I have eaten here a couple of times for lunch. The food is good, made to order. It’s the standard Chinese take out type fare. Both times, lots of fresh and crunchy stir fried veggies. Meats in good sized pieces and they didn’t skimp on the shrimps. The serve the right brand of sauces too– not those cheap knock offs. REAL fresh fruit in the bubble tea, not some colored flavor powder. The inside — who cares about décor at a budget Chinese place, but the dining/waiting area is clean and neat inspiring confidence in the quality of the food. And they have a good happy cat! You can’t go wrong with $ 6 combo for entrée, fried rice, egg roll and a drink. Way better than the places further down on Milwaukee.

We tried FRE for the first time and I was hoping this would be great — it wasn’t. We live 0.7 miles away and it took an hour and 15 to get to us. The sesame chicken and chicken fried rice were decent and big portions. But they forgot the can of pop that comes with the combo(not a big deal but annoying). The Crab Rangoon had a surprisingly distinct Indian food flavor. I like Indian food but not in my Crab Rangoon. The egg roll was meh. The Rainbow Fried Rice was meh. The potstickers were ok. Great Chinese food in this area has been difficult to find.

Mexican fried rice and house fried rice so far are my favs! Mexican fried rice has a nice flavor with the jalapeño spicy-ness. House fried rice has a combination of meats with my fav-Chinese sausage! Love their smoothies! Especially coconut! Soooo yummy! Tastes like fresh fruits, not powdered or imitation! Definitely recommend this place for all my fried rice lovers out there! Can’t wait to try the other fried rices they have!

Stopped in as we are down the road at the hospital and one of few places still open with gluten free option. They were actually closed but cooked up veggies fried rice. It was very good. I wish I could have tried other options. The kitchen looked a typical Chinese kitchen that I remember in a good restaurant. I have to give 4 stars for fast service, good service and good fried rice.

The BEST Chinese food on the northwest side!!! SUPERCLEANFRESH meat! ALWAYS consistent!!! ALWAYS courteous! The owners are so grateful! They always ask for my opinion if I like it or give my son cookies… There egg rolls are so good… my fav is the shrimp broccoli. .made spicy and added myshrooms… they never get attitude cause I’m picky with my order! Very accomodating!

The Shrimp with lobster sauce dish is excellent here. Not too salty and a lot of shrimp unlike other places. The small order is already large enough to fill you up. Generous portions at the right price.

We have been ordering delivery for years. Great food at a good price. I would not recommended eating there, since it really small. Lunch specials are a great deal.

Hands-down, one of the best Chinese food places in this neighborhood. We ordered the egg drop soup, orange chicken, bbq pork, beef kow, potstickers and lo mein combo. Every single dish was absolutely delicious. Not greasy. Not salty. Not oversauced. Most importantly, not overpriced! The food is comparable to any great restaurant in Chinatown. So glad to have finally discovered this little gem of a place.

Two stars because we used to LOVE this place, but it’s changed big time and I don’t think we’ll be ordering from here again. Firstly, they used to give out coupons with their food to redeem for a free app or something and if you got enough you’d get an entrée! That is no more. In addition their dinner combo came with fried rice, and egg roll, and a soda. Soda is no more. Lastly menu has changed. I’ve ALWAYS ordered Hunan Chicken and always loved it, most recently I got it and it was weirdly sweet and almost entirely onions/celery/bok choy/zuchhini with a touch of chicken. It used to be a lot of veggies(broccoli, corn, water chestnut, bamboo shoots, peas) with a lot of chicken. It was SOGROSS. Sorry, we’re sticking to our other local favorites.

So, so good! We ordered two dinner specials which are huge, ½ the container is your entrée, the other ½ is fried rice, with an egg roll, also ordered two cans of soda. Our bill was $ 17.05, we happily put $ 3 into the tip jar for a grand total of $ 20.05. This is the best deal, if you are not a big eater it’s easily 4 meals. If you have a hearty appetite, it’s 2 meals. Everything was fresh and piping hot when it came out. Please give them a try, especially if you get off at the Harlem stop for the Blue Line. So glad we have them a try today!

