I’m a big, big fan of Fin sushi! For a neighborhood sushi spot, this is about as good as it gets. Whether ordering take out, dining in for a date night, or going out with a group, Fin never disappoints and is always delicious. It’s especially great in the summer with the lights and outdoor seating. Super cute and great environment.

Bad service, good, basic sushi. I used to go here several times per month, spending at least $ 100 each visit, but the last 2 times the servers were just downright rude to us. We came in just before 5 pm and the staff was all eating together so we offered to come back after 5. They said to stay but then proceeded to ignore us until 5:15 and then gave us a really hard time about our choice of seating. We wanted the inner booth because the tables near the windows were so cold. We were the only people in the restaurant so I couldn’t see the problem. We had to leave at 6 for our child’s appt. at Mathnasium next door but they were so slow just taking our payment that I had to stay behind to wait even longer… though there were still no other patrons in the place. I like the space… especially their outside seating, and hope to still be a customer, but not until they improve their attitudes. Dining out is about more than just the food on the plate, it is also about having a nice time.

Always high quality sushi. We usually have it delivered. Very fresh and reasonably priced. It’s our go-to for sushi night.

This restaurant is very nice. I like the atmosphere. Obviously they are a little pricey, but that’s quality sushi for ya! I had green turtle. BEWARE! WASABIMAYO! I did not like it at all and me and my boyfriend could not finish it. They have a wide variety though so just read carefully before you order so you know what you’re getting yourself into. I also had a dragon, which was delicious! This place is also BYOB which is always a plus!

This is my go to sushi place. Even though it’s a little farther from some good sushi places, I make the trip because it’s that much better. Very creative menu, good prices, attentive service, fresh fish and a GREAT outdoor seating area in the summer. Also BYOB!

Good sushi in a nice quiet place, with nice outdoor seating during the warmer months. The Salmon Don is really good here. Often times I get it for takeout, and it’s just as good as getting it in the restaurant. I like how one of the garnishes they include with it is a type of salty seasoned mushroom.

Such a terrific place — and BYOB which is always a plus. We get delivery often but the restaurant itself is also cute and quiet. A great neighborhood place!

This place is slightly off the beaten path but such a gem! If you can find a good sushi place stick with it. This place is terrific! Sushi is fresh and delicious. Presentation is artistic. Service is excellent. They do a nice job if you have a larger group coming(call for reservations). They are also BYOB.

Nice spot for lunch. I work close by so I’ve never been here after 2, but the set up is sweet. I can see it being good for chilling on their patio. As for the food, it’s always good. I’ve tried a few of the specialty rolls and was impressed.

First time here. Am a sushi lover. Appetizers looked very appealing on menu, but were very disappointing. Bacon wontons: could not taste any bacon. :(Shiitake egg roll: Nothing special, bland. Shrimp tempura: very overpriced 4 shrimp. Miso soup was super bland, tasted like they watered it down. Normally love it and didn’t even eat it. Sushi itself was very good. We didn’t try any rolls this time. Chirashi was very good, though different from other places. Thinner slices of fish, not chunks, layered with avocado, almost like a roll, with some extra Shiitake and egg on the side. Fish was very good. Friend had a Nigiri plate and the fish was very good. Not sure if they were short staffed or what. Holiday weekend and service was very very slow. Also was super hot and humid outside and they didn’t have very good a/c indoors(???). Skip the apps, maybe order a Nigiri or Chirashi plate, and possibly 1 – 2 rolls for 2 ppl. Nice atmosphere, nice patio if not so hot out.

C and I have been to Fin Sushi Bar about a half dozen times and really like it. The ambiance inside is very nice and there are plenty of table outdoors. The menu has many more choices than just sushi. Unfortunately, they do not identify anything as gluten free, so we can’t dine at Fin with some our of best friends. Literally, among three couples we know, who are good friends, one partner from each couple must eat GF. Fortunately, there are other Asian restaurants in the area that serve GF items. Fin people: If you read this, take notice; solve the GF issue for us and others. And make that Dragon Roll look like a dragon! Kids like dragons. Food: **** Ambiance: **** Service: **** BYOB: Yes!

