Short walk from Hyatt on Wacker. Their deep dish is a little different then some of the other well name brands. Not quite as thick. Tons of cheese. We started with anti pasta salad for the table which was a lot of food. For 5 guys we sadly could not polish off the large.

Stopped here while in Chicago. This was my second experience with Chicago deep dish pizza. My first was the day before at Gino’s East. Between the two, I would go with Giordano’s due to the crust. I like softer crust, what can I say? This place is super convenient as it’s placed in the middle of the downtown core. Worth a sit down.

I’ll say solid 3.5 stars but since the service we had during the lunch hour was excellent I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Oh Giordanos… the famous STUFFED deep dish pizza. You certainly did not disappoint! Met a buddy here visiting from out of town so that he could enjoy his first Chicago deep dish. We went for the Chicago classic deep dish consisting of pepperonis, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. You can’t beat that classic combo! Takes about 45min to cook, so be sure put in your order right as your seated if you know what pizza you want then figure what you want for appetizers and drinks to reduce your wait time on the pizza coming out. To split while we waited for the pizza to come out, we did the Giordano’s house salad consisting of assorted greens, baby heirloom tomatoes(that were ridiculously fresh), radicchio and fennel tossed in a light vinaigrette topped with shaved cheese. It was a nice, light and fresh salad overall to prep our stomachs for all the pizza goodness headed our way. We grabbed a pint of Goose Island 312 each to catch up on old times and reminisce about our days in high school and who could eat the most as we were both cross country runners back in the day. Before we knew it the pizza was out! Hot n fresh and ready to eat. Small size comes with 6 slices. I enjoyed that the crust wasn’t too soft and doughy, yet thick and crisp without being difficult to breakdown and chew. And to my surprise, it doesn’t come out super greasy! I was pretty full after one slice however pushed to fit 2 slices so that my buddy wouldn’t have to take too much pizza home on the plane. Anyways, it was a really pleasant experience all around and my buddy really enjoyed the pizza! ‘Til next time, cheers!

I can only describe deep dish pizza here with two words: cheese heaven! This was my first time trying deep dish and it won’t be my last. The pizza was insanely flavorful and went perfectly with a few glasses of wine. I will definitely be coming back for more on my next trip to Chicago!

Either you love deep dish pizza, or you don’t. I do! Being used to eating NY style pizza for the past couple of years, I was ready to try traditional Chicago deep dish. My friend highly recommended this place for me to visit during my trip this past weekend and I was not disappointed! The veggie pizza was awesome: perfect crust, perfect amount of sauce and cheese, and perfect mix of veggies. Downside is probably waiting 45 mins-1 hour for your pizza, but can you really complain about the wait when the artisans are perfecting their craft? Get a salad while you’re waiting!

My boyfriend and I were here on vacation, traveling from New York, and we were told we had to try the deep dish. We got here very early for lunch, around 11:20 am and were seated almost right away. It was great because the pizza takes a long time, so by the time it came, we were ready for lunch. We were surprised we got seated right away, but we must have come early enough for it to be okay. When 12 rolled around there was a line. We got traditional deep dish, no toppings, and we did enjoy the slices we had. We split a medium pie and it was definitely more than enough food. Very crunch crust, and very cheesy filling. The sauce could’ve used a bit more flavor. We could both only eat two slices because it was so filling and cheesy. After about two slices, we basically did not want to look at another deep dish pizza again. We are used to thin crust pizza so this much cheese was a little off-putting for non locals but we could see the appeal. All in all, we enjoyed Giordano’s, but I think it was the actual deep dish pizza itself we weren’t a huge fan of, just because it is overly heavy. Definitely can upset your stomach if you are not used to it.

The Giordano provides really good deep dish pizza! The sauce was to die for and thickness of pizza is up to 3 cm. The lunch special is best choice for one person. I chose one personal size pizza, garden salad and a bottle of pure water. The mozzarella cheese has good quality and the pizza bread was crust enough. Really recommend to first try visitors in Chicago I think.