I’ve been enjoying this place for years. The owner is a friendly hard working guy. He’s always pleasant if you can catch him on a day he’s not in the back. The portions are huge. They have a great combo special that’s well worth the next day leftovers. Our favorites are extra spicy orange chicken, beef chop suey and cashew chicken. It’s always fresh. They use a lot of meat and vegetables. It’s always consistent. Only order from here!

Weird, called 5 times to place an order for pick up, it just rings and rings and then a recording asks me for an «access code». Too bad, guess they don’t want my business.

I love this place, the food is good, reasonably priced, and always arrives hot. What more can you ask.

I absolutely hate this place, not because if the food(even though the food is not good), but because the customer service. They charged me more than once more for the items I did not received. When I called to address the situation the staff was extremely rude. Their dinner special also does not include a drink, even though the menu says it does. When I inquired about that the young man working there started swearing at me and told me to never order from them again. When I asked to talk to the owner he said he was the owner and hung up on me.

In this hood exceptional Chinese restaurants are far and few between. This one definitely stands out. Great service, very friendly owner willing to go above and beyond to make his customers happy, great lunch specials(enough food for two) and they are always willing to substitute something you don’t like. If you are anti-MSG like I am, you can request it not to be put in your food. Big thumbs up for that! Most Chinese places load their food with this terrible additive. I order the Szechuan Shrimp lunch special and it is beyond expectation made with lots of jumbo perfectly cooked shrimp. The crab rangoons are unique as they are made with curry powder. Anyone looking for a good Chinese spot for lunch, carryout, dine-in or delivery… give it a try. You shouldn’t be disappointed.

Still the best Chinese restaurant around. The food is great with huge portions and the owner is a hard worker who always tries to please and accommodate his customers. He is very personable and no matter how busy they are, my order is always correct and fresh. I hope they stay in business for a long time!

WHERETHEFOOKISMYRICE? Oh my GAAAAAAWWWWDDDD…(with vocal fry voice) where the fook is my rice? Hey, peeps, I subtracted one star, because this time they did forget the steamed white rice for my order. I should have checked my order before leavin’ this little dive, but I did not. Oh well, whatever! I got home and was so upset that the rice was missing. I called the restaurant and informed them. No apology. Nothing. I can imagine the«Deer in the Headlights» look on the person who answer the phone. WTF, so I ended up cooking some rice at home(when I was not in the mood to cook). The more I thought about it the more pist off I became. This is not«Wooooohoooooo as good as it gets» food. It is your basic Chinese food joint. Nothing unique or spectacular about the food. Just something to eat on a Friday evening when you just don’t feel like going out after a long week at work or going home and cooking dinner for yourself. It’s just«OK» food, but I have definitely had much better elsewhere.

I moved into the neighborhood in June and have been searching for a Chinese restaurant, as my husband loves Chinese. I am not a huge fan, but I enjoy some chicken dishes. My husband has ordered a few times when I wasn’t home and has loved every thing he’s had. This past weekend I finally gave in and let the hubby order dinner for us. My husband initially asked for delivery but changed his mind and told the man he’d pick it up. I could hear the man say«THANKYOU» and I was across the room.(It was snowing bad and had been for a couple days). We got extra white rice and many thank yous for picking up instead of waiting for delivery. When I got home and bit into my sesame chicken I looked at my husband and said,“FINALLY”. It seriously took us like 6 Chinese places for me to find one I liked. Thank you Fried Rice Express for making sesame chicken the right way. You have a return customer here.

got lunch delivery, weekday For two of us to eat, was $ 13.65 incl tax, tip, delivery. HUGE Portions, food piping hot. I had the lunch special mongolian beef which came with heaps of chix fried rice, egg roll and pop. Flavor was good(beef tasted like BEEF, not like a facsimilie as some Chineste placed) and easily had enough left over for dinner. Egg roll wasn’t as good both in flavor and not crisp like I like it, so that is the reason I rank 4. Dining companion got chicken lo mein and thought it was tasty too. Will order again!
