Love the eyebrow threading lady. I don’t have to go to all the way to Devon anymore!

I give these guys a five star, and here’s why: Whether you are late for a needed hair cut or expecting a job interview Hadis’s Fades is the place to go. The reason being they are reliable because they work up to par by speed, the skill, and the customer respective they give. On days that are busy, you can be occupied by either their giant screen TV centered at their room or help your self with some snacks/drinks from the vending machines. They are artistic and passionate in their work and little to chatter unless you do. Highly recommended and affordable to the wallet.

I have been getting haircuts from Hadi for over 10 years, even before Hadi’s Fade was open and he was renting a chair at another shop. Hadi’s Fade is the only place I will let cut my hair and I was very excited to know he opened his own shop. The shop iteself is quite nice with a flat screen TV, vending machines and ample space to sit down. Of all the barbers there in my opinion, Hadi is the best but there are a few other good ones as well. Nino is pretty decent and the other guy that I think is Hadi’s nephew is pretty good to. Not sure about the other guys as they never cut my hair. He’s got a couple real young looking guys working there too but don’t worry. They are good guys and can cut hair. I have seem them do really nice things for other customers I just never had one of them cut my hair. If you don’t like the looks of your barber, don’t be afraid to ask for Hadi or Nino. They will accomodate your request and nobody takes it personal if you request a particular barber. My wife gets her eyebrows threaded there by Hadi and swears he is the best in Chicago. Her threading always looks peffect and she says he’s much more gentle than people are at other places. 10 bucks is a very good deal for the quality haircut you get at Hadi’s Fade. But there are some drawbacks, Hadi’s Fade does not accept appointments so expect to hang around for over an hour during prime hours. Hadi also will talk on the phone while he cuts hair and that never bothers me but I know some people find it annoying. Also, when you walk in he’s not going to greet you by rolling out the red carpet, etc. becasue he’s usually busy cuttting hair! If you want a crappy haircut and better service go to super cuts. If you want a great haircut and decent service go to Hadi’s(He does not have a receptionist so he has to answer the phone, take money as well as cut hair) Don’t be shy, tell him what you want and he will get you taken care of. I totally consider this place a hidden gem and travel from my job in Skokie every 2 weeks during my lunch hour to get my «fresh fade». Hadi’s Fade is the best! But don’t tell too many people though because it will get too busy there and I will have to wait longer to get my bi-monthly fade. :) Great neighborhood barber shop!!!

Prior to my last experience I would’ve given this place a solid 4. Though my last time there the barber I go to excused himself after I got in the chair. Comes back smelling like weed. I’m a dumbass for not getting up and leaving… but I figured maybe he does it all the time. Go figure I end up walking out of there looking like a chump with a slanted hairline across my forehead.

i’ve been going to these type of barber shops for at least 16yrs, and hadi has been cuttin my hair for the past 10yrs. there good ppl, i dont have to explain what type of hair cut i need he knows. and 10 dollars ant ish people just dont know how cheap that is, i was talkin to a friend that just paid 30 for the same dam thing! u go in, chill, bs, watch movies on a 60in plasma, it dont get any better than that. you people need to stop being so sensitive, thats a female characteristic. you wanna go to a ghetto ass barber shop head to chicago ave out west then compare the two. im gonna keep goin to Hadi’s til my hair falls out. fo real.

Agreed this place USED to be good has turned to utter crap. Heres my experience of my last final visit to this place– I walked in and everyone stopped what they were doing and there was a short silent pause. umm I say«Haircut please?» Guy yells«what kind ?» «umm number 2 fade?» Everyone goes back to working. I proceed to sit down with this dude on the phone. He asks his girl to stop talking for a second so he can do some work — «what you need?» I say again«number 2 fade.» He comes back with a clipper and starts to shave the front of my head. At this point I was pissed but wasnt sure how bad. The dude ended up shaving my entire head! WTF! All along this so called barber is talking on the phone the whole time about killing dogs, hitting women, and really shady scary stuff. I wasnt going to say anything to a guy thats talking about killing dogs and has a razor to my head. I paid and left and will never EVER go back…

To me barber shops is a place that you’re able to chill, lay back and stir up local chat. I found this place when I used it live near the shop. Now that I moved to the south loop I still continue to visit. The owner Hadi is super cool and loves to conversant. I choose to stick with a guy named Mike but I call him Short Mike. I rarely switch barbers not because the others don’t do a good job, I’m more of a loyalist to my barbers and why switch when you have something good. Plus it takes forever to find a new barber that I like. The shop is clean and always has movies playing. If you’re that type that needs to get your haircut before the weekend starts, I would recommend to stop by as soon as it opens. As for prices, its very cheap comparing to other shops that charge double what Hadi charges. They also do ladies hair but not sure exactly what services.

I’ve been getting haircuts in the Albany Park area for at least 11 years now. I used to go to Betty and Nick’s(Montrose and Kimball…$ 5 haircuts), until Hadi’s opened up. Hadi’s shop is worth the extra $ 2…the personal service and attention to detail are remarkably better than Betty and Nick’s. Hadi, Ben and Mike give the best fades. By the way, if you don’t know what a «fade» is… don’t go here. You will be surprised with the haircut you get. :) My haircut of choice is the«razor fade»…and Ben does an excellent job with this haircut. To avoid the long lines, do not go in on a Friday evening or on a Saturday. I’ve found that by going in the middle of the day during the middle of the week, there is rarely a wait.

I had been searching for a local barber shop that did really good fades for a while. I toyed with the idea of shaving something on the back of my head, some sort of geometric design. Perhaps even those two famous silhouettes of naked ladies that truckers are so fond of. But alas, such displays of individuality are frowned upon in a corporate environment. I decided on my usual, boring fade haircut. My only complaint about this place is that I waited for a loooong time. About an hour, maybe more. Luckily they had a big-screen TV with«Swordfish» playing. I ended up hoping it wouldn’t be my turn in the chair until after Hale Berry’s sunbathing scene :) I was quite happy with the haircut. I will definitely go back.

What a find! I read about this place in TimeOut Chicago a few months ago and I’ve been going there ever since. It’s a hike for me since I live in Rogers Park but well worth the trip. Great haircuts for $ 7(!?!). I incorrectly assumed I’d be rushed out but I was wrong. they really care about doing the BEST job. Very careful work and finishing. On Saturday mornings I see quite a few fathers bringing in their sons and everyone gets their hair cut. You cannot go wrong here. I only wish it was closer to home.
