Egh… You really can’t beat the happy hour $ 1 Bud/Bud Lights and the fried pickles were good, but that’s about it for me. — $ 2 well drinks are pointless unless you’re a big fan of soda and soda — The chicken wrap had about one chicken tender in it and a bushel of kale — The burger is ok… but don’t get bacon on it. It was crispy nothingness — They kept changing TVs seemingly at random, but the place was deserted — Bathroom smelled clean but the floor was sticky — Apparently the sound system is difficult as it constantly oscillated between the various broadcasts, music, and the trivia question. Volume went up and down which isn’t great when you’re right next to a speaker — Staff was nice, but incredibly slow. And again, the place was a ghost town so no reason for it I would probably come back since happy hour is so cheap, but other than that it isn’t great.

My friends and I came to celebrate a bday. The place is pretty awesome, clean, pretty cool service. They have big plasma TVs but it’s very empty on a Monday. I think it would be a way better choice to come on a weekend day. The one thinG I really like is the price. They have good specials for the food and drinks. Even though it’s empty, we still had an amazing time…

They were not accommodating at ALL and so careless they didn’t tend to everyone who needed a brunch wristband nor did we get silverware !

We grabbed some dinner here after hiking Starved Rock Canyon. I knew this place was a gem when we walked in the door to «hotel California» coming out of the speakers. My fiancé had a burger with blue cheese crumbles, sauted mushrooms, and onions. I had the Reuben with real corned beef, thousand island dressing, sauerkraut, and horseradish. We both agreed that are meals were fabulous. Although we’d never heard of their Duffy Dark beer, it was fabulous! Their French friends were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We’ll bring future guests here when we hike!

I’ve been lucky to live in several different cities and each of them have their own version of trailer trash, townies, rednecks, hillbillies, hicks, or bridge and tunnel crowds. If you’re an anthropologist and care to observe such a culture, come to Duffy’s. It was a quiet Sunday and my friend and I stopped into Duffy’s to get a bite and a beer. We sat in the front room at one end of the bar and at the other end sat 2 girls and 2 guys — the trailer trash etc. I can’t remember the last time I heard such a loud, obnoxious, and inconsiderate bunch who thought they were the only people in the restaurant. It was just non-stop for the time we were there. I’ve also been here once before watching a Bears game. I sat next to two girls and had a nice conversation with them. It took them until half-time to notice that I was wearing a Patriots jersey and started yelling and swearing at the top of their lungs about deflategate to which I asked them if they wanted to have an intellectual discussion over it instead of yelling at me and they responded, «You think we’re not smart? you think you’re better than us?» You get the point. Other than that, Duffy’s is a large place with a modern décor in the front and well the back needs to be updated. Food is average and not too pricey. They do have a great deal on brunch with all you can eat buffet and mimosas.

This place smells like straight up piss. All. The. Time. We’re talking Red Line caliber musky eau de urine. It’s absolutely repulsive. The staff is mega friendly though, I would give them 5 stars.

Better than average sports bar in Lakeview, I was impressed with all the craft beers they had on tap, way more than usual. And that month all Goose Island drafts were $ 4, and on Wednesday they had quarter wings,(you have to order 10 though) I got them with teriyaki sauce, good stuff, not the biggest wings, I’m not sure how packed it gets on weekends, but there’s a lot of space, so hopefully it doesn’t get too cramped, I’d be willing to go back

The service here is terrible, I came for lunch today and order a grilled cheese… it came an hour later. We also had to go up to 3 different servers to get our drinks, which came 20 min later. Then we went to the bar to get shots of Jameson and the bartender said that they ran out. Seriously? What bar runs out of Jameson?

Recently went to Duffy’s for my apartment company party. We had a blast. The bar had a live band karaōke. There was also drinks and appetizers included for residents. I haven’t been to Duffy’s before attending this event, but I defiantly want to check it out again. Great food, drinks, and wonderful staff. The manager was so nice. Came up and spoke to my friend and I. It was very thoughtful. Can’t wait to go back again!

Went here on Sunday to check out the all-you-can-eat buffet and mimosa special, watch some football and enjoy the company of friends from out of town. We were quickly sat by an indifferent manager/host. I asked him about 10 minutes after sitting if he thought our server would be by soon. He informed me there was one server on(for what I’m assuming is their busiest day), that she was, in fact, busy and would be by when she could. Totally fine. What was not fine was our server tending to our surrounding tables and completely avoiding eye contact. More than once. Not even a «Be right with you!» It’s one thing to be busy, it’s another to be intentionally negligent. And the manager/host, knowing his server was too busy to pay appropriate attention to her section, should have been a team player and at least brought her tables water, set them up with wristbands for the buffet, helped bus, anything. If you are an establishment that has a rock star server who can handle 10 tables alone, more power to you. If not, please staff accordingly.

