I tried out this spot with my Friday Lunch Crew, and it has earned is place in the rotation. Why? It’s a hybrid, not an authentic Mexican taqueria, but not Chipotle. I got the nachos for lunch with jerk chicken, and it was awesome. Better than Chipotle because of the nacho option, and it taste waaay better than Burrito Beach. A bonus that the nachos came in a nifty take out container, in case there are any nachos left. Nacho leftovers? Never heard of it.

Very good. Nice décor. I got the chicken tacos with rice and it was excellent. The rice is very flavorful and sticky with bits of carrots and peas, I love it this way. They have an iPad for a register and paying is fast and easy. If paying by CC you sign with your finger. They are very efficient and I seen five guys hustling orders in the kitchen. Been there twice but got the same thing both times. Very hard to deviate from the chicken. They serve you the rice in a container piping hot. They also have extra salsa you can buy. Try the spicy pineapple, chunks of pineapple with red onions and chili. Excellent. My tacos were so hot in couldn’t pick them up. This is my new favorite tacos place bye bye chipotle. Do not get the tamales. They are horrible. Mine was hard like a rock and very dry.

Three words: Jerk Chicken Tacos. So flavorful, so spicy, and so on point. We’ve gotten delivery from them, and it has always been tasty and flavorful. Def a surprise that paid off for us, and great service.

Best tacos and salsa in Chicago. Jerk chicken and tinga all the way. That avocado cream salsa is on point!

Gem of a spot to get authentic Mexican in a modern, comfortable setting. The tacos are incredible — the carnitas, in particular, are some of the best I’ve ever had. Freshly made chips and guacamole, and horchata also come highly recommended. Definitely making Don Fresco a regular stop!

Stoped by after work on a friday, it was early so no crowd and proceeded to order a basic meal. Steak burrito and Horchata. Have to admit I was surprised at how good the burrito was. Simple but easy to get wrong, they got it right and got a new customer in return.

I came here for dinner one night and breakfast another day(chorizo burritos both times). Both meals were great, tasty, and filling. The staff was nice and while the atmosphere is rather spartan, it was comfortable. I wish they served beer. I’d be a regular if I lived close.

Through the social media person on Instagram, I found out that this restaurant is around the corner from where I work. Went in one evening after work and while it has a nice fast food feel to it, the food tastes exactly like what you’d get from a taqueria where only Spanish-speaking people go. Elote. Quesadilla. Tamale with chicken. Chips and guacamole. The elote is not on a cob, but it’s all good. The quesadilla and tamale were my favourites. The chips are made in-house and the guacamole is how I like it: chunky. I must admit that I was afraid this was going to be almost Chipotle style Mexican food, but it reminded me so much of the food my Mexican neighbours share. It’s authentic and that is a good thing.

I like this place! The prices are reasonable and the chicken Nacho’s were tasty. They came with lots of toppings and the portion size was decent. This place isn’t big, but most people seem to be taking their meals to go so lots of empty tables for those looking to dine in.

Really glad they moved in across the street from us! The food is really fresh-something I’m not sure I really appreciated before but having eaten from there 3 times now I can genuinely say that I really appreciate the quality of the food, both breakfast and dinner!

Jerk. Tinga. Pastor. Repeat. These guys have amazing tacos! Everything I have had was delicious. Ive had the pastor, jerk, Tinga, asada, zucchini and a few more. Basically they are an authentic taqueria with a modern feel. I’ve been to latinicity, el patron, and pretty much every taco place in the city and have to say this place is legit. One day I ordered 3x! Addicting.

Worse food of my life. Who thinks that fajitas don’t come with quac or salsa or even the tortillas??? My fajitas were made up of brown beans and large cut(somewhat sautéed vegetables) after a good 45 min wait. The people working there are confused as to what goes with what. There is no sense of sidings or substitutions. You can’t request any changes in the menu or get anything added. I also wanted to get chips and salsa — who runs out of chips in the middle Of the day when it’s only 2 pm and you are in a prime location at a Mexican food place. Never ever going again.

Finally an upscale taquería! Everything is high quality and prepared with a gourmet touch. I love the pastor and tinga de pollo, and of course hot churros!

Much better that other places around. Tasty. Came with friends from the office. Had the tilapia taco special. Friends had the jerk chicken taco and the chicken mole tamale. Spot on. Will come again.

Great addition to the neighborhood. Service is still working out the kinks, but the food is fresh, well seasoned, and so much better than you would expect. The al pastor, tinga chicken, and guacamole were all very good. I will definitely return.

I ordered a steak burrito and the price is $ 8.95 not out of hand for a burrito. When I receive my food I was quite disappointed I have had tacos that have had more meat than this burrito. After eating my $ 14 meal I’m still hungry. Food tastes good portions were just to small.

I live down the street and was really excited for this place to open. It opened this week so I went there, and it did not disappoint — food was SO good. I had the chili relleno and street corn, my husband had the burrito. Both were super. I’m also excited they have breakfast and am looking forward to trying that. It’s not fast food — so if you plan to go over lunch when it might be busy you should probably call ahead if you can’t wait for your food.

If you’re looking for fresh, healthy Mexican, this is your place! Just had some chicken tacos… soooo delicious! Toppings were all very fresh and tasty. I also shared a guac and housemade chips(yum) with my 2 yr old son and he eventually just ditched the chips and grabbed a spoon… couldn’t get enough. lol! Interior is trendy, contemporary and LOVE the artwork. Can’t wait to go back!!!
