Milk chocolate with marshmallows and graham cracker bits enveloped neatly inside the crêpe. Yummmmmmmy!!! I honestly feel not all crepes are created equally. Some crêpe place’s crepes work better for savory, while others work best with dessert. I feel Crêpe Crave’s crepes excel with dessert. Perfect marriage. I had a bit of Kara’s The Swirl as well. Excellent. I will definitely be back for dessert crepes. You can get a side of Grand Marnier for your dessert crepes, and I’d Iove to try that on some of the other ones. I also think I’ll give their breakfast crepes a shot before I completely write them off for savory. Update guaranteed!

Admittedly, I’m not a «breakfast person». I like my coffee on weekdays(two back-to-back cups), and on the weekends, I like to sleep in. Pancakes and waffles? Never. Because, I don’t like heavy foods that expand in my stomach. And isn’t breakfast supposed to jump start your day instead of weighing it down? Finally, there’s the sweet vs. savory question. Lunch and dinner are simple, and then dessert is an entirely separate deal. But breakfast… ah, the torment! Sugar or salt… carbs and protein. Please don’t force me to make decisions this early in the day! And then, there were crepes. The great compromise! They’re thin, you can fill them with just about anything, and they’re not just for breakfast anymore. Win-win-win! To top it off, Crêpe Crave also offers gelato(I’m not into ice cream much either, but LOVE gelato). However, last Friday morning I was definitely on the prowl for crepes and decided to go with the sweet cheese with strawberries. I loved the mildly sweet cheese filling with fresh strawberries, and the portion size was just right for me(read: not excessive). Crêpe Crave brews Illy coffee from Italy(yes, I am a fan) and they also carry Nantucket Nectars juice… being my indecisive self, I had to have both. Though I did enjoy me crêpe selection, I’ll have to try the«Classic» next time: bacon, egg and cheddar. My co-worker Johnny T practically hid his plate from me, I was eyeballing it so hard! I guess this means I have to return… okay!

Jelena Z has been on the search for yummy crepes that rival her favorite place back home in St Louis. Since Johnny T and I are such good friends we offered to help her find the best crepes in Chicago… starting with Crêpe Crave! Since I hadn’t heard of Crêpe Crave before I figured it was brand new, but when we walked into this tiny little restaurant there were fliers mentioning that they were about to celebrate their 1st anniversary. Clearly I“ve been missing out on crêpe fun! And gelato fun cause they have lots of that too. Savory or sweet? Indeed a tough decision when it comes to crepes, but I opted for the sweet cheese crêpe filled with strawberries. Afterall, it’s never too early for dessert… even at 11am. Jelena ordered the same thing, while Johnny went the savory route– filled with eggs among other stuff, but I have no doubt he’ll Unilocal about it. All 3 crepes and drinks(they have Nantucket Nectars for fellow fans) came to only $ 25. My crêpe was very tasty, but think there may be better ones out there. Jelena mentioned it wasn’t nearly as good as her place back in St Louis. And so the search for the perfect Chicago crepes continues. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

We stopped in for the first time yesterday. I got the special crêpe with sausage, cheddar, tomato, and egg. She got The Norwegian with smoked salmon and cream cheese. Then we got the Funky Monkey with nutella and peanut butter, and banana. All of them were great. GREAT I tell you. She found the drip coffee to be a little weak, but the nice lady behind the counter dropped a shot of espresso in to make it a little stronger. The gelato was really good too.

Went in the mid-morning time, for a snack. Really liked the menu, and how diverse it was, but at the same time, there wasn’t really much changes in between the crepes. I had the Raspberry Jam crêpe, since my boyfriend made a decision without giving me time to look at the menu. Next time, I’ll probably order something from the savory side, just to see.

What’s flat, carby, and stuffed inside? Mmmm… crepes!!! This was actually my first time venturing out of my comfort zone of sweet crepes, but the risk was well worth it! Ordered up the classic breakfast crêpe w/egg & bacon. Totally hit the spot, was filling without being to heavy. Crepes are definitely a bit thicker than I’m used to, next time will request them to make mine a skinny! Surprisingly great customer service here granted that it’s one of those order @ the counter eateries. They’ll still walk your order out to your table w/a smile! Things to crave about this creperie: *free wifi *generously sized crepes… actually had to take half of mine home! *one long plush leather couch *cute plastic utensils that have a silver tint *glass bottled Cokes… I’m a Coke-aholic! *great selection of teas… mmm…green tea mango! *they have gelato too… will have to sample on my next visit
