Tried 3 different drinks all of them too sweet… Even though I specified not sweet. They were very nice to change them and agreed with me. The place looks cool from the outside… But it’s just a nice empty shell, no real ambiance inside. Too bad, I was looking forward to trying this place. Maybe just the wrong night. I’ll come back !

COST: $ 12(Some cocktail off their regular menu) $ 2.50 to $ 3.50(sliders) First of, the food was incredible. I tried the blue cheese and the kimchi sliders and they were both amazing. I’ve never had kimchi before, but their slider was amazing! The place has nice décor, and it’s definitely one of the classier bars in Chicago. I rated this place 3 stars on the sole fact that my bartender told me the price of the cocktails is by the hour you order it. I ordered it at 6 so I thought I’d pay that much and not the full $ 12 price. Well, I checked their wall and if you order Monday to Tuesday, happy hour prices are 5 – 7, Wednesday and Thursday it goes 7−9… or something like that. MAKESUREYOUCHECKTHEWALL(I went on a Thursday)! The drink was good for $ 6, but definitely NOT worth the $ 12. I wouldn’t really mind paying that much either really, but at least know your menu. That’s the least thing you could do as a server.

We have been here now a half dozen times and we are continually disappointed. They are routinely out of beer– tonight I asked for a Budweiser and got a Lone Star. Their cocktails are sub par for the River North but their prices are standard for the street. The layout is not conducive for a busy weekend night(there is a pool table the front entrance).

Great, laid back bar/restaurant… The ambience is hip and warm. I like the varying cocktail drinks and beer choices, it would be nice if they had some wine options outside of their sangria and prosecutors concoctions. What I like about the food is that it is served as little bite sized dishes almost like tapas in an Americanized cuisine. I also like that you can order as you go and it’s more like filling snacks rather than a sit down dining experience centered around the meal. Great place together after work or I could even see this a casual/relaxed first date.

Stopped by one evening with a large group of people, middle of the week, and ordered their in house bottled gin fizz and a sage/gin drink they had on tap. The gin fizz was very delicious, and had a nice creamy texture and the milk was a great twist. The sage/gin drink was also really delicious — sweet and savory, but not overwhelming of either flavor(you’d just not have to mind the flavor of sage). And knowing that it is an unusual flavor, my bartender was ready to change out my drink. We also got a deck of UNO cards from the bartenders to play while we were there and the first floor was a mash-up of tables, chairs, sofas, pool table and bar seating. Definitely a hipster vibe and cool black paneling and wood all over. Didn’t head downstairs but heard its a dance floor on the weekends.

Tiny yet hearty food, amazing cocktails, and a great liquor selection… what else do you need?! Henrys offers a fabulous experience, perfect for date night, groups, and parties. The slider menu is AWESOME. Fun, creative combinations that include gyro meat, chicken, and beef. Try the Kentucky Hot Brown and the Merkts Cheddar – yum! The best part? Each slider is between $ 2.50-$ 4 so you can try an eclectic variety at an adorable cost. The cocktail list reminds me of something you might find in a speakeasy and the options are delicious! The Swingin Doors is my favorite. Henrys staff is attentive, friendly, and efficient, which I’m a huge fan of. Don’t be afraid to ask a million questions about items – they have the patience of saints! Can’t wait for my next visit to Henrys – I know I’m in for a great time!

This is my favorite place in Chicago. Hands down! I came here 2 nights in a row two weekends ago(the night before my birthday and the night of my birthday) because the drinks and food here are that damn good. The prices are UNBEATABLE. I dream about the s’mores… I dream about the $ 3 oyster sliders(they’re all good, trust me!) It would’ve been three nights in a row but they’re closed on Mondays. The people that work here are super friendly! My friend and I got free shots for my birthday, my friend has gotten free s’mores for hers, and they also do industry nights where people who work in the industry get discounts. I talk about this place to my friends a lot because even though it’s not a dive bar or a sports bar or a pool hall or a hipster-scene underground speakeasy, it really has the best elements of them. It’s a cool and hip place with TVs to watch sports, a pool table or two, fun and creative drinks, and really great food. It’s comfortable without being dingy, edgy without being intimidatingly alternative. Also, if you have the balls to eat balls, they pay you $ 2 to do it!

I came here for a second time after leaving Sable down the street halfway thru dinner after experiencing sticker shock. We paid $ 12 for two tiny, mediocre sliders there which caused us to leave as I realized I could come here and get way better sliders for $ 2 – 3 each. We ordered one of the burgers and one of the chicken sliders and they were large and delicious. We also got an iceberg salad that was a good portion and decent for only $ 3. Overall we finished our dinner for $ 10 while enjoying good music and super friendly servers. Highly recommended for drinking, hanging out or eating. Great servers, low prices, cool atmosphere, and delicious food make Henry’s a big winner.

