Sunday night and wanted to chill with a hookah and watch the basketball game. Despite some of the reviews I’ve seen, went in anyway and noticed it wasn’t too crowded. Armed with the Unilocal 50% off deal, picked out the Mint Chocolate hookah($ 9ish with deal). Lady said that if I’m using the offer, I could only sit and smoke till 9:30pm(it was 8:45pm at that point); otherwise it’s full price. Odd practice but I was fine with it. Also(she added), I could only sit in two spots because all the empty tables were reserved. Another odd request considering I could only stay until 9:30pm anyway, but it let me mingle with some Chicago natives. Despite the initial rule breakdown, the hookah came out fast and it was packed well. Free coals and no drink requirement. Overall, the place is fine — 3 stars is about right.

All the hookah store/lounges in Chicago this is the only one that sells tangiers tobacco. Thank you Chrissy for being so helpful today helping me get my cane mint! I will definitely be back!

My cousin and I ended up here after searching for a hookah place in the city that seemed cute and welcoming. I’m glad I decided to check this place out because we had outstanding service and the flavors are great. I regretfully forgot the name of the lady that served us, but she is amazing! She told us if we weren’t satisfied with our flavor in the first 5 minutes, to let her know and that she would change it out for us. We also ordered coffee which was deliciously brewed with lactate milk. I think the hooka prices are on the expensive side, but is received a 50% discount for checking into Unilocal! I would come back with a bottle of wine and a larger group in the near future!

I came to Chicago to visit and I decided to stop by this lounge and let me tell you, terrible terrible experience. I don’t know what it is but as soon as I walked in I was kicked out for no reason what so ever. I would not recommend this place to anyone at all. Very very very rude servers. If you are a Muslim, don’t support them. They are very racist, I was with a group of others but as a Muslim I wear a head scarf. As soon as I walked in I was asked to leave where as my friends were never asked to leave. I just felt very discriminated against. Edit: What’s funny is that there are so many reviews talking about your rude behavior and their terrible experience. So what’s your excuse for them? Secondly I didn’t mention anything about you guys saying we smell bad… Must’ve been another group of Muslims you guys kicked out that your mistaking us for. But to defend them… This hookah place is full of hookah smoke and hookah sent, I doubt you would even be able to smell a dead animals body in there because the hookah scent would over power anything. Please stop discriminating and learn to run a business equally.

I am not even a smoker but I enjoyed some great hookah for the 1st time when I visited this place. Is a good chilled spot where people can go and relax. The staff are down to earth. Till my next visit to the Windy City, I am definitely coming back to House of Hookah,

The crew is amazing and super friendly. Very knowledgeable, let you smell all kinds of flavors. The list of flavors is insane. Great quality and it’s a clean place with comfy seating. People complain that they have a fee per person whether they smoke or not. Well, how could they survive if a group of 6 people ordered one hookah?

Hookah for 2 people is $ 18. The staff is friendly, hookah was good. We had the watermelon flavor. The reason I took off some points was because it’s very crowded inside, you’re actually sitting with people you don’t even know. We were in such a tight squeeze next to two other groups, I felt like we were all together even though we did not know them. We had to wait probably 45 minutes just for a table, they do take down your name and number but I do feel like they almost pick and choose who they want to go first. Place is very small.

First of all, it’s a total scam to have a two hour limit on hookah. The only reason they can get away with it is because it’s in Lakeview. We got our hookahs at 10:30 and by 11:45, we were getting kicked out. Despite getting 2 hookahs between three people. Not to mention the fact that my Moroccan mint tea came in a giant tea cup, I’ve never seen it served in anything but glass.

I came in a group of two and they accommodated us right away by seating us with another group of two. This way we got to sit on a comfy couch, instead of those awkward 2 person table in the middle of the room. Maybe go with a group of 4 if you want one of those fun seats where you sit on pillows. They make you order 2 hookahs if you sit up there and there’s no way I could smoke a whole one to myself, but I’m not avid in nicotine. Strawberry smoothie was yummy – tasted like a daiquiri. We got mango guava hookah and I thought it’d be fruitier tasting, but wasn’t bad. Guy serving us was friendly.

Cool location, but they try to push you out even when no one is waiting. Tacky and a big turn off.

I love this hookah bar, though it’s small. Their hookah flavors are amazing. I’ve been here about four times and I am never unhappy with the hookah. The tea is also very good. Try the evening in Missoula tea with the mila kunis hookah, perfect combination!

Been coming here for quite sometime now and I really think this is one of the best sheesha places in the city. Their sheesha hits very smooth and they have a knowledgeable staff and one of the best parts is their drinks are legit — coffee, tea and stuff. I really like their packing skills and customer service is good.

The hookah is same price as ambrosia or Sama lounge or arabesque café. They have a limit time of 70 min which is insane and make people get off after 70 min and the prices of hookah is 3 times more than to buy on Devon st in in the Indian neighbourhood. I would never go back here as they clock you on time. It’s the worst hookah place to go as you live your life as Per time.

By far the best hookah experience I’ve had outside of my own home lounge. It was really crowded, but the vibe was cool, the other patrons around me were really friendly. They had an excellent selection of shisha; Jose really knew his stuff! My tip? Be sure to ask for natural coals and a Flavor Saver. You’ll have a great smoke!

I’m not sure what the negative reviews are all about but I went here with friends last Saturday and we had a great time. It’s $ 17 for a hookah for two people, its BYOB and if it’s packed there is a wait time to get a table. We had a table for a bit, then a spot opened up where we could lay down on some pillows and be more comfortable, and they let us move! The workers were really nice too. Like I said, not sure what the bad reviews are but maybe they have changed big time since those reviews were posted. I would recommend getting the Mint Chocolate!

Definitely a good hookah bar all around. House of Hookah has some inventive house-mixed flavors, they sell hookah equipment, hookahs, and shisha. We came in with no reservation on a Thursday and we got one of the lounge seats in the back. You sit on pillows and have a table for snacks or glasses. This lounge is BYOB and charges per person. Our server was nice and came by several times, they also have a coal-refresher, as any good hookah bar should. If in the Belmont area, I will look no further for a chill hookah spot

My wife and I come here often to have a drink and smoke a bit. It’ll cost you about 20 bucks for a hookah and 3 bucks a person for BYOB. If you aim to sit along the walls you’ll need to get at least two hookahs unless they are dead on a weeknight. While I find this annoying, it is just like a restaurant telling you they won’t put two people at a table for 8 so I understand why they do it. They have a wide variety of flavors and you can add fruit bowls to the top for $ 5 each. My wife and I have really enjoyed the Melon and the Rose. Rose with the orange fruit bowl has been especially good. There are also a bunch of different teas and shakes you can get as well. The staff constantly changes out coals to keep them hot which is nice. I highly recommend sitting away from the door in the winter if you can. Most patrons seem to be mentally deficient and like to keep the door wide open for long periods of time while they enter and exit to ensure you end up frozen to your chair if it is cold out.
