Great food. Crab Rangoons are super tasty. Always fresh food. Huge egg rolls must try.

Sorry to say that since the old owners have not been making the food here since April, this place has gone downhill. Looks like the old owners sold it and new owners took over. I knew immediately as soon as I took that first bite. The crab rangoons and egg rolls were standard and filled with that old grease taste. Old owners had clean oil and the rangoons were outstanding. Not now. Second strike, completely botched my order. I made it clear that I wanted Crispy tofu not soggy tasteless tofu for my wife. Came completely soggy and tasteless:(What else can a guy ask for in how to lose a customer? Anyways, they did not meet my expectations as it is hard enough to find a good Chinese place. But once you taste old oil and tasteless inspiration it doesn’t leave your head desiring more. Can’t give them another try. I would recommend trying somewhere else. Although by all the recent past reviews I seem to be in the minority in how I feel about quality and taste. So maybe try for yourself and see. Good luck all in your quest for the best!

Best Chinese food I’ve had in the area. Fresh good portions. I had Mongolian beef, fried shrimp, egg rolls. Everything was tasty. Price are reasonable. Will be back.

Had the General Chicken and the Ham Egg foo young along with the rolls and I was pleased. I have the food delivered and the actually called me ahead of time and asked me what time I wanted to have my food delivered. It came steaming hot and tasty. Will be ordering there again.

First time, food was very good. Second time, took 45 minutes to get my order. Phoned in the order and they said 15 minutes. When I got there had to wait 30 minutes more. They said they were real busy because it was raining and a lot of people order delivery when that happens. When I finally got home to eat it, one of the pieces of pork was all fat. Pretty disgusting. So I don’t understand all these great Unilocal reviews. I only had decided to try this place based on the positive reviews.

How do you weather snow storms AND stick to a budget? Order yourself some food from King Garden, that’s how! In the latest round, I placed an order for four entrees and mentioned the coupon for free crab rangoon. In the order was an assortment of meat: shrimp egg foo yong, beef hong sue, chicken sweet and sour, and BBQ pork fried rice — hold the scallion for the husband. The two of us ate a little of everything the first night and I packed away the rest. I then proceeded to eat 4 more meals(myself, since the husband turns his nose up at leftovers) over the course of the next three days and it was all delicious! The Rangoon is actually really good cold — like cold pizza. And, if you heat the fried meats in the oven on parchment, they crisp back up and the excess oil goes into the paper. I was so proud of myself that nothing went to waste! And — all of this was like $ 35 with delivery and(decent) tip.

First time there due to previous reviews. Very generous portions. Great value. The food was good, not great. The lauded Orange chicken that was supposed to be spicy had no bite. The ingredients, especially the carrots and broccoli were very fresh but the flavorings were ordinary –could be much better. Very good hot and sour soups, great egg rolls, ok beef and broccoli and orange chicken. We’ll try it again and ask for more heat in the spices

I’ve been seeking a good Chinese restaurant that had an American flare and traveled all the way from downtown to this place. It was great and all the food was pretty awesome(crab Rangoon, special fried rice, chicken wings, and orange chicken). The wings were the best I’ve tasted in Chicago since I’ve moved here, 9 months ago. They remind me of The Village in Miami. The service was good. The only confusing part was that he gave us the fortune cookies as soon as we sat down, which can be a time saver but it can also send customers the wrong message. We will definitely come again!

Have ordered take ordered take out three times and every time come away with the same impression. Best Chinese take out I’ve had since moving to Oak Park 19 years ago. Service is fast, and very well prepared.

Before King Garden Tony owned a location near Garfield ridge(harlem and archer) and sold it to his driver. I was so sad when it sold. When I found out tony owned a place by my parents I knew I had to pay him a visit and he again didn’t disappoint. Ordered spicy orange chicken and Mongolian beef, both very good and again large portion. Food is always very tasty. A must try.

I read the reviews and decided to give this place a try instead of going to my norm, New Star. I ordered the Combination Pad Thai and Crab Rangoon. The crab rangoon were huge. The order of 5 is a meal in itself. They weren’t the best I’ve ever had, but they were tasty. The shrimp and chicken were delicious in the pad thai. The beef was close to inedible, which was extremely disappointing. I usually order beef at Chinese places because I am picky about my chicken. At Kings, I will stick with the chicken and say goodbye to the beef. The noodles and sauce were bland. I ended up adding a lot of soy and hot sauce(I’ve only used soy sauce a handful of times and that was for leftovers) to give them some flavor. Overall the portions were huge and food was okay. I will be back to try other menu items like the orange chicken and egg rolls.