I’ve been wanting to go to Henry’s for sooo long and I finally got the chance when my parents were in town for a visit. We decided to go on a Sunday night because I’ve heard it gets busy and loud and I wanted us to not have to yell at each other. We walked in shortly after they opened and were able to take advantage of their happy hour– draft cocktails and beer are the price of the hour. We definitely took advantage of this with three of the four of us going the cocktail route. We had the scarlet begonias, swingin doors and top hat mag. I had a taste of each and they were all good! We started out with an order of Merkt’s fries and onion rings, which we devoured while we were trying to decide which sliders to try. I cant even remember what everyone ordered, but everyone was happy with their choices. We also did the balls challenge, which was actually chicken gizzards the night we were there. Our server(Lauren I believe) was excellent. She made sure we had everything we needed just the right number of times. The complimentary table side smores was the perfect way to end our evening at Henry’s. We can’t wait to come back!

Only reason I make a point to go to River North area is to enjoy Henrys. I have been treated well here on multiple occasions including at the bar and sitting at a table in both sober and not so sober states. In particular, the server Danny and manager Jason were great! Henry’s has an excellent cocktail menu with happy hour deals, cheap shots if needed, and a decent beer menu. I have always enjoyed my drinks here, I think it is great they have their own bottled cocktails as well. The food is good in itself and great for the price. It is hard to find a place in River North that is all a la carte where you have the option to pay just a few dollars if you want one taco or one slider. I’ve never been disappointed in the food here, and have particularly liked the pretzel, buffalo slider, merkts cheddar, and some type of poblano pepper goodness on rye bread. The servers are always happy to provide recommendations as well! Overall, Henry’s has higher quality drinks/snacks compared to the surrounding area and is slightly cheaper with excellent service. Great for groups at anytime in the night, very chill yet fun atmosphere!

I really want to give them 4.5 stars, but Unilocal won’t let you. I’ve been here a few times, and will definitely be back. They have a happy hour special now, where their«regular» cocktails are priced based on the hour($ 5 at 5:00, $ 6 at 6:00, etc.). The cocktails are very creative and try different combinations. If you have any bit of a sweet tooth, get the table-side s’mores. How often do you get to have(let alone cook) s’mores at a bar?! I’ve also done the big-ball challenge, which was mind over matter because they tasted just like any other fried appetizer if I didn’t think about the fact that I was eating testicles. But you do get $ 2 off your bill for eating them! I’ve had many of the sliders too, some were better than others, but all were pretty good, especially for the reasonable price. The one big downside for me is that it’s very loud in there. Hard to have a conversation at all, because the music is turned way up and then everyone talks loud over it. They also have a photo booth in the back, which is pretty cool as well. I definitely plan to make this a regular hangout.

My very favorite bar in River North! There never is much of a line, which can be a novelty in this area. Most of the time there are seats available at the bar or on the comfortable sofas in the front, where the large windows are opened up on comfortable summer/fall evenings. I’ve never eaten here, but who needs food when they have the Killing Floor on their drink menu. This is the most amazing jalapeño infused tequila and watermelon drink! Yes, watermelon and jalapeño sounds like a strange combination, but go there and try it and then tell me it doesn’t work! Damn, it’s good! The music can be LOUD so make sure you’re sitting close to those you plan to talk to. The walls are plastered with topless playboy cutouts and there may be half naked go go dancers walking around depending on the night. It has a very laid back vibe, but you can never know what to expect, but I guarantee that with enough Killing Floors you’ll enjoy it!

If I had an inner hipster, she’d think she’d died and gone to heaven here. Posh-hipster heaven. Even without being a bearded-tight-jean-wearing-bicycle-riding-Logan-square-type, Henry’s delivered. There’s a modern vibe that is eloquently meshed with a chill, speakeasy atmosphere. Top that off with the vampy sexiness of burlesque dancers, stripping down to their skivvies, and you have the makings of an unparalleled drinking environment. And boy, did we drink. I think I had 5 of the Hemline, which was the perfect combo of tart and boozy. It was a sipping drink, smooth yet sassy, which mimicked the feel of the bar. In retrospect, I wish I dabbled in their food offering, outside of the creepy staring/drooling I was doing from a far. They had this s’mores platter complete with mini flames to roast your mellows while you sip on your beverage. It looked like campfire goodness. Mess and all. I recall a conversation(or parts of one) where my bestie and I teased a table of burley dudes as they mauled down a massive platter of nachos. It was a heaping mountain of chips, cheese and toppings… And somewhat intriguing to witness four dudes straight up devour. There’s a photo booth. Because alcohol always makes a photo booth an optimal idea. Plus– it was less than the cost of a drink, and(at the rate we were sipping those down) lasts a hell of a lot longer. So Henry’s is definitely a great avenue to spend an extraordinary evening out with friends– if you’re down for the hipster scene transplanted, you must venture in. Come thirsty, and prepare for flesh and follies remnant of the prohibition era. Actually looking forward to visiting again!

