Jivesh and Jamie did an amazing job with me. I went to J Toor after being incredibly disappointed with Wilfred Newman and searching the city for the right tuxedo and having no luck. They are the BEST! Not only was the service flawless, timely, and professional, but the final product is even better than I expected. The quality of the bespoke tuxedo is one of the best that I have ever seen. The tailoring was impeccable and I could not be happier. I will only go back to J. Toor and no one else for my suiting needs! I am proud to call them now my friends. They have the panoply for the perfect gentleman, just as you would find in the most exclusive stores in France for reasonable prices for the level of quality they provide. This store is truly a Chicago treasure — you will not be disappointed! Thanks so much guys!

Amazing one of a kind store with impeccable details and some of the most unique things a man could ever want or need. Stand out from the«common» look. Ask for Giffin, he found my man aka«one picky human being» the greatest scent and an amazing travel bag he will cherish for years. Fashion can be bought here! wish they open a woman’s store.

Beautiful store with clothes to match. From suits, blazers and ties to cuff links, shoes and luggage. Great customer service and support. No hovering, extremely knowledgable and definitely have a passion that shows. While speaking with the staff — who are the owners — I learned that they are a locally owned small business who seek out their unique and well-made men’s clothing from the UK and America in addition to their bespoke wares. They also are all fellow Purdue Boilermakers as well. I purchased my first vest with these folks and have my eye on some cool luggage they had along with some blazers. I’ll be back and look forward to supporting fellow Boilers as well as a nice local small business in this day and age of Walmarts/Costcos. Definitely worth a look and recommend you stop bye if in the area.

Jivesh, Jamie, and Diana are three of the greatest people I’ve ever bought clothes from. They offer killer bespoke suit and shirt options, that run from conservative to off-the-wall. I made my first purchase J. Toor almost 2 years ago, and these items are still among my favorite pieces in my wardrobe. They’ve recently expanded their floor space(FYI they’re now located on the 3rd floor), and now offer a larger selection of handmade items, as well as fragrances, luggage, and home goods. It’s a great place to pick up a gift for someone special. From a cost perspective, I find J. Toor be a good value, despite being a luxury story. I’ve enjoyed the durability and fit of the clothes I’ve purchased here, compared to the often lower quality, off-the-rack luxury brand clothes I’ve bought at a similar price point. To sum it all up: Do you(or someone you’re quite fond of) like suits, ties, and/or dress clothes? Have you ever wanted your own custom fit jeans and/or polo shirt? Do you want clothes that look sharp and are built to last? If you were even slightly inclined to say yes with any of those questions, you HAVE to stop by J Toor.

I came across this suit maker at a wedding expo. The fabrics are amazing and the custom work is top notch. This is a step above made-to-measure suits — you work with them to create a custom unique suit for you. The review by Tim P says it all!

Jivesh Toor operates his namesake bespoke speakeasy out of the 5th floor of the 900 N Michigan Ave Shops. I first came across J Toor when I was strolling along outside of Bloomindale’s and happened to stop in to check the place out. I found out they make bespoke menswear. They do have a selection of handmade pocket squares and ties that you can purchase, but the lure of this place is bespoke at a great value. I went home, did some research, and set up an appointment to come back a few weeks later for my initial consultation which took place over a glass of fine scotch. Why would one bother with bespoke, you may ask, when you can buy a Ready-to-Wear suit off the rack and get it altered to fit you? Well, I for one, wanted a suit that I could control the design on — namely, a prince-of-wales suit with slim peak lapels, soft shoulder, slim jacket sleeve, one front button, contrast stitching around the functional cuff buttons, and a single pleat down the front of the skinny pants. I’ve done made-to-measure before, but you don’t get complete control over the design process. With bespoke, you can be sure that the pattern they cut for you is yours alone and no one else in the world will have the same suit you do. All their bespoke suits are interlined with with a full floating canvas and have working cuff buttons. In your traditional bespoke house you have the roles of salesman, cutter, and tailor. Jivesh plays the role of salesman, telling me about fabrics, features, and price points, and also carries some of the duties of the cutter — taking my measurements, and advising on fit. My initial consultation, which included fabric and feature selection as well as measurements, took almost two hours. These measurements are all keyed into the computer and sent to the United Kingdom where the tailor there cuts your pattern, stitches your garment, and sends it back to Chicago. I then came it for my first fitting, where we continued to make minor adjustments(he corrected a roll below the back of my collar, gave me additional waist suppression, fixed the length of my suit sleeves, and tapered my pants a little). These were sent out to a local tailor, and the second fitting was scheduled about five days later where I came back, tried on the suit, and walked out of there with my first ever bespoke garment. I highly recommend J Toor if you are considering the bespoke process as their price point is fairly accessible for their entry level fabrics(construction is the same across all their suits). Of course, you can opt to pay more and get their designer label fabrics(of which they have a wide range — think Dormeuil, Holland & Sherry, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Loro Piana, Drago Biella). Jivesh told me they also make custom shirts and outerwear. I’m already plotting my next suit…
