Good food, fair prices, fast service. Too bad they don’t deliver! Salsas are OK. They have pretty good sopes!

We have been to this place several times. We simply LOVE their food. They don’t talk much but their service is good. «Action speaks louder than words».

I love this place! Being the taco fanatic I am, Janitzio is one of my favorite examples of the simplicity that comes along with the sheer brilliance of Mexican food. Traditional uncomplicated Mexican cuisine at very reasonable prices. A rarity in Lincoln Park. Don’t get me wrong, you can get a good taco in LP. Even some playful delicious variations. But on an evening where I’m getting out of work later than expected & the last thing I wanna do is cook. I’m ecstatic just thinking about the chicken enchiladas I’m gonna get from Janitzio.

Girl up front is so nice and accommodating. Taste(just a tad more salt) is fine and prices are cheap! Downside: — I know the taco shells were grilled fresh, but the texture was that of staleness. –I don’t know what’s going on, but my plate came hot, but it got cold REAL quick? Or the meat was a bit less than room temp in less than 1 min. Personal taste preference : –the meat is too lean and minimal grease for my taste. Upshot, if you’re healthy whatevs then that’s good. –wish the meat was chopped bigger — green hot sauce has a peculiar taste, but heat is on point(lacking in other taco joints). TIP: BYOBANDBATHROOMISINTHEBACK. & take advantage of dinner plates, comes out cheaper than a la carte Recommend for drunken and/or broke nights. Would I come back? Yes, but not in a hurry.

I think the food was great. Standard authentic Mexican food. Little hole in the wall joint. Friendly staff. I ordered to go and that is my only complaint. The boxing of the food is in a box with no ribs. Everything slides together into one big mexican mush. A tasty mush but not appealing to eat.

I love getting their guac(made fresh) and salsa. It’s maybe $ 5 for both and what’s more, it’s available until the wee hours of the morning.

Exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it. This is the perfect place to get your low-cost Mexican food into the wee hours of the night. Open til 5am on the weekends

Best cheap and late night Mexican food around! Burritos are okay but the enchilada and other whole meals are great. Looking for a after bar grab– this is your place.

I come here on occasion when I want something other than Chipotle. Can’t beat the prices and the burritos are huge. Also, they have really good cheese fries lol.

Good tasting and fast Mexican food for a relatively cheap price. Not much else to day other than I’d recommend the chicken chimichanga and carne Asada burrito suiza.

A Mexican fast food joint, this place is authentic with speedy service. I was in the neighborhood looking for something quick to eat at around 10:30pm and everything(besides bars or sit down restaurants) was closed. I walked by this place and they were open. I figured I’d stop in and check them out. The good: They have all of your basic burritos, tamales, tacos, tortas, etc. A no frills place, my order was up in 5 minutes. I got two enchiladas with rice and beans. Their portions were average. Not too bad for averaging about $ 7-$ 8 per plate. Also, they have late hours — open til 2am most days of the week. The bad: The downside to this place is that it is so small, there is only space to seat around 10 – 12 people. There are exactly three tables and one small countertop. Also, they were blasting Family Guy from a small TV on their wall. Not everyone is into that. There were other people in the restaurant trying to have a conversation that were fighting to be heard over the TV. While the food was made quickly and tasted okay, I feel like they were stingy with the amount of sauce they put on the enchilada. Also, I did want something to drink, but their only choices were Jarritos and canned pop. I was hoping they’d have Horchata or Maltas available. Oh well. Not a bad place to stumble upon late in the evening. If you’re looking for some quick, basic, inexpensive Mexican food after hours, this is your place. For me, there was nothing really stellar about it. I may go back again to give them another shot, but it didn’t really stand out to me as anything great.

Not sure how this taste sober but when you’re drunk it tastes pretty good. I just got the burrito with avocado, chicken, rice, sour cream. I like the wrap itself(thin and flaky). It’s cheap, carry out, and opened late for the late night munchies.

Only a few tables to sit at so mostly a carry out place. Tacos are a bit expensive but steak tacos on corn tortillas with solamente onion & cilantro is the way to go

Midnight on a Sunday and we needed food! Not really any other options but i got 2 chicken tacos and pat got a burrito which had a nice crisp to it due to the grill which was a nice change. Both were good. Staff was nice.

I have no idea how this place has four stars. The staff is friendly despite the drunk mess of customers. That is the only good thing I can say. I got a vegetarian burrito which was supposed to have avocado slices. It had mainly onions and lettuce. No avocado. The burrito leaked a white substance when I took the first bite. I thought the guacamole would be at least edible. Not so much. If you want a burrito when other places aren’t open… buy tortillas and stuffings from CVS and save yourself from the upset stomach.

At 3:00am, there isn’t much to choose from when it comes to food around the area. Fortunately, Janitzio Burrito is open till 5am on the weekends. It’s not often that I’ll say this but I recommend getting the burrito over the tacos. Even though I love tacos, the burritos are cooked well. They are thinner but longer than what you expect and the tortilla is crispy from being grilled. Unfortunately, I watched the cook microwave the meat before throwing it on the grill. Nuke food should really be kept at home or gas stations. Tacos are sold at $ 2.15 each which is a little more than most fast food Mexican joints but for the location and being open late, it’s not bad but there are other places that are better.
