Great jerk chicken! Great service. Very affordable Wish they had red stripe :) but they don’t have a liquor license. Still great experience

Enough food for an entire family for $ 15.00 including tip! Great food and friendly staff service with a smile! Highly recommended!

Wow, I’m going to keep this brief because there’s really no purpose wallowing in the muck and mire on a fine snowy day in Chicago. We came in to order and the guy said that he never agreed to the Groupon. Truthfully, this is the first time this has ever happened so it was quite dumbfounding. The owner suggested a call to customer service. Well the plot thickens — I called groupon and it states more than a one hour wait! — wait a minute(or 60 minutes) are they trying to beat the records set by the US post office? So we tried online chat, Groupon finally stated that their systems show no «alert» and the groupon«should» be valid. The good news is, after a lot of time with customer service chat, we got reimbursed in groupon bucks. That was a whole lot of aggravation for some jerk chicken that we never got. So I wonder who is being the Jerk(yes, intentional pun) in this case, is it the business owner or Groupon(share price $ 2.78, down from $ 87?). Or Is it me, for complaining about this — at a time when there’s global warming and hunger across the globe. Perhaps I’m the jerk? Yes, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m being a pain and I really should give Jerky Jerk another chance?

I work in Rodgers Park area and order out a lot for lunch… Jerky Jerk is a refreshing change to the usual pizza joints or fast food options … The jerk chicken is the shizznitt… My choice of sides would be rice n beans, yams or the plantains … All good !!!(so far that’s all I tried I’m sure the rest is good as well) …In the mood for some thing different check this place out … They deliver and you get a ton of food … The owner is a great guy, very personable and wants to make sure your pleased with your order…

Great food but I received bad service for the second time. I ordered for pick up one entrée platter with 4 additional sides and a beef patty for pick up which came out to $ 34 at 1:30 pm. After arriving later than the pick up time stated, I received my order after 2:30.

I try my best not to compare Jamaican foods with other Jamaican places… Sadly I couldn’t help that this place fell short! I’ve eaten here 3 times and on all occasions the curried goat tastes different. There’s a lack of consistency in the flavor of the curry and the portions. Secondly the side mentioned rice and peas… Instead I got a white rice with gravy and a FEW beans in it… Just really poorly prepared food! I was very disappointed and feel this is the last time I’d go here! I’d rather go to the place on Howard or go all the way to Bronzeville for quality! I love Caribbean cuisine and hope this place can find a recipe and stick to it! The tastes of the food should be CONSISTENT so that people know why they’re going there!

So good. I had the wrap, my boyfriend had the curry, and a friend had the jerk chicken. I tasted both of theirs and was almost ready to give up my wrap in trade… almost. The wrap was amazing! Give them a try because they’re totally worth it. I can’t gush enough about how much I enjoyed their food.

On my last previous employer work trip, I had to go to Jamaica, Queens. It was there that I basically consumed enough Jamaican food to last a lifetime. But, when my bf suggested checking this place out, who was I to deny him? Jerky Jerk is cute, definitely colorful with a few tables to dine in at. There’s also some ready made, cafeteria choices as well. We decided on jerk chicken(my bfs go to) and curry goat(me). The goat was reallly delicious, super flavorful. The rice and beans were really good, too The highlight was that cabbage salad, though. Mu bf liked the chicken, but ultimately wished it was a little spicier. What i thought was really cool about this place was the vegetarian jerk stir fry options. They all sounded incredible. The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes and the woman behind the counter was very friendly. Street parking was easy-ish on Devon.

The best thing we got as far as fast food Jamaican on the north side! Owner very sweet and personable! Ordered a whole jerk with beans and rice with gravy as a side and cabbage. Although spice not as spicy as I would like it owner added some fresh scotch bonnets to the sauce for me. Some like it hot and that somebody is me! All and all great flavor on the chicken will go back!

The last time I visited this restaurant it was not great. The food was old and did not taste west indies. Today I went back and got the jerk chicken dinner with plantain and festival. I was really happy. I grew up in Jamaica, hell my family is still down there so I know how the spices should taste. Sometimes I go to Jamaican restaurants and the flavor has some odd ingredient or doesn’t have that boldness. Not saying they have to dump a handful of scotch bonnet peppers in the dishes(mmmmm.yum) but I should feel that Caribbean rhythm in the food. The rice and peas was really good, and hot! The festivals were good too which they weren’t so long but still good. The plantains were sweet and delicious. Now on to the jerk chicken. Yum! It had a very bold flavor that I liked. It wasn’t dry and I got chopped pieces not whole huge pieces. I can also tell that its under new management. There wasn’t that loud music and he food was open to the air. They also have a sexy lady at the counter. Will be my new to go Jamaican place.