Delicious sushi and great service! Volcano roll did have A LOT of mayo on it. I would recommend getting it with just a small amount.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem by my neighborhood. I went for the more purist choices such as simple white tuna roll and the Chicago roll. There are more americanized versions with mayo and cream cheese but regardless the product is very fresh and clean. The outdoor sidewalk seating is beautiful, part tables and part cabana seating illuminated under the trees.

When I looked at the menu for Fin, I was really excited by the large selection of rolls. I ordered the volcano roll and the yellow dragon roll. The volcano roll sounded delicious on paper, with a variety of different fish in the roll. The roll was overpowered by the mayo placed on top. The pieces were so large that they were hard to fit in my mouth and the mayo was all over– kind of entertaining for my dinner date! The yellow dragon was average, but I felt like it was hard to differentiate between flavors– the all kind of mushed together. On a good note, the house salad was tasty, a little more sweet than I expected. The service was friendly and the patio was super cute. Great spot for a byob, outdoor night!

Since moving to Ravenswood about a year ago, Fin Sushi Bar has become my go-to sushi spot in the neighborhood. The rolls are great(albeit a bit massive at times, so make sure to come hungry!), the service is attentive and prompt, & the location itself just has that cute kind of vibe to it that just gives it a little something extra. Can’t wait to try the patio now in the warmer weather – looks like the perfect BYOB spot for dinner w/friends.

I hate to do this but I am updating my review and removing two stars. Fin is very special to me for many reasons but it has really gone downhill lately. The last time I ate there was on Valentine’s Day and it was a really bad experience. We made a reservation three weeks in advance yet when we arrived we were seated right next to the bathroom and waitress station. Our table was the only one without a rose. The busgirl stood behind us the whole time staring at us watching us sip water then refilling after every two sips. It made me extremely uncomfortable. At the end of the meal our waitress didn’t ask us if we wanted dessert even though VDay is the perfect time to upsell. I felt rushed to leave. The service was bad that night and I could forgive it and just remove one star but the food wasn’t good either. I had a roll that included smoked salmon and it tasted really off like it might’ve gone bad. I also ordered two hand rolls. The chef drenched them in eel sauce. You have to use your hands when eating this so this was a huge mess. I’m really disappointed that one of my favorite places has gotten to this point. I will say that my husband order the chilis roll and it was delicious, it was the only good thing about that night.

I got take out here my first time and it was a mind blowing experience. Like, the ABSOLUTEBEST sushi I’ve had in Chicago. I’m from South Florida and know lots about good sushi. This place could easily compete with any sushi spot in SoFlo. That’s how amazingly delicious this sushi is at Fin’s. I did my usual Saturday night take out — they have very quick delivery, too — and decided to try this true gem. Hot damn I am so glad I did! I tried the lemon grass fried rice(with salmon), a spicy salmon roll, a Chicago wasabi roll, and a snow burn special roll. Everything I ordered surpassed my wildest fishy dreams. The Chicago and Snow rolls were huge, like un-hinge your jaw to eat in one bit huge. I’m sorry I didn’t get the chance to snap a quick picture… but when I popped the take out boxes open, the aromas of the food was so taunting I dug right in. So go see the rolls for yourself. Go. Right now. Hurry now!

Cute little local sushi place. We went in the winter, but will definately be back to use their outdoor patio when it gets warm out. The prices are very reasonable and affordable and the sushi is really good. The presentation of the food is also pretty.

Had a really enjoyable experience here with a group of coworkers. Grabbed some wine beforehand to take advantage of their BYOB and got our table. We made a reservation but during the week it definitely wasn’t necessary. We ordered the bacon wontons and gomae appetizers. Both were very tasty and fun. I ordered the wasabi and chicago rolls. They were very nicely put together and tasted great. Lots of filling and a good portion. We ended the meal with mochi. Prices were the usual for a good quality sushi bar and the service was very attentive.

I like Fin but I don’t LOVE Fin. I guess for the amazingly cheap lunch deals I really shouldn’t be complaining but I always feel their Sushi isn’t the freshest which is disappointing. Some of their appetizers are probably the best part of ordering there as they are always yummy! I need to stop in for dinner and see if it’s a different experience. maybe it is! Final Verdict: For a super cheap, decent, sushi lunch in the Ravenswood area — stop by Fin!