I ordered from here once from my house and had it once at my sister’s house and turned down the offer to stay for dinner the next time she had ordered from here. I just don’t get the hype over it, Yes, the portions are large but what I had was just not good. So who cares if you get a lot when you don’t like it? It’s average chinese food. I ordered lo mein and egg foo young and pot stickers. It was just bland and the pot stickers were kind of think and gummy tasting — maybe they suffered in transport. The lady on the phone cold not get my 3 item order right and I had to repeat it 3 times. I did not ask for any changes to anything special — just right off the menu. Maybe they were busy and I hit them at a bad time. Unless the chinese place by me(which is also just so –so) closes I can’t see ordering from here again.

Good food, quick service and ninety cent can sodas. This place is super budget friendly. I would label it, an Americanized Chinese fast food take out establishment. Yes, there is seating but you are served the take out containers either way. While the rating is 3 stars overall, there are several 4 star aspects — very reasonably priced — large portions — a 2 free egg rolls or 5pc Crab Rangoon Unilocal check in offer — delivery is available Food The food was not a favorite but it was good and on par with most Chinese places of its size and caliber. Shrimp & Broccoli — 3 stars Egg roll — 2 stars Combination Fried rice — 3 stars Generally speaking, I prefer New Star’s Chinese which is down the street but may patronize this establishment from time to time too.

The place is pretty small and low key, the customer service is great and the Portions are huge! There was sooooo much food, I could not finish it! They use real chicken(breast) and everything tastes really fresh the prices are reasonable as well. We had the Family Meal for Two. which include: Sweet and Sour Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Egg Rolls, White Rice, Crab Ragoons, some noodle dish, and Hot and Sour Soup. That meal alone could feed a family of 4 – 5 people easily. The only negative remark that I have is that they served food on Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils, so if you are looking for more of a dine in experience, this is not the place. Definitely great for carry out. The Eggs rolls were not my favorite, but I am also not a huge egg roll fan. Overall I definitely recommend and will be coming back again!

Value! I got a small Mongolian beef, a small combination lo mein, and a free orange chicken(because of the Unilocal deal) all to go. When I got home we were surprised to see huge portions of all our dishes, along with two sides of rice, chopsticks, hot sauce, forks, and two plates. All for $ 13. Are you kidding??? So how was the food? It doesn’t matter. Ok but how was the food? The food was… fine. My wife really liked the orange chicken, it was her favorite dish out of all of them. For me, when I first took a bite I thought it was really good, then the more I ate, the more I felt it was average. The Mongolian beef in particular, tasted like the beef was frozen and then reheated, the lo mein was actually pretty good on its own, and the shrimps were jumbo, so that’s a great addition. When I went to pick up the food, the staff was very friendly and courteous. Another plus. When you look at a take out Chinese place, you’re not looking for fancy, gourmet food. You’re looking for a place that is cheap, quick, has good service, and decent food. We ate for three days, all on $ 13. If that isn’t five star then I don’t know what is.

Love love LOVE their food… if you compare their food to that of other restaurants there’s simply no competition… the taste is wonderful & you can taste the freshness in every bite… i have been a customer at their other restaurants & this new one is just as good… try the orange chicken… you’ll be happy you did… then come back and try some more… you won’t regret it…

I have just found my new home for Chinese food! OMG the food is so good and fresh. I had the Orange Chicken and it was delicious it was like a party in my mouth. No one lied when they said Tony was the best! He was so nice and friendly he talked to me while I waited for my food. He is really down to earth and has great customer service skills. I’m going to try not to overdose on this place. People do yourselves and your taste buds a favor and try this place you won’t regret it.

Ever wonder if it’s ‘meow-meow’ or ‘eek-eek’ that you’re eating? Well look no further! Lol. On a serious note, this place is great! I’ve lived in the area for years and was thrilled when I found this spot. They have fresh veggies, they’re not over loaded with salt or grease. Definitely happy I found them and I hope they get enough business to stick around for years.
