I’ve been going to this salon since June and my hair was in very bad shape at that time. It was breaking, very dry and very uneven. Cori has been my stylist since then and has restored my hair back to its normal health and my hair grew out so fast within 3 months. I get compliments every time I leave the salon and I feel super confident as well. She is great with her appointments, very efficient with time and she keeps me happy always. Thanks Cori!

Had a blow out here and the girl who did it was amazing! This Salon is around the corner from my house so, I wasn’t too sure how it would go but, I was defiantly satisfied. The girl who blew my hair out didn’t even use a flat iron which for me is unheard of as my hair is extremely curly and in the Chicago humidity is impossible to keep straight. Thank you Justin’s I will be back :)

I went to Justin for the first time 2 weeks ago based on Unilocal reviews and my experience was bad. He was friendly, facility nice reason for the one star, everything else I beg to differ. One review said he starts on time, well my appt was at 4, they told me to get there 15mins early!?! Anyway got there at 4, he was starting to flat iron someone’s hair, 40 mins later I’m in the chair, ok-​strike 1.
He wash/​condition/​color rinse in my hair and sat me under the dryer for 10 mins, what the wt&$&@!?! Then he sits me at his station and blow dry my hair-​strike, WT$&&$!?! Finishes and guess what… flat iron more heat. If I didn’t have damage I probably have it now-​strike 2. Now he’s styling my hair from the back. Ok. Now this so called style looks like how I came in without the grease, okay!?! He leaves me and walks in a closet behind the counter. I’m sitting there like is he looking for something for my hair. Then he says from the closet he’s done it’ll be $ 85. REALLY… REALLY!!! Mind you I sat in the chair as he finished his previous person and walked her to the counter, checked her out and pretty much walked her to the door. What the heck happened, first time customers don’t get that. STRIKE 3!!!
So the lady sitting at the counter looking at my hair like wow ask me if I wanted to schedule my next appt. my mind said sugar honey ice tea no, as nicely as I can put it but I said no thank you. I get home and there’s a black line across my forehead and on the side of my face from the rinse. If he was a real stylist he would of checked that. Last thing sorry so long, but he ask to shape my neck I said yes. Those clippers was so dang sharp OMG. REALLY!!! and he didn’t wipe neck down after grazing it. Wow. Second so called beautician/​stylist in Chicago I’ve been too and I’m done!!! I’ll hed back hm everyone month. Just ridiculous, the price and the service, SUCKS… That’s it. Good luck.

I was referred to Justin by a friend who’s hair is always gorgeous. Justin does an outstanding job at everything… natural hair, sew-​ins, cuts (absolute best) and color. He colored my daughter’s hair and people regularly stops her and raves about her color. He does a great job with my hair and I love the way he cuts it. Perfect!!!

She uses DreamCatchers Hair Extensions and after doing extensive research, it’s the best way to go. I had to find something that worked well with asian hair and didn’t make my hair look like I obviously had a weave going on! Other info about the salon: Everyone there is extremely friendly and the salon is very clean and well kept. There’s always music and laughter whenever I’ve gone in. There is ample street parking in the area, but some streets require you to pay the meter and others are free without meters or zone limits. It’s a great addition to the South Loop!

I had a great experience at Justin’s! I’m natural, and wanted a fresh spring cut and color after having braids for about 6 months. I decided to try Justin’s because a friend gave the salon rave reviews. I scheduled my appointment a week in advance, and was easily able to get in Justin’s book. When I arrived the morning of my appointment, I was given a consultation right away, and was on my way to highlight heaven within a half hour. Everyone at the salon was attentive and courteous, explaining the color/​wash/​cut/​style processes to me as my appointment went on. My hair was gorgeous when I left the salon, and remains so, as Justin gave me a fresh, low-​maintenance bob w/​highlights — just what I wanted! Check this salon out!

First about my stylist:
Cori is a true master of her craft and the only one I trust with my follicles. I love the fact that she is an artist and uses your hair as her canvas to create works of beauty that even Matisse and Monet would admire. I give her absolutely no instruction. I simply sit in her chair and allow her to create. Each and every time the results are absolutely amazing and render compliments from the time I leave her chair until I return for my next appointment, usually months later. Specific things that make her one of the most talented people in a smock:
1. Cori is EXTREMELY punctual and attentive. In the 7 years that she has been my stylist, she has NEVER stacked a client on top of my appointments which can last anywhere from 2.5−5 hours depending on my color needs.
2. She has an amazing gift with color. She once told me that she dreams in hair color and it totally shows. The way she combines base/​natural colors with highlights is completely unmatched in this city. My hair is a kaliedescope of colors that compliment one another and my complexion. She also takes the time color your brows to match your hair. My favorite color job from her occurred in October 2012 where she colored my hair to look like the colors of the trees as the leaves began to fall. My head was full of vibrant brown, red, and gold tones that slowly faded (as color does) to honey/​amber tones as winter set in. It was simply gorgeous.
3. She is the ONLY stylist I have met in my entire life who can cut my natural hair PERFECTLY without having blow dry/​flat iron it first. She had me at «hello» with this one.
Now the salon itself:
This is, by far, my most favorite salon where Cori has worked. Justin has an amazing and warm personality, that invites you into this family-​oriented space. You’re greeted at the door by a smiling and hospitable woman, I do believe her name is Verna, who immediately sets the stage for the service to come. Justin, too, is a master of his craft. I’ve only seen him create sew-​in weave extensions and perform sew-​in maintenance, but that man is working pure unadulterated magic with that hair! A few things I love about the space include:
1. Intimate feel — It is a smaller, loft-​style space that is extremely well planned and used. The flow from the chair, to the bowl, to the dryer, back to the chair can happen without roadblocks and twists and turns.
2. Location — It is centrally located in the South Loop and easily accessible from a number of main thoroughfares and expressways. Traffic is forever free-​flowing and metered parking is ALWAYS available.
3. Décor — The décor is simple with clean lines and warm, inviting colors. Browns and blues with silver accents and photos of the amazing Chicago Skyline make for a relaxing trip to the salon.
4. Sanitation — I don’t think I’ve ever walked in and seen a piece of hair sitting on the floor. Even when I get my hair trimmed, by the time I remove my smock and grab my coat to leave, my hair magically disappears from the floor. Each stylist’s station is well organized and aesthetically pleasing. The bathroom is also impeccable.
If you are looking for a salon and stylist who truly takes your hair seriously and has your follicles’ best interests in mind, THIS. IS. THE. PLACE. FOR. YOU!

A+++ I had my hair styled by Justin after receiving a recommendation from a good friend. I feel like I hit the lottery! He is a super talented stylist! Beautiful salon, wonderful ambiance, great conversation, very professional and conveniently located right around the corner from my home (BONUS!!!). I’ve found my new hair home! Kudos to Justin!!!

Cori is the only stylist I trust to color my natural hair in Chicago. It had been almost a year since the last time she colored my hair, so I was excited to book an appointment and get some more color in my life. I went in there not sure of what I wanted, but knowing that I needed something to excite me about my natural curls again. I told Cori that I wanted something to brighten me up, but lower maintenance than what I had previously had. Her suggestion? Heavy highlights sans the overall base color. I was game! Once again she used 2 different Wella colors for highlights, but I did opt for bleach this go-​round. So far I’m loving my hair and it was just what the doctor ordered.