Pros: Love this place! They have mini apps for $ 2 – 3 and are amazeballs some even have alcohol! My fav being from KY is the hotbrowns, next is the Bloody Mary shooters. Seriously though, they serve MOODYTONGUEBEER! Omg it is so hard to find even though it is a Chicago made beer! Cons: They don’t play sound for games :(

Solid option for a more chilled out bar in River North. Went on their Wednesday night 90’s night, which consisted of Friends episodes running on the big screen and a 90’s playlist that brought back good memories of grade school, except for the drinking. Good happy hour special running with draft cocktails(normally priced $ 11) for whatever the hour from 5−8pm. i. e 6:38 = $ 6. Draft beers are included as well, but those are almost all 6 bucks so not much of a deal. Sliders were also all $ 2. Bar was pretty busy, especially during happy hour time. So much so that it was pretty hard to hear the people sitting at your table, everyone had to shout, but whatev’s I guess it’s the cool place to be! Food wise we all really like our sliders, we tried an assortment and the burgers were probs the fav. We also tried the Merkt cheese fries and is maybe just go with the regular next time, these were mush city USA. To top off the meal they gave us some«love»(as they coded it on the receipt) and comped us some s’mores that we toasted at our table. Super fun! Cocktails wise, we tried a couple of the drafts, I liked the Killing Floor which was watermelon with spicy tequila. Good aftertaste hit of spice. All the drafts were quite sweet though and maybe not particularly strong. To end the night I decided to get my trusty standby, an old fashioned, and was kind of disappointed. Haven’t been to a cocktail bar in a while that doesn’t do an orange peel around the rim! Nice spot though, would be back for the happy hour or maybe the Sunday comedy night.

Been to this great bar several times. So many reasons to love this place: the décor, the crumpled 1980s Playboy magazines just sitting about, the ram testicles on the menu, the $ 100 bottle service of only Jack Daniels, the classic rock music. Unfortunately, the bartender service at the main bar was extremely slow during this past visit and that is the sole reason for the one-star deduction from the perfect five-star score. Keep up the great work guys, maybe hire another barkeep.

I had a great time at Henry’s with my friend Yvonne. Nikki C. even popped over to sit with us for a bit. Yvonne had a gift certificate treat for 4 cocktails and a GIANTNACHO. The giant nachos were as described — GIANT! we did not have it in us to finish them. I also ordered 3 of the sliders: kentucky hot brown, fried chicken and elvis! They were all really good but my favorite was the fried chicken. We had the semifreddo version of the mezcal mule due to it not being completely frozen but they were good. Yvonne also tried a phosphene dream and I had another candy says. The drinks and the food were both great. Service was on point as we arrived early and were one of only a few tables. I will definitely be back to try out the downstairs rec room area.

This cool river north spot is known for its awesome cocktails and sliders. As soon as I walked in, I knew I wasn’t hip enough to be there. Damnit! Why did I wear my conservative work clothes to the cool kids club? There was no going back, so I quickly took a small table in the corner. Of course, the waitress turned out to be amazing — why wouldn’t she be? As I waited for my friend to get there, she suggested I give the Pocket Watch cocktail a try, which was pretty spot on. The rest of the night she was the perfect balance of attentive but not hovering, friendly but nonchalant. A rare breed of service indeed. After shouting at each other for awhile over the blaring rock and roll music, my friend and I settled on ordering the portobello fries and an assortment of sliders to try. My favorites were the lamb and the fried chicken with wildflower honey. I admit that we also tried the big ball challenge… mostly because I have no shame when it comes to getting a discount. This place even has free pool and playing cards. So basically, everything you could want and s’more(see what I did there?)

In town from Dallas for the weekend. Great service! What a fun and cute place. Super artsy. Reminds me of Austin, which I love. We were the only people there promptly at 3:30 but whatever. The bartender was friendly and attentive. All of the food is served individually and super cheap. We ordered sliders and the bartender gave us free cheese fries which were delish!!! The ambiance here is great. They play cool music. They were all super nice and gave us some great tips on delicious pizza places that were off the beat and path. If I lived here is absolutely come back! Oh and the watermelon beer was great for summer time! Yum.
