My son likes to get the lunch special here when we’re in the neighborhood(doctor’s office is nearby). The kabobs are very good, but everything else is so-so. Décor is plain but OK, although I don’t enjoy having a television blasting while I’m eating. It was men’s basketball today. My biggest criticism of this place is the service. I’ve never been here outside of lunch time, and it’s always the same guy serving. He’s very unfriendly and abrupt. He came out once to refill our drinks, and filled the water but didn’t ask if my son wanted another Coke. Likewise, we waited and waited and waited for him to bring our check, but he was nowhere to be found. I don’t know how he could be busy in the kitchen for so long when we were literally the only people in the place. I finally walked to the cash register and another guy rang me up. To sum up, decent food and marginal service. Maybe the service is better at suppertime.

Great gyros. Decent falafels, Tasty meat platters. Flavorful shawarma., Deelish baklava. Fairly quick delivery. I’ve ordered from these folks half-a-dozen times, and always ask for fries to be extra crispy. They’re usually awesome, but most recently they were on the raw side… not sure what has changed. Overall, a quick, decent delivery.

Been going to Kabob2 since they were on devon. I’ve only ever had their dinner entrees… combo special mostly. I’ve loved them all with more than enough food, service is good, they’re family owned location — assyrians maybe. Seems to be empty alot though, hope business is well. Otherwise, I have no complaints, I go several times a year.

I had a superb meal here and most definitely need to come back here for dinner service. The lunch combination special was a huge plate full of tasty kebabs, rice, and shawarma! Yum!

I’ve been eating at Kabob 2 for many years and it’s one of my favorites! The food is made fresh and is very delicious! I definitely recommend this joint, if it’s an option!

We came here with my husband and my daughter. From the minute we walked-in the door they server was very nice. It was a Saturday around 12:30pm, and this place empty, only one table and ours. We ordered our drinks, my daughter and I had hot teas, they were the typical mint teas. We decided to start with an order of hummus, which arrived within minutes. Hummus tasted like I was eating a flavorless paste, it had no flavor, I’ve had a fair amount of hummus, and this tasted like nothing. My daughter ordered the lenteil soup(I think) She shared a little bit and it was tasty, my husband order some lunch special, with rice, meat and a side salad, he said he really liked his meat but the rice was not very good. I ordered the falafel sandwich, the sandwich looked more like a wrap, with lettuce, tomato and falafel, no sauce, no dressing. I decided to take a bite, it tasted like nothing, I tried to put a little of hummus on my second bite, and it tasted the same but with paste on it. The Falafel felt rather cold, which made the sandwich cold. My daughter and my husband took a bite and they both made faces. I did not made an attempt to eat it, so I figured I would eat the fries instead. Fries were flavorless, like they forgot to put salt on them. I was so dissapointed that I could not eat anything else. We used a groupon that my husband purchased so we did not had to pay for my flavorless meal.

This place was so wonderful that I literally got home and realized that I needed to rate it on Unilocal. The food was absolutely amazing and authentic. By far, some of the best Mediterranean food I’ve had in a while. I highly recommend the lentil soup and kefta. In addition, the service is amazing. Our server was very friendly, and even provided us with complimentary baklava(which was also delicious!).

Christopher and I had lunch here today. We both ordered the lunch special, which consisted of a generous salad, and a plate with rice, shawerma, kefta, chicken kabob and beef kabob. It was very good. I am not a big fan of kefta, but everything else was most excellent. We got a chicken shawerma sub sandwich to go for Mom, and some lentil soup. She enjoyed both very much, though the fries were uninspired. The restaurant itself is clean and airy and very inviting. We will be back for sure, especially with such inexpensive and yummy lunch specials.

Great thing about Kabob 2 — it’s walking distance from my house. We ventured out here a few time and were the only ones in the restaurant. The service is very friendly and accomodating. The soups are both vegetarian, which is a plus for someone of my demeanor. I enjoy the vegetarian combo plate, but would like something other than the tabouli salad. This is the most acidic, made out of bottled lemon juice I think I’ve ever encountered. I love the falafel, but the tahini sauce that comes on the side tastes rancid, so I opt to put some yummy baba ganoush or hummus on it instead. I would ike for their rice to be vegetarian, but alas, it is made with chicken stock, so a no go. The dolmas a yummy as well. Clean, friendly, inexpensive, thumbs up for me!!!