I think deep dish pizza is a strong preference. I have many friends that love it or hate it. I personally really enjoy the plethora of cheese and the doughy bottom that accompanies each bite, especially if you have some meat stuffed in it as well. Anyhow, the Girodano’s is still my favorite place to get deep dish after trying multiple locations but the service can be inconsistent. Also if you have friends dying to try deep dish in a different state you can ship them pizzas now. From the drink menu, you MUST try the LSD lemonade(I hear the combination is citrus Smirnoff, blueberry syrup, and frozen lemonade). That will make everything better, including the cold outside.

This place will give you layers upon layers of deep dish delight! I came here while visiting a friend and she recommended here for satisfying the tourist’s craving and her own native craving for deep dish. There was a line that night(weekday) but it took 20 minutes or so and they let us place orders while on line. We ordered a small split into chicken BBQ bacon and the sausage deluxe — and the way the pizzas were layered was incredible! The first one had bacon on top and chicken inside as a little surprise, and the other had mushrooms with tomato sauce on top with everything else inside. I was like a kid in a candy store digging through my 3 slices! Which were very filling by the way. Waitstaff were friendly and refilled our drinks promptly. LOVED this place overall– just make sure you go on an empty stomach!

The 1 hour wait was well worth it! I have never had deep dish pizza before and what better place to have it than in Chicago?! This place was recommended to us by friends. The hostess took our order at the time we requested a table for two since the wait for a table was going to be as long as it would take for our pizza to come. This was great since once we were seated, our pizza came within minutes. OMG it was amazeballs! We ordered the chicken sausage, spinach and cheese stuffed deep dish pizza. The pizza was like a pie/lasagna. It was stuffed full of the ingredients with some herbs. I would have liked a little more spice but I was able to add chilli flakes and hot sauce to give it that extra zing that I like in a sauce. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was warm and friendly. It’s great for families and larger groups of people. So glad we stopped here!

I’ve never been to this location before. It was a nice time. I met a friend who was in town for a conference for a late dinner, I think about 9:00. I was a little freaked out because I don’t often eat pizza(despite the fact that I loooove it) and I’d just gotten home from the gym when the invitation was extended. BUT I hadn’t seen him in awhile and needed to go. The original intent was just to sit and have a glass of wine, but I ended up eating one piece of pizza. It was pretty crowded with people already seated and eating, but we didn’t have to wait for a table. Our table was all the way down along the wall, which was nice because it was loud in there and we’d be doing a lot of talking. It was nice to not have anyone on one side of us. My friend ordered an appetizer(I don’t remember what, garlic fries or something maybe?) but I didn’t have any of it, instead opting for wine. We ordered a small pepperoni deep dish(I picked the pepperoni off, as a non meat eater) which was plenty. I had one piece of it, and my friend still had extra pieces to take back to his hotel. I can’t even remember the last time I’ve been to a Giordano’s — it has been years probably. I like Lou Malnati’s better, but Giordano’s is probably my number two mainstream deep dish establishment(definitely better than Gino’s, to me). I think I forget about it/discount it because there are so many of them. They seriously seem to be EVERYWHERE. I need to remember Giordano’s in the future if I’m in the mood for deep dish and don’t go to Lou Malnati’s.

Disclaimer: I’m a tourist from Los Angeles. I LOVED this deep dish pizza – I’ve never had anything quite like this. The sheer mass of cheese was impressive, containing nuggets of treasure in it’s holiness. Three of us tried to kill a large and we managed to finish 8 slices(2 left) – we failed. This thing is HEAVY. We also ordered calamari as an appetizer(at the recommendation of our awesome, nice, patient waiter) which was very tasty and well done – bravo! A few Goose Island IPAs to wash it all down were much appreciated as well. I probably wouldn’t eat this more than once a month for the sake of my arteries, but my god it is delicious. Definitely coming back here the next time Chicago is on the radar!