The food here is authentic unlike some other«Jamaican places». This is coming from a born and raised Jamaican

There are traditional dishes that I always get whenever I go to Jamaican restaurants. Beef patties are one of them. Unlike some beef patties that I’ve gotten at a few other Jamaican restaurants, the ones at Jerky Jerk were stuffed with meat. There were no air pockets in these, and with them being spicy, I ordered five more for take-away. I hadn’t had curry chicken in months and I had an appetite for some in a major way. Spicy and loaded with Caribbean taste, the plate of tender chicken with rice and peas and cabbage really made my day. And because I had been in the gym, I was not full even after the plate of curry chicken. So, I had some Mrs. Brown chicken stew with more rice and peas and more cabbage. I can’t say exactly what spices were in the recipe other than what seemed like a marriage of curry and jerk seasoning. What I can say is that I was more than happy to order more of the curry chicken and Mrs. Brown stew chicken for taking home with me.

I stopped by to see the menu, and chatted with someone at the counter(I presume he was the owner). He was a lovely person and passionate about his business! I was very pleased to hear that the restaurant had beef patties! It’s been almost 3 years since I had a beef patty, and this one was better than the I remembered. I will definitely be back with my husband. He is a big fan of Jamaican curry and oxtail, so we’ll be back!

Food was amazing — we got jerky jerk chicken(half which was huge portion for two people), jerk chicken sandwich and plantains. Even our toddler really liked it… and he loved the jams they were playing at the restaurant when we went to pick up. Only thing was the wait — we ordered ahead to pick up but still had to wait quite a bit once we got there

Awful delivery service. We ordered at 7:30 with an estimated delivery time of 8:25 — 8:35. At 9:05, we called to ask about the delivery since it hadn’t arrived yet. They said(without even asking the name on the order) that it would arrive soon. At 9:30, we called again, multiple times, and no one answered the phone… and the voicemail box was full. The food finally arrived at 9:40. Then we realized they forgot our plantains. Boo. Will not order from here again.

DONTORDERFROMHERE. I’ve tried to order delivery from here twice and both times have been awful. The first time took over 3 hours to get my food, but the kid on the phone was extremely apologetic, and grub hub gave me a refund and some extra cash. Decided to try it again and even worse! Used Unilocal in-app delivery service and after two hours with no food or answer from the restaurant I cancelled the order. Called the restaurant and got into a screaming match with the owner. Worst customer service ever!!!

Went for lunch as I was in the neighborhood. Wish the menu had more info on what stuff was. I went with the lunch special, jerk chicken sandwich, with fries and can of coke. It was made to order and best jerk chicken I have had. Served on white bread with lettuce and tomatoes. Fries were great as well, fresh cut and fresh made. Will for sure go back and try something else, even if I’m not sure exactly what it is.

I thought this jerk was very interesting! It was a smoked jerk med hot with a reddish orange sauce. Really tasty! Rice and peas were nice too. The oxtail looked good and will try next time… Congrats to the owner!

It was a nice spot. But had a lot of flaws. Candied Yams were way too sweet and dry. Macaroni was dry and seemed microwaved. To top it off, the jerk Chick did not have that jerk BBQ flavor and the jerk sauce was too spicy and tasted nothing like jerk sauce. The rice was very dry. I didn’t finish any of the sides and it all cost me 15 $. I will stick to Jerk Villa on Cermak. I try to support black businesses but the quality was not good. All of the sides were sitting out I’m the front with no covers on them.

It’s hard to be unbiased. We ordered delivery through GrubHub and about 15 minutes after the order was placed, we got a call saying they were out of the Goat Curry. No problem — we asked to substitute the Chicken Curry. TWOHOURSLATER, our food arrives and it’s cold. Not warm. Cold. We got mac and cheese that looked like it was made last week and we were missing an item from the order. That said, the chicken was all seasoned well? The flavors were great, the meat was well cooked. But it wasn’t worth the wait. And obviously we would have preferred fresh and warm food. At least they refunded everything, which makes me hope that maybe our experience was a fluke?
