I work across the street from Don Chema. My co-​workers and I order for pick-​up almost everyday. In the morning, I usually get café con leche (hot or iced depending on the weather) and it is always delicious along with breakfast sandwich which is amazing, or huevos con chorizo. For lunch or dinner I usually get a steak sandwich, tacos, or a burrito. Don’t get me started on the steak nachos, they are ridiculously good. I haven’t tried anything yet that I didn’t like. They are a bit pricey, but the portions are large and the quality is great. The spicy green sauce is the best I have ever had, no joke, it tastes great on everything.

I work on a taco truck, so I can fairly be accused of suffering taco burnout; I’m thus not capable of commenting on Don Chema’s most famous item. However, I can definitely testify that much of the rest of their menus is good solid Latin: excellent burritos (the suiza is tasty and well prepared, and the pastor is done creatively), good vegetarian options, and excellent sides. Their delivery is quick and friendly, and the place lacks polish but has fine service and a reliable, well-​stocked bar. Definitely one of the better options around the area. Also a very choice late-​night option thanks to their hours. And that name! Viva Don Chema!

My boyfriend and I have lived in Logan square practically forever and we came in today to check it out. I had one of the best micheladas EVER. No joke. The girl working around 5pm on 1⁄25 really knows her stuff lol. The food was bomb dot com! My boyfriend had a tilapia dinner and I had a steak torta. The green sauce. Try the green sauce. Take it to go. Buy a gallon. The green sauce. shoutout to the cooks for holding it down in Logan square.

Stopped in while waiting for the next bus to come by. Got one pastor taco to go. Let me tell you, they hooked it up! That was one fat taco for $ 2.50. $ 0.50 more than what I usually pay in Humboldt Park, but it was a biggun and the location is convenient.
There are bits of pineapple in the pastor! And little bits of fat here and there, which I love. The delicious salsa verde they included was smooth textured and pale colored.
It was also packaged so neatly and courteously with a heavy duty napkin, limes, salt packet, salsa and fork.
Will stop by for more pineapple flecked pastor tacos another day!

It’s a semi hole-​in-​the-​wall place, and I was almost stuck in the women’s bathroom because of that d*mn door wouldn’t open like it should!
However, I still like Don Chema, a lot. They have decent horchata, tasty menudo, delicious vegetarian burrito suizo, and great gorditas.
They charge a bit more than other competitors in the city. Well, it’s Logan Square, so allow inflation to occur because those hipsters don’t freakin’ mind!
Not to mention that CTA California Blue Line station is one (1) block away, south of Don Chema, just in case you need a place to crash to wash down all that alcohol in the system.
Don Chema does open late: 12am (Sunday through Thursday); 2am (Friday through Saturday).

Order two taco dinners. A bit pricy but what do you expect when the food is good quality. Not only do you get what you pay for its plenty food! You can tell the igredients are fresh and the salsas are really good. My first time today and was recommended by a friend! We will be going back soon!

I had a burrito… I don’t recall which one anymore, but the quality was great (tasted good and homemade – not always an easy feat). And, the prices were great.

Great tasting tacos Al Pastor (pork). They are not simmered in a pork stew thus your taco stays intact till the last bite. The steak (carne asada) is below average… no taste. Good service, but the steak taste needs improvement. The chips seem to be fried in heavy oil.

Their food is great and this is another of my favorite spots when I am in the neighborhood. Sometimes I am hesitant because of one of their waitresses that I believe does not work there anymore but other than that Ive been coming here since I was little and I must say they have improved so much. Its a small and cozy place

Excellent value for $$. A dish easily serves 2. Open till 3 am with every dish you can think of from carne asada to shrimp cocktail. Great selection of cervezas including Victoria.
Chips and 3 kinds of salsas — gratis
Long Island Iced Tea — pretty good for $ 4.
Margarita Pitcher for $ 15 is also available.
Steak and 2 eggs ($ 10) — steak is perfect. Juicy, moist and good seasoning. Eggs are great for hangover.
Service — not bad. Pack you own brown bag. Boo hoo. Slight miscommunication.
