Pastries are very fresh and ridiculously inexpensive. Staff is mostly Polish-speaking so go ahead and just point to something. It will be delicious.

We bought a cake from the bakery and when we brought it home it was not a chocolate cake like we were told. The baker herself brought a beautiful delicious cake to my house within an hour not to mention a whole container of cookies. You don’t get service like that anywhere nowadays!

Rye bread with very little rye flour – mostly high gluten wheat, which they neglect to mention on the label, which only says«high gluten» as the first ingredient. Dry and flavorless. What happened to polish rye?

Good old-time Polish bakery. Good pastries and bread. Cheap!

I wanted to be a customer, but between the language barrier and the manager laughing at my request, I will not be. Basically I had a specific request for a cake that would need a fast turnaround time. I explained to the manager what I needed and why,(a gender reveal cake, it’s not uncommon, he’d just never done one) and he just laughed the whole time! He didn’t say whether they could do it, he said he’d have the cake decorator call me. So I’ll take my business to someone who won’t laugh at me. In this economy, I’m surprised a small independent bakery can afford to treat potential customers that way.

I’ve been to Forest View Bakery at least 3 times in the last year and have tried something different each time. And, each time… I was disappointed. The last time I was in, I bought butter cookies and a coffee cake. The cookies were dry and crumbled when I bit into them. I was told that the coffee cake was almond filled… but instead it was filled with poppy seed. The coffee cake wasn’t sweet at all, even though it had a sugar glaze on it. Unfortunately, there are no labels on the baked goods, and the ladies who work there during the week speak limited English, so it’s hard to tell what you’re getting. But, the bakery itself is very clean and neat and the prices are good. There’s a small café attached to the bakery, that looks nice, but I haven’t tried it.

This is an old school Polish bakery that serves up some wonderful goodies. There is a restaurant attached, but I have yet to dine there.
