This place gets five stars from me, no doubt. The Jamaican beef patties are the real deal. Very clean and friendly. Such a wonderful odor from all the baked specialties. I recommend the pineapple pop with your order!!!

very sneaky to situate themselves so close to my doctor’s office so that after I get my cholesterol tested I can order as many patties as I want. a recommendation I have is to take your patties(because why would you order only one, do you hate yourself) and your ginger beer to Howard Beach Park across the way and eat them while staring at the lake. just my 2¢!

I’ve been craving Jamaican beef patties, and they’re really hard to find here at a decent price. Luckily, there’s Caribbean American Bakery! I really like the ones here! They keep theirs warm here, so I had it nice and toasty. Also tried the curry chicken and jerk chicken patties. The curry chicken patty had shredded or hand pulled chicken in a nice curry seasoning and was also another winner. The jerk patty was flavourful but I got quite a number of bones in mine. Also, don’t forget the coco bread! I was scared it wasn’t going to be soft when I got it, but I am glad that it was! Not sure if it was fresh since it was a bit colder, but it was still good.

Went to you guys 2 weeks ago. Also checked out Sunrise Caribbean restaurant up the road. So here at the bakery I placed my order en route. I was given a call back to confirm that my 24 patties would be ready around a certain time. These guys are excellent. Bought 12 beef patties and 12 Vegetarian — all excellent. Crackers, white bread and some bulla. I had been here once before and these guys do a great job.

First time at this bakery. Curry chicken patties are good. I bought a loaf of the wheat hardo bread and it was very crunchy when I toasted it. I would come back to this place if Iam in the area to try some other things in the bakery.

Why do you have such piss-poor service? There are so many sad part of this story. The first sad part is that I really like the food, their beef patties are the best on the northside; second sad part is that I have been going there for over 10 years; third sad part is that if they had better service I would not recommend them to everyone. I have brought this to the owner’s attention at least 4 times in the past 10 years and hire after hire they are rude. Today I walked in to get a patty and the young lady behind the counter was seated with her headphones in her ear, I had to be the first one the say«hello,» then she said hello and stared at me like I did something to her. I then said, «o-k» and she said she was«waiting for you to say hello back to her.» See because she had the headphones in her ears she didn’t hear me say hello. I was now pissed off, so I ordered and asked for the owner. Now, complaint #5 in 10 years! I asked him to please post signs on all the items so I can lessen my interaction with his rude employees. He confirmed that he has heard this complaint numerous times, then instead of saying he will address the problem he wanted to talk about the signs I requested! I’m done!

My Jamaican sweet had a big milestone birthday and I needed a big authentic Jamaican food order. I wanted the the best and Caribbean Bakery delivered. The jerk pork was outstanding. Working with Michael was a pleasure. Everyone at the party gave rave compliments about the deliciousness.

I heard their beef patties were awesome, but I also heard that their staff is a little lackluster in the polite department. I went in and waited behind two ladies for quite some time since they were both from Jamaica and were having a private conversation with the sales girl. When it was my turn, I politely requested two beef patties. The woman next to me asked if they had the veggie ones, and the sales girl rolled her eyes at her! She never spoke to me, never looked me in the eye, and she certainly was in no hurry to help anyone in line. She just shoved them in a bag, put it on the counter, and started to walk off. When i asked if i could also have a cinnamon bun, the woman rolled her eyes at me too! Service score here is ZERO. Now, the beef patties were good, but Rogers Park Market(on the corner of Clark and Rogers) has bigger, better ones that are cheaper too. And, they don’t roll their eyes at polite customers. On the up upside, their cinnamon buns here are DELICIOUS. I would love one, but I wouldn’t bother going in here again. Perhaps if you look like you could be from the Caribbean, you get better service.

When they have fresh things they are good but most of the time when I go there I want vegetable patties and they don’t have them. They either never have Coco bread or the Coco bread that they have is old and hard. It is hard to find fresh Coco bread whenever I go. When it is fresh though it is very good.