They just opened, Came in and the restaurant was extremely hot. My boyfriend and I contemplated leaving because of that. So we decided to get a couple of cold beers to help us forget about the heat inside the bar. We ordered the on-special Kona Big Wave Pale Ale. When we received the room-temperature beer, we asked the server to grab us new ones, she came back with cold-er beers, still not cold. That was disappointing. My boyfriend ordered a Bacardi diet, which was flat. He asked for a new one, that was yet again flat. She came back and asked us if the beers and drink were better, frustrated and hungry, we just said yes, unwilling to wait to receive yet another warm beer. We ordered the buffalo wings, standard In a bar, they were good. Then I ordered a burger medium-rare, it was delivered to me well done, dry and needed some seasoning. The fries were good, I believe they hard garlic on them. My boyfriend had the chicken salad with chipotle dressing, there was nothing special about it. I don’t believe I’ll be back for warm beer or okay food.

I visited this establishment on a night where there was a singing competition going on. HOWFESTIVE! I felt like I was watching live American Idol auditions(shade intended). What was even better was that when I came in late, I could still order food. I only ordered sweet potato fries because everything else on the menu was rather pricy and I’ve learned my lesson not to bother with pricy bar food late night. The sweet potato fries were delicious!!! Piping hot and fresh. The waitresses were all ready to serve my needs(even though I didn’t have any). I felt well taken care of. I’m sure that this venue is also really fun to be in for events other than singing competitions too. Its pretty spacious and the drink prices are relatively cheap for its location. I look forward to going back

I haven’t been here for a Michigan game or brunch but when I moved to Chicago and my TV wasn’t hooked up yet, this place was nearby so I came in for a few Wisconsin games. The taco appetizer is really good and can make for a solid entrée. Lots of good beers. Came back with some Michigan friends in town since I thought they’d get a kick out of it. They loved the extensive alcohol selection. Lastly came with parents for lunch. They thought the bloody Mary’s were excellent. I do agree with some people that said it can get loud. Even in off times it seems like the noise just bounces around but at the end of the day, it is still a bar so some noise will be involved.

I am afraid and grossed out at Duffy’s cleanliness with drinks. I order a hard cider on tap and it tasted like coconut. Obviously another mixed drink was in that glass before I used it. Then I asked for a Pepsi, which was not only flat, but didn’t taste like Pepsi! I’m afraid to think it was another dirty glass, an old case of syrup, or something in the soda nozzle. Food was decent, and my server was nice. But the other servers and bartender didn’t even look at me when I walked in. The sign said wait to be seated, which apparently wasn’t true, but not even a hello! I had to grab a table and ask if it was okay to seat myself. Overall, I’m so disappointed. I won’t go back.

If you want a good time, great drinks, and better food Duffy’s is the place to be. The employees were helpful and me and the boys from home had a great time here last Friday. All you can drink and eat from 7 – 11 pm will leave you sated, and ready to paint the town red. They have a pretty good draft beer selection, which is my jam. They recently started picking up Local Option brews, and Blood ov the Kings will have you howling real quick. I love this bar!!! It’s a pretty nice place to stop for lunch too, especially with summer rolling in. Take a walk in Lincoln Park, crush some drives at the Diversey Range, and then crush some drafts at Duffy’s. I haven’t had a bad time at this bar.

Came to watch the Mayweather-Pacquiao on Saturday, and surprised to say this place exceeded my expectations. The interiors were nice, and there a lot of tv screens, so it’s great for watching sporting events. The customer service was very friendly, and quick. Our server never forgot us, even though the place was filled with tons of people. The drinks were good, the bar food tasted like cheap bar food. The washrooms were clean at the beginning, however towards the end of the night it became gross. Overall, a good experience, I would recommend this place for hanging out with friends and even for dancing.

Went here for brunch a couple days ago. Bad idea. The music/TV was so loud, it was impossible to have a conversation, plus it gave me a headache. It was only noon and they were supposedly already out of coffee. That alone caused a couple of my friends to leave, and in hindsight, I should have left with them. The food was mediocre, and the service was atrocious. The waitress seemed to go out of her way to avoid our group. She would walk around us to serve the table in front of us and totally ignore us. Some of my friends received one drink and never got a second, even though the mimosas were supposed to be «bottomless». I had to wait 30 min just to ask for my check, and then I had to wait another 20 min to actually get the check. tl;dr Don’t eat here unless you want to be ignored by your waitress and have to shout if you want to have a conversation.

This is one of my favorite places to go. It has a great brunch and great weekday deals. Not too expensive at all, and their remodeled front room provides a nicer atmosphere. If you’re in the area and want a decent sports bar, I would check out Duffy’s.