From the outside, it looks like a sports bar. From the inside… a family-friendly sports bar. Hahahha. My Chicago deep-dish tour included Giordano’s, Lou Malnati’s, and Pequod’s. Of the three, this falls right in the middle, I think. The main restaurant area seems to be loud at all times of day. I called ahead to order a personal size, ready to go right when they said it’d be. This location is right next to Millennium Park and the famous Chicago bean, making the wait all too bearable — selfies make 30 minutes pass by quite quickly. In fact, for tourists this is probably the most convenient deep-dish location, period. The service was friendly enough, and the pizza quite good. I, a 165 pound man with a healthy appetite, happily finished the personal size alone. The crust was good, and the pizza is layered with enough flavor and ingredients that it keeps you interested. I did overall find Giordano’s to be middle of the road in almost all ways compared to Pequod’s and Lou Malnati’s. It was the middle in terms of ambiance, middle in terms of service, middle in terms of pizza quality and deliciousness, and middle in terms of price. That said, you really can’t go wrong coming here, and it’s definitely worth checking out for all you other tourists.

Hands down the best pizza in this town! And this is the best Giordanos in the city of Chicago. We’ve gotten excellent customer service here every time we’ve been here. Chicago deep dish with meatballs and pepperoni is the way to go here, Amazing! We also tried the sandwiches here also and they do a rockstar job at those too. The salads are pretty good also. If your downtown in Chicago you need to go here no where else is better.

Best. Damn. Amazing. Pizza. The. Best. I can’t even fully draft up this review because I’m at a total loss for it. Where do I begin? How do I write this? Can I even write this? Well, I returned from Chicago 4 weeks ago and I still fantasize about the spinach sausage mushroom pizza. It’s just.. I can’t even put it into words. It’s a game changer. Now I know why there are so many memes about Pizza and why people would choose it over anything else. This is probably the most random irrelevant, and poorly drafted review I’ve ever written, but I just can’t even put into words how F’ing amazing their pizza is. I would move to Chicago to eat this every day.

DAMN. GOOD. PIZZA. My friend and I were visiting Chicago for a week and decided to get our deep dish pizza at Giordano’s. I’m so happy we did! We came around noon and luckily there wasn’t much of a wait. We ordered the Chicago Classic(pepperoni, mushrooms, onions and green peppers) and loved it! The amount of layered cheese in the pizza was amazing. I wish we had enough room in our stomach to order other items on their menu, but we were stuffed. Overall, it was a great experience. I can’t wait to come back!

8÷28− I had no idea this place would be so packed but our group of three was seated pretty fast in a cozy booth in the back(Jeebus, I swear this place seemed like it was a neverending curved expanse of booths!). Took a while for our waitress to get back to us after we first told her that were were going to need more time to decide what to order, but once she realized how long she’d left us unattended, our waitress felt super bad we didn’t get our waters promptly enough, so she offered to comp us sodas. We declined but, I definitely appreciated the gesture. =] After being cautioned of the longer-than-usual wait time, we ordered some crispy calamari to tide us over. It was a good decision– and a delicious one! The order came in a very shareable portion and was mixed with the occasional green bean and jalapeño slice to keep us on our toes. Pizza came out(half Chicago classic– Pepperoni, mushrooms, onions & green peppers and the other half being the bacon BBQ chicken) and we tucked in right away! Our group of 4 had been debating between the medium or the large– lucky we stuck with the medium because the deepness of the deepness pizza was no joke, lol! Strategically alternating layers of cheese and topping really filled us up in all the right ways. One of my friends was not a huge, huge fan of the crust here, but I personally like it the best out of all(aka 4 hahaha) of the places serving deep dish style pizza I’ve ever visited. Sides were high and crunchy on the outside, but with a softer middle without ever getting too bready. I was also vaguely impressed that this texture was maintained all the way into the center of the bottom of the pizza(I suppose the crust might be at least partially, if not mostly, prepared before being filled and baked?). I really got a kick out of the structural integrity of the slice… I’ve become so used to pizza slices kinda just flopping around limply… this was a nice change haha. We were too stuffed for dessert after all was said and done, but I wouldn’t hesitate to come back to another Giordano’s the next time I’m in town. I’m honestly not sure if some people automatically give Gio’s a bad bias simply because they’re a chain, but I think they’re clearly doing something right. XD

Damn where should I start. I love this place! Just amazing pizza !!! We had the Chicago deep dish pizza. It was delicious ! all that melted cheese on that pie is just out of this planet. The pie had a nice crisp to it and filled with amazing mozzarella. A small pizza was more than enough for 2. The service was however is a bit slow, and takes about an hour to get your pizza ready. So might want to get some appetizers to get started while you wait.