Must have caught them on a bad day. Falafel sandwiches were awful, undercooked, gooey old bread– just a bad experience. Hummus appetizer came with no pita bread. My daughter’s kids burger was burnt, reminded me of a hockey puck. On a positive note, the fries were good– but who goes to a middel eastern restaurant for french fries?

Wonderful new establishment on border of Lincolnwood and Chicago. The owner is very friendly and the ambiance/décor is much nicer than most middle eastern restaurants you’ll find out there. The food is great, favorite dishes are the chicken kabob, juicy and bursting with flavor also recommend the shwarma(beef/lamb?) both made well. whether dining in or takeout its worth a try and with the 5.95 lunch special its a win-win

This is a great new addition to Lincoln Avenue right near Lincoln Village. I believe this place was previously located at 3104 W Devon Ave, Chicago. The restaurant looks very streamlined and beautiful. It was very clean and inviting. The food was good. I tried a vegetarian combination appetizer. There was baba ganoush, hummus and tabouie. The hummus was standard but the baba ganoush and tabouie were very good. The salads were ok but the lentil soup was outstanding. I don’t even usually eat soup but I think I would come back here just for the soup. The entrees were very good. The potato chops were interesting– flattened balls made from potato stuffed with seasoned ground beef and spices and then deep fried. The lamb chops were really good– tender, moist and thick. The chicken briani was good too– it was rice mixed with vegetables and chicken. I wish the rice pilaf was a little more buttery though. I liked the cake they had– it was a walnut cake with plenty of nuts and a piece so large I’m finding it hard for me to move now. There was some pudding with rosewater which I might take a pass on. The baklava was good from what I heard but I don’t particularly go for that dessert. The waitress was very friendly and we got a mini lesson on Assyrian culture. The pudding was on the house and we got 15% off our bill too(probably as today was the grand opening at this location).

You know, I’m starting to hate Unilocal.I mean, it’s their purpose to get as many reviews for places to promote businesses and all that junk, but when a solid establishment gets overly Unilocaled, it doesn’t shed the light on deserving places, such as this one. This is my go to when I need a lunch in the area. A nice, solid lunch that’ll fill me up and keep me trucking. Their lunch special is a stomach full at 5.95. I’ve been coming here since late 07, on average 4 times a month. And four times being hungry. And four times leaving the place needing a quick rest due to the food coma. Not gonna beat around the bush, super friendly owner, amazing food and(sadly) plenty of places to sit. Sure it looks ‘run down’ but that atmosphere doesn’t bother me. As long as my food is delicious, I will eat anywhere.

Respectable kabob, tasty yellow rice. My only tiff with the place was it’s appearance. The place was run down, furniture surpassed antique, and I just didn’t feel clean eating here. My roach senses were high above threshold as well.

i was in my old hood and was craving hummus… so my friend and i stopped here! i ordered the shawarma sandwich on french bread(you can also get it on a pita, but they told me that the french bread was more popular.) they even added hummus on the sandwich at no extra charge. the sandwich came with a side of pickled and spicy veggies — which was homemade. this sandwich was phenomenal! my friend and i spent about 10 minutes trying to decide what we wanted and the man who worked there was SO helpful. he didn’t get annoyed that it took us so long to order. also, they were nice enough to not kick us out of the restaurant, even though we stayed wayyy after closing. oh, and free refills! love this place! fyi — this place delivers within the area. try it out the next time you’re craving some hummus!

Sold falafel sandwich. I loved the hummus. They even gave me extra pita for no charge. The décor is nothing to write home about, but for take-out it’s a good middle-eastern choice.

I’m not sure if they took over the old Oasis Café spot in Wabash Jeweller’s Mall or if they are different owners. If they are the same ones, I am very sad to say that Oasis was much better. It was not horrid, but just not as good as before.
