J-Hee Cleaners

Superb work at an affordable price — highly recommended for both drycleaning and tailoring!

I have used Mr. J-​Hee for 3 years or so now — shirts, suits, and the occasional minor alteration. It is a classic small business 00 «Mr. J-​Hee» is super nice and accommodating, and everything comes back looking good.

JHee took care of me. And quickly.
Nice man, solid service, no complaints… I will return.
Downside, as others have mentioned — Cash or check only! No credit cards. I don’t always carry cash, so I was glad I had seen this on Unilocal before I went to pick up my dry-​cleaning.

Incompetent is being polite. About a year ago he somehow put a HUGE stain on my wife’s coat. After several attempts at cleaning it, the coat was trashed.
Recently, I took a suit to be cleaned. When we went to pick it up he said he accidentally gave it to someone else? Really? Is this a Seinfeld episode?
He knows who they are, but does NOT have the person’s phone number but says they come in often. So we have to wait…
J-​Hee? Think not.

If you live anywhere in the vicinity of Wilson and Hermitage, are there other options besides J-​Hee? I wouldn’t know, i’m too lazy to take my shirts and pants more than the minute walk it takes to get me here.
Luckily, for 2+ years now J-​Hee Cleaners have been cleaning my fancy shirts and pants and doing a decent job of it.
Mr. Hee (I don’t know his name really, but he’s always there) recognizes me in a flash, and I don’t even have to give him my ticket. I walk in the door and he quickly retrieves my pink Express shirt (that’s right ladies, i’m not afraid to wear a pink shirt) and then i’m out the door. I’m always hesitant to start up a conversation with him cause all he ever says to me is ‘Hello’ and ‘Have a good day sir’ and whatever the cost of my dry cleaning is. Our relationship is almost mechanical. Does anyone else that goes here have lengthy conversations with Mr. Hee? Maybe over a smoke? (cause I catch him smokin outside every once in a while)
Anyways — back to my review — decent dry cleaning at modest prices, and quick turnaround guaranteed. I’ve had a few shirts beaten up here, but probably cause I have 3 shirts and I get them cleaned too much. :) All in all i’m satisfied. and he’s close — so he’s kinda got me by the balls. Whatdyagonnado. If you live in the area you can’t go wrong here.

I’m a satisfied customer. I brought sofa covers to J-​Hee for cleaning on a thursday, got them back by tuesday clean and nicely pressed. I was napping on my sofa in no time. The owner is very polite and didn’t give me a hard time when I brought the covers in stuffed in a garbage bag. Hey, I’m a bachelor. I’m allowed to do things like that.
Just a note, though. They don’t accept credit cards, only cash or check.

I went to pick up my dry cleaning on Thursday. I had to go to court that morning. I had no clean suits. My train was leaving in five minutes. My bill was $ 28. I had $ 20 in my pocket. I did not have my check book.
J-​Hee says, «20 is OK. You can come back later.»
Wow. I almost burst into tears when he said that. What other small business owner is going to just trust a customer to come back with money she owes him? (I of course did come back the next morning to pay the rest of my bill!)
Thank you so, so much for making my stressful morning so much less stressful. You are my hero. I will tell everyone I know to go to your awesome shop, starting here!

I brought a dress here for alterations. Even though their sign says «24 hour expert alterations» I had to wait nearly a week for my dress to be ready for me to pick it up. When I came to get it, he said it couldn’t be fixed. He never bothered to call me to tell me so I could bring it to another place where they actually know what they are doing. I also wanted him to clean it, but he didn’t. Luckily, Monitor Dry Cleaners on Clark and Wilson was able to both clean and alter my dress before the wedding I needed it for. I will never go back to J-Hee’s!

It’s your typical cleaners and tailor. They do a good job on the cleaning with a quick turnaround when needed, and the owner has done really good tailoring for me. I’m also glad that he’ll tell me what he can’t do — I had a tux that needed work and he said he couldn’t handle it. I’d much rather he tell me so I can go someplace else instead of screwing it up.
I’m notoriously picky about the cleaners I go to — I went through 4 places in another neighborhood — and I’ve been going here for 2 years.