I’m a Gino’s girl. but honestly, pizza. I come here when a Gio’s fan insists– and the pizza isn’t bad, but it’s just not Gino’s. And I never get the great service I’m accustomed to at my spot. Obviously I suggest a deep dish– don’t eat an other pizza while in the Chi. I always go for Italian beef and black olives– but do you, homie. I really do love the calamari here– it’s fresh and the batter is light and airy. Unfortunately that’s all I got. Lol

At least they have a bar while you wait! We got the Chicago classic medium between the 3 of us. We had 2 slices each so a small would have been perfect! The Cesar salad starter side was perfect size before the pizza. Dessert– chocolate layer cake with ice cream. I expected this cake to be warm. but it wasnt. If it was warm it would have been totally better. Very very chocolatey.

On a recent business trip, my coworkers and I were in search of pizza after a day of attending a conference and an evening of cocktails. We turned to Unilocal to give us a recommendation that was close to where we were. And Giordanos popped up. None of us like thick crust pizza so we went for the thin. I know, we were in Chicago, we probably should’ve went with the Chicago style but we went with the thin and everything but onions. The crust was like tasteless cardboard. The toppings were good but didn’t save the crust. Service was friendly and attentive. Next time we’ll go with the Chicago style. Maybe the crust is better tasting than the thin crust.

You come in and out your name down with one hostess and then you come to the other side and place your deep dish pizza order with another girl. The small pizza has 6 big slices so it’s plenty of food if you’re sharing with 2 – 5 people depending on now hungry you are. The wait is an hour or so but once inside it looks like a typical pizza place that’s busy and chatty. We also got an order of wings which were ok and a small deep dish that was half pepperoni and half vegetables. The pizza was ok, I’m not a huge fan of deep dish but it wasn’t too saucy but nothing out of this world. The service wasn’t that great as we had to wait a while for our waitress to come around for refills and we had to ask someone to get her when we wanted the check. It was a Saturday night close to closing so maybe that’s why but still that’s not an excuse.

Giordano’s was on my top lists for things to try when I was in Chicago. All I can say now is, I’ve tried it all. Giordano’s was my last stop on my Chicago deep dish pizza adventure and it definitely did not disappoint. Apparently you can order a personal size pizza. But wait, it still takes 45min?! I don’t know why, I don’t know how… but the same time it takes for a larger size is kind of excessive(btw, I do cook/bake so yes, I know some things no matter the size need time to cook). What’s different about Giordano’s is the stuffed pizza. All your toppings are on the inside rather than placed on top like your traditional pizzas. Their tomato sauce is on point and probably one of my favorites that I’ve tried — only 2nd to Uno’s Pizzeria. Can someone create a combination Lou’s crust and Giordano’s toppings/sauce into a mega– pizza. That would be AMAZING!!! They sell to-go frozen pizzas for your trip back home. Hopefully it still tastes as good as fresh!

The restaurant is around the business district area and tourist area! It is a very close walk to this restaurant. The host of the restaurant was very polite, she served a table right away. Giorandos is a big restaurant can be served up to 79 customers, which is great if youre looking for a restaurant that can serve big group of people or family. The waiters are very polite and nice. They serve water right away and comes once in awhile by themselves to change your plates. The foods at the restaurant are so delicious. The waiting time for the pizza may be a little long but its worth the wait. The famous Chicago pizza for size small can be shared among 3 people. It is a great restaurant if you are looking for Italian food! The restaurant is also at many other areas. If you cannot finish your food, they may pack it for you in a box!
