We’ve been here several times over the last two months. Fastest, most reliable key cutters in the business! When we couldn’t find what we were looking for, staff directed us to the right location. The cashiers are always friendly and courteous.

I needed to fix my bike and the people working there were incredibly helpful. The first time they made sure that all the parts were the right size, letting me bring it in. Since I didn’t know how to use the wrench correctly when I got home I thought I had bought the wrong one. When I went back to get a new one, the guy instead of just letting me buy more tools showed me how to use it and helped me repair it in store all the way. He was very instructive, and patient.
They should have workshops for us DIY newbs!

The store is small but has a good selection. They don’t carry things like lumber or stone, but for everyday things for home repairs, painting, gardening etc, they have a decent selection. I really don’t see that the prices are any different than other hardware stores. The staff is friendly and helpful. I always look here first before venturing to the big boxes, and 9 times out of 10, they will have what I need. If you live in Hyde Park, definitely check here before venturing out.

People here are very friendly and helpful. I came in when it was snowing and was practically nagged to accept help carrying my purchases to the car.
Also, the cashier signed me up for Ace Rewards when she noticed that some of my items would be on sale with the reward card.
Obviously they are not going to carry the same range of items as the big boxes, but it’s nice to be able to patronize your neighborhood store sometimes.

The staff here is friendly and helpful at least most of them are. They other day I went in to purchase plumbing supplies for a toilet and while one of the men that works there was friendly he was not very helpful.

This place is fairly expensive, yes, but I don’t think that’s a good reason to rate it two or three stars. The staff is very present, helpful, and knowledgeable; the location’s convenient, and they have a good stock. Sometimes you pay more for quality, and maybe that’s what you’re doing here.
That doesn’t mean I shop here a lot — I don’t, because I’m a cheap bastard — but when I do, I always walk out with what I went in for.

Adequate, but… maybe because it is the only real option in Hyde Park. Staff ok, except when overly helpful or disrespectful. The better option is Home Depot, with wider selection and better prices and service.

This hardware store is ok in a pinch — just be prepared to pay more, more, more money for their products. Customer Service is pretty helpful, but that still doesn’t justify the outright price insanity at this hardware. If you’re into saving moolah, consider an alternative like Lowes or Home Depot. I purchased some deck waterproofing from this place and the quality was quite poor, then I noticed that the brand was ACE itself! Suggestion: Avoid the ACE Brand products, they are cheap and not worth your money. Winter is coming and this place sure will price-​gouge on their winter supplies, from shovels to salt and everything in between, they get deep in your pockets.

Yah– this is really the only hardware-​y store in Hyde Park. It carries basic hardware supplies like tools, paints home hardware, but also home good items like photo frames, vases, shower caddies, cutesy kitchen items, storage maximizing goods, and shower curtains.
Really the only reason I go in here is to get keys made, or look at the flower pots.
Parking is ample, the store is pretty small, but the workers are friendly and helpful.