This place is a dump. It’s a pig in a dress. Aesthetically the place is o.k. Nothing special but decent. And that’s the best I can say about it. I was a regular here when it opened 14 – 15 years ago, and it was great. The food was some of the best bar food in the city. The drink pours were generous. The staff was friendly and did a great job. That lasted 5 – 6 years, and since then it has been one long downward spiral. They passed mediocrity 5 – 6 years ago. The food is crap and the service is worse. The last time I was there, the hostess got so drunk she puked. Our server couldn’t keep our orders straight. 2 of the 5 meals were incorrect. The bartender(who we had to go see because our server disappeared for about 20 minutes) was a COMPLETE douche whose only concern was getting chicks at the bar drunk in hopes one of them would lower their standards enough to make a mistake with him. The time before that, the buffet was a shadow of its former self. It actually used to be decent food, one of the better buffets around. Now it’s just tables of shlock. I cannot think of one thing that this place offers that you can’t get better somewhere else. A lot better.

I went to this bar a lot when I was getting my undergrad at DePaul University. I never saw it super crowded which was always nice. They make pretty good drinks and the atmosphere is pretty nice. I’ve always had good service and the bartenders are quick and make very yummy drinks. Recently I went here for their New Years Eve party with a few friends. I have to say I was impressed. Although we had to stand the entire time(which most small places do in order to create space) and my feet hated me for standing in heels, the ambiance was nice. They had an ice sculpture of 2015 which was awesome and the music was good. They played a nice blend of contemporary music and older hits that brought back some pretty good memories. The part which surprised me the most was the AMAZING food. They had bacon wrapped scallops, juicy chicken, cheese burgers on a pretzel bun, southwest egg rolls, and a chocolate fondue fountain. Everything was delicious and I was stuffed by the end of the night. Our waitress was phenomenal too. She was prompt and asked us what we wanted to drink instead of us having to flag her down which was a welcome change from most New Year’s eve nights at a bar. The whiskey sours were great! One negative aspect was the dance floor. It was small and elevated which means if it got too crowded and someone decided to push you off on accident there was a serious chance of a sprained ankle that wouldn’t have been the fault of alcohol or 5 inch heels. Overall I would recommended this place for a low key night with some pretty tasty drinks.

This place is pretty dang huge, and has a regular sports bar in the front and a giant room in the back with many T.Vs. The bartenders were polite, the bouncers courteous, and the atmosphere was odd… it was like a mix between a frat party and an irish pub… But for the north side, I’ll take it!

This bar is okay I guess if you are an undergrad or just graduated recently or if you are already drunk. It is basically a sports bar but you kind of feel like you are in a college party which can either be a good thing or a bad thing depending again on how you are feeling at a given moment ha ha They have an okay beer selection and cheap bud light(again college party like!) and on tuesdays they have $ 2 tacos which I guess is a good deal but they only looked so so to me. But this place let our large party just hang out and drink and have a dandy time and the service was pretty on top of things with making sure we got refills and all of that. And the bathrooms were clean too which is a bonus – but granted I was there on a weeknight so I imagine this could be a whole different ball game on a Friday or Saturday night. So if you are in the area and looking for a bar this definitely fits that bill and definitely has some great people watching options too!

BEWARE of the SHADY bartenders! I was there about 2 weeks ago and hung out with friends at the front bar. When I went to tab out at the end of the night, I went to pay my tab(4 beers only) and was told by the bartender that he «lost» my tab. When I said he had my card at the register he magically found the tab but charged me only for 1 beer and not 4. After stating that that was incorrect, my tab should be more, he WINKED at me like he was doing me a favor. Well my stupid morals got the best of me and I added $ 15 to my $ 6 tab so I could justify still paying what I owe, roughly. A few days later I looked at my online bank statement and not only was my charge of $ 21 on there that I authorized, but magically my tab was found and an UNAUTHORIZED charge of $ 18 was also there. The bartender knew my tab was there the whole night. He was trying to clearly get a big tip. Emailed the manager that week and STILL haven’t heard back. Luckily my bank refunded the money but all you future patrons, beware!

Came in with a group of 10 – 12 at 7 pm on a Tuesday night a few weeks ago. Place was pretty sparse and it was dollar burger night. Our waitress was barely seen, and one friend tried his burger and sent it right back after one bite due to its horrible taste. It took 45 minutes for six or seven people’s food to come out, while mine and another friend’s never did.(In fact, despite waiting an hour for my lamb burger, which never came, another friend showed up way late, ordered and got her food in five minutes.) So two of us cancelled our orders, left and went to get food somewhere else. And we were happy we did. At one point, the manager told one member of our group that the waitress was new. OK… I’ll give her some leeway. But that doesn’t mean she’s left on her own or that the chef can’t provide ten people their food within an hour.
