i think that place is no longer j patrick’s, it’s under new management.

Cozy place. But overpriced bar food. And their sound system on TVs is out of sync for sports games(somehow). I don’t want to hear the play happen before I actually see it happen. It’s off by a split second. That ruins it for me(sorry). It’s not this way at every bar.

Really solid little bar. Be warned the habanero wings hot as hell… And they’re not even the hottest ones!

We stopped in here for a quick drink and snack with our realtor while we waited for our showing just down the street. Our jalapeño poppers came out quickly and hot, and they were tasty! Nothing out of the ordinary, but we appreciated the speed of service, considering our appointment. Bar tender was attentive and not overbearing — always the best 2 adjectives for servers.

Everything about this place screams average. Iy truly is about location here. Typical average bar fare with tacos actually the standout. Decent beer selection and reasonably priced. The staff is hit or miss with service — average, you won’t be dissapointed but not much to write home about.

These guys have a good poutine on the menu, and a decent selection of local and regional beers.

Good bar with good bar food. Their burgers are consistently solid, especially if you get a fried egg on them. Fries are alright. Irish nachos are a good appetizer if you don’t mind making a mess. Drink prices and selection are bar for the course, and while the staff isn’t super-friendly, they’re perfectly competent. And that’s kinda important to me, since I’ve had super-friendly waitstaff other places who utterly sucked at their jobs overall. Good for going with friends, since there’s a pool table and stuff. I accidentally ended up there on Trivia Night one time and it was actually decent as far as bar trivia goes.

Their tacos and chicken tenders are pretty decent but their bartenders aren’t the friendliest. Also, if you pay by credit card, they have this weird credit card surcharge which is annoying. Besides being in a good location in West Town, this bar isn’t anything special.

First time here and I have to say amazing staff and great atmosphere. Came on a taco Tuesday special night(which the tacos are great) and was quickly greeted. My server Jackie was amazing and very knowledgeable on the beer they had on tap. I let her choose a beer for me based upon my preference and the ipa she chose was to die for. The whole night was full of laughs and a great time. Thank you to the staff and especially Jackie for the great time! I will return often.

Credit card charge. To be honest, I’m much less offended if its just cash only & they have an ATM. Look at the system the Boiler Room has going. Everyone is happy.

Went here for an early dinner during the World Cup, and the atmosphere was exactly what I was expecting at a cozy neighborhood Irish Pub. Decent beer selection on draft. We had a really sweet waitress who gave us great service. The food was a notch above typical bar fare. We started with the chorizo poutine, which was yummy even though with the absence of gravy I wouldn’t really call it a poutine per se. I got a salad which can be a risky move in a bar, but it was well done with fresh ingredients. If I didn’t live around the corner, I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but if you’re in the neighborhood, it’s a great place to grab a beer and a pint.

This is a great, great neighborhood bar. The whole staff are super friendly and chill. Always a pleasure. Average aged crowd and bags are available for play during summers. Beer selection is not plenty(around 10 on draft and many more bottles) but decently priced. Food is way better than it used to be. Pretty good chicken pesto sandwich and the JPats burger is great with the bacon jam! Yup — bacon jam. Atmosphere is great, especially on game days. Yes, it gets loud during game nights but a great experience! Overall, with all of Chicago neighborhood bars, this may be my favorite(factoring in living in numerous different neighborhoods).

High priced food, just average quality. Good beers but the prices are a bit high. Nice décor and friendly service.

This is a good little neighborhood bar. I mean they have a good selection of beer, good food options, good music, good video games especially if into Golden Tee. They have wifi and the staff are pretty much always nice. Now would I go out of my way to get here? No. I live in the area. But they are closer bars to me than this place, but I’ll walk a little further to hang with locals. This place can get kind of packed on game nights, Fri and Sat but if it doesn’t, then it is seriously doing something wrong. Oh, and a good place to go in the summer. When every place with outdoor seating is like a two hour wait, this place, although doesn’t have outdoor seating, will have the windows open and probably won’t have that long of a wait.

A cool little Noble Square bar good for a bite, a pint, or to catch a Blackhawks game. Not a ton to it but if you live in the area I think you’ll find that it’s about everything you’d expect from a nice little neighborhood haunt. Food is decent, staff is friendly, and you’ll find tons of folks who live within a few blocks so its a perfect place to connect with the community. The bathroom can be a bit of a wait but if the place is packed, but I guess that’s pretty much to be expected. Overall I like it and will be back come NHL playoff time!

The only reason I am giving J. Patrick’s 2 stars is because of that BELL! After living in the neighborhood for over a year, I finally went to J. Patrick’s. Here’s what worked: — It was cozy. — Wait staff was attentive, even though it was busy night. — Drinks were fine. Here’s what didn’t work. .. just one thing…The BELL! We were there on Blackhawks game night. It turns out that every time the Hawks score the bartender rings this huge and EXTREMELY loud bell. This bell was probably made to be used outside at a shipyard, and it’s being used indoors. Our ears were ringing for a while afterwards and it was so loud that threw me off. After the bell rang once, we decided that we needed to move on after we finished our first drink. Then the bell went off a second time, we decided to leave without even finishing our drinks. I would consider giving this bar another try on a non-game night.

This is a quaint local bar in the Noble Square area. It is a low traffic area for locals that don’t need the big crowds and loud music. This is a good spot to just have a few drinks, chat with friends and watch the game. We stopped by here early on a Friday night. They have a good bathroom, that was our first reason why we stopped in. We ended up getting a couple O-bombs and a bud light. The bartender was funny. I asked if there was a minimum on card and he said, «ya one dollar», with a smile. That earned him a couple extra points in my book. We finished our drinks and left looking for a few other places to hit up. As we left the owners, who were sitting at the bar, bid us farewell. From what I understand this is a normal occurence for the owners to intermingle with patrons. Very cool.

Grading this place is tuff. Well, it’s a bar with beverages and a bathroom, employees, and they pay their electric. It is what it is… decent if not bad for a neighborhood place but not really a destination bar if that is your thing. It’s in between stars, I round up.

The food is alright, but the real plus is that it’s just a very low key pub setting, in which you don’t feel rushed and you’re able to have a conversation. It’s alright, but nothing like Mac’s, which is my favorite Chicago pub as of right now. FOOD: Solid, pretty good. Go with the Irish«Chips,» which are really steak cut fries, over their normal fries, which are more like McDonald’s fries. I typically order a bowl of chili or salad, both of which are about average. My fiancé orders the Bison burger, which creeps me out, but he swears it’s good. We’ve also tried their nachos with chicken, which are delicious. SERVICE: The woman we most frequently see there is just so chill. She makes jokes and is extremely friendly without being overbearing. AMBIANCE: Like I said, it’s a very low key pub setting. Great for meeting up with friends, or a last minute Friday night meal with your s/o.
