It’s 230am, do you know where your tummy and bad judgment are? Well, Saturday night… mine tried very hard to visit Trespasada(next door). And failed. Cash only(oops, we blew all of our cash) and packed, no tables for us to enjoy our food… and we were too far from home for a to-go order. So, George Boys Grill it is. I’ve seen the man murals on the corner of Ashland/Chicago for over a year ago when George moved in and Rockstar dogs moved out… and despite the serious lack of trusted reviews from my Unilocal pals, decided it was a worthwhile venture to check it out. SUCCESS! Though this place is long and narrow(just two rows of seating line the walls), it hit the spot right quick, sending us home with full bellies. *GREAT cheeseburger ‘n fries. Like a Big Mac, but better. Definitely the hit of the evening along with chicken strips and Philly Cheesesteak. *Chocolate shake however, very runny… not recommended. *Wings left a bit to be desired. That burger though? Wow. All made fresh, too. Piping hot. I bought for myself and 3 pals = $ 40. So about $ 10/piece for food and beverages, not bad at all. Open late(we were there at 230am), and great people watching out the windows and drunkards spill around looking for cabs, food and that lost dignity. Bugers from George Boys help, yes they do!

I think this would qualify better as maybe drunk food than dinner food. My bf and I made the mistake of ordering for delivery, because I think it would have been better had we gone in to eat. First thing… bf ordered a cheeseburger, and requested cheese sauce for his fries. Didn’t get that(although I think that may have been due more to ordering online instead of via the phone). I ordered a garden salad and an italian beef. The order must have been sitting for a while before it went out the door, because the french fries were inedibly soggy! We had to pop them in the oven for over 15 minutes to recrisp them. Once they were crispy they were pretty good. My italian beef roll was only about half filled, which wasn’t terrible, but most places I’ve ever had an italian beef from usually super stuff the roll with the beef. My bf didn’t really like his burger, and let’s just say that it didn’t really like him either… they parted ways only about an hour after consumption. lol. My «garden» salad was mostly lettuce with only barely a handful of other veggies. So, bottom line, you get what you pay for. It’s definitely a cheap, no frills place, but I don’t think I’ll eat there again unless I’ve got a decent amount of booze in me first.

Great deal for a cheeseburger and fries. Counters around the outside walls are the only place to sit so you can’t lean back after gorging on a burger. Fries had some Cajun style spice on them and were really good. Burger was solid, no frills. Would go here more often it was closer to me. Place was really clean and they’ve got a pretty good selection of food.

Never walk-In this place before, always order over the phone. The food is ok but they don’t pay attention what customer ask for. If I order hamburger, or a cheeseburger I ask them«can you put a ketchup on the french fries?» and they ALWAYSSAY«SURE, OK» and when I open up the box there are no ketchup on the french fries and this is not the first time either. It happens like 8 times! I mean, WTF? Is It so hard to put a ketchup on the french fries? Just wondering, they just don’t do it? or forget what I said? don’t understand. After that happen, I don’t call this place no more and nevea. oh by the way, I tried pizza long time ago and taste sucks.

This place quite possibly had the worst food I have ever eaten. The pork chop sandwich tasted like burnt rubber and the pizza sandwich didn’t do much better. The fries were solid, however.

Definitely beats what used to be in this spot. Think of it as a diner(ala Clarkes or Nookies) but smaller. Inexpensive, delicious and open late. So much offered to the hungry masses! Great addition to the neighborhood!

Walking past this late night spot you may just think its just another burger and fries last place. The kind of place you only eat after a few drinks. HOWEVER this place is entirely different. Walking into the long narrow restaurant the first thing you will notice is how CLEAN it is. Its spotless and shiny. You can see right into the spotless kitchen and watch george as he creates more than just hamburgers and hot dogs. There menu is loaded with fish, pastas, shrimp and ribs and plenty of veggie options just to name a few. They have something for everyone. The food is fantastic. Generous portions, cooked to perfection right in front of you. Gone are the days of settling for the greasy hell holes in this area for late night food. George boys is clean, delicious and wont break the bank.
