I purposefully went here to give my business to a smaller place, aka not the home depot a few doors down and both times ive gone there, the store looks closed and the employee walks from the back office seeming annoyed that someone walked in. He made a key for me without saying a word or a thank you. Needless to say my business went to home depot(sigh)

I echo others’ sentiments regarding the excellent service here. And I vouch that traditional hardware stores can offer(despite their smaller size and apparent mess) a greater variety of products than the otherwise«impressive» big-box stores.

This place is an actual hardware store, not a behemoth corporation catering to the masses and their«needs». In the past two months I’ve needed actual hardware — an odd shaped plumbing fixture, and a light diffuser for a fluorescent lamp. Home Depot looked at me like I had three heads. I walked down the street and decided to give this hole in the wall hardware store a shot. Both times he knew exactly what I was looking for, and had it in stock. He also insisted on giving me a discount because the diffuser was a little dusty. Shop local, shop Mom and Pop. There’s a real difference.

Not a bad little hardware store. They cut a piece of glass for me, which the Home Depot didn’t feel obliged to do. It’s small and kind of a mess, so I can’t vouch for its quality for the purpose of coming in to browse around, but I’m sure that if you come in on a mission, they will be able to help you out.

A solid, old school hardware store. I was looking for some screws and I did not want to deal with the Home Depot nightmare up the street so I thought. Hey, there is an actual hardware store across the street. Duh, you big dummy. Why are you bothering with that damn Home Depot parking structure nightmare? Walked in and the gentleman seemed so glad to see me! I like that. At the HD they are just cash register zombies. He led me right to the screws and we bantered back and forth on which size to get and how they would work. He knew what the heck he was talking about! I like that too! Someone who would question me? Not just tell me what I wanted to hear to get me out of the store? I like that more. See where this is going, the screws worked and even though I only spent a couple of dollars, I will always come back to this store because of the service and I will always choose to spend my money with a small business rather than give it to a large corporation. You should too. Shop here before you go to Home Depot. It is on the way…

Been shopping at Edwards for decades. Yes, decades. Sensational customer service. Great recommendations. Prices competitive with the big box down the street.

It was moving day and I had everything cleared out of my apartment, and even vacuumed. I stood in the middle of my clean empty bedroom, beaming with pride on how pretty it looked. Then, as I was scanning the walls I realized I had a bunch of holes in my wall from all my hanging«artwork»(and by that I mean Ikea décor). A few swear words came out of my mouth, and then I quickly hopped into action. Edward’s True Value was the nearest hardware store I could think of and I jetted over there. As I walked in I was immediately greeted by a very nice man, the kind of man you think would own and run a neighborhood hardware store. He directed me to the spackle section and helped me find the cheapest/smallest option. He even took this plastic spatula with grooves that I picked out and voluntarily went and sanded it down so it would be easier for me to use… that’s what I’m talking about. Although I now no longer live in the area, I would highly suggest going to this place. Especially if you like genuine customer service and/or know nothing about home repair(similar to moi).