My go to place for Jamaican beef patties. Caribbean folks swear by these, and theirs are delicious! There aren’t a lot of Jamaican restaurants in the area, definitely not with good jerk chicken, so I’m happy that this place has it… and it’s good. Comes with rice ‘n peas, and plantain and sometimes cabbage. The gravy is a bit different than the authentic jerk sauce that I’m used to, yet it has a nice flavor and level of heat. They have a variety of freshly baked goods as well, whether you’re seeking bread or something sweet. It’s all carryout, no place to dine in, but very convenient. And if you call ahead, your order can be ready for pickup. I love that they’re nearby and have been here for as long as I can remember. If I remembered to check in when I go, I would have millions!

Great place for some Jamaican patties they have a nice variety on deck. They also have this cheese I can’t find anywhere else. My wife and I always get two pieces of the cheese when we go. They aslo have some small loafs of bread we get to go with the cheese.

Amazing brownies and ginger cake. One complaint: make more brownies so you have enough for folks popping in after 5P

A great neighborhood place, especially good for economical catering. The meat patties are the best of any place I know. Jerk chicken and rice&peas can’t be beat. Lots of sweets available. I’m partial to the plantain tarts and the pineapple upside down cake.

This place is great for their baked goods. The customer service is dry depending on who is working the counter, but honestly its fine with me because they arent rude, and their products are sooooooooooo yummy. wish i lived closer.

Okay service but that’s ok the food makes up for it. The Jerk chicken is one of the best in town, the beef patties are yum and so are the pastries. My favorite patties is the curry chicken :-)

Absolutely one of the best jerk chicken dinners I’ve ever tasted. I would like to see more customer service attitude from the cashier but clearly she hates working there. It may be a cultural thing but I do like a smile and thank you when I’m patronizing your business. That is not to say anything negative about the food I would suggest this place to everyone. Reviews are supposed to be honest, not fake so sorry if that comment seems negative, to you.

On Fridays and Saturdays they have jerk chicken dinners that are worth the trip across town.

Best jerk chicken outside of Jamaica. Also give there meat pies a try. It’s nice to have a bakery on the north side with this traditional stye. As a side note the do have a catering menu.

I got there right before closing but was still able to snag a couple of items. I decided on beef patties and jerk chicken patties washed down with a Jamaican ginger beer. The patties were tasty enough. They were a nice size, under three bucks and seasoned well. The beef had a slight aftertaste. The ginger beer was okay, too. I’d probably return to try other items.

This place is okay. Ventured out to Roger’s Park because of the rave reviews about the jerk chicken and patties. My bf and I order some patties and a ½ of jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was yucky, nowhere close to the authentic, spicy, scotch-bonnet jerk chicken I have come to love from Jamaica. If you are a true lover of jerk chicken, been to Jamaica and appreciate the authentic flavors and spice of Jamaica, do yourself a favor and skip on their jerk. They put an absurd gravy on it that nowhere resembles anything jerk-like. The patties were decent, enjoyed them. I actually wonder if they even make the patties there. There was a girl in front of me in line arguing with the woman behind the counter because she wanted to buy a dozen patties. The woman rudely said that wasn’t possible without calling ahead. Someone from the back came out and offered to sell her a box of frozen patties. I also think they aren’t made there fresh because the jerk patty tasted nothing like their jerk chicken. The jerk in the patty actually had flavor and spice, unlike the bland chicken we ordered on the side. The sauce was totally different in the patty than the sauce with the ½ chicken. I could be wrong, just going on what I observed. Nonetheless, they were solid patties, frozen or made fresh. I have had better but then again, I have been to Jamaica and have high standards. The people in this joint were so unfriendly, nothing like the many Jamaicans I have met over the years. The employees need some of those new Bob Marley Mellow Mood drinks because they were anything but mellow and pleasant. Overall, the patties were good… Were they worth heading up to sketchville where I was suspiciously eyed walking down the street and treated rudely in the bakery? Definitely not.
