Kings No 2 Gyros gets an extra star just for being open in New Years Day & preventing me from starving in this urban jungle known as Chicago. Their gyros are awesome. The meat flavor cut off the spit and grilled is served with onions, tomatoes & tzatziki sauce on pita bread. They use real meat not the BS packaged garbage that some places try to pass off as gyro meat. They provide a generous amount of meat that is delicious They have very good quick service. I came in ordered and 3 mins later I had my gyro. That being said their gyros are delicious, but the place is not very clean. The tables need to be wiped up occasionally so they lose a star. Dirty tables are kind of a turn off.

I will admit that one good thing about this place are the prices. We tried the bacon cheese burger, bbq ribs, gyro, italian beef, and onion rings but unfortunately we’ve had better elsewhere! Service was ok though!

Been coming here since I was little and now I go with my own family wife and son. My son loves the fries and the soups and my wife and I are hooked on #4 Chicken sandwich. We usually go here after church or just whenever we feel like. Food is made to order, fresh and hot! nice! Owners know us when we walk in and they always have the welcoming environment.

This place is gross! — but I love it! Gyros are hot, moist, and tasty. Cooked to order. I like ‘em well done. Fries are over cooked, and could definately be better. Maybe a change in the oil? Service? — what service? Are you kidding me? — It’s Milwaukee Ave. It’s 2am. What do you want? Some bleach blond kid, in black tie, named«Christian», or «Skip», serving you at your table??! You don’t expect or deserve«service». You get food. And you like it. You’d better, you ungrateful little bastard! They now take plastic. Ask George how he is. Ask how business is. If you want a favourable answer, then come more often you bloody little twerp!

The gyros isn’t all bad but the customer service really is pretty abysmal which is why I stopped going. The main guy on the register usually there once gave me a nickel instead of the 4 cents change I was due and made a racist comment casually saying«I’m Greek not Jewish». I’ve had to remind him more than once to give me the milkshake or soft drink I ordered/paid for. Besides him the place isn’t all bad if you’re out late and hungry.

This 1 star is for the service and not the food. I have been going here for many years, over 30 years. Recently the service has gone downhill. 4 out of the last 5 times I ordered to go the order was wrong! I called them to let them know and they acted like it was my fault. The last time they forgot the sweet basil sauce so I went to pick it up, when I got back home to my cold gyro much to my surprise it was plain, I never order a plain gyro., I wasn’t going back again! I called them and all he could say is they were busy and sorry and he would«take care of me next time». That doesn’t cut it. I reminded him next time I went there and he said he didn’t remember.

The food was ok, but the owner George was absolutely disgusting. He was very rude to my coworkers and I. He lied to us and told us that the restaurant was closing just so that we could leave early. Just as we were leaving the restaurant we noticed that more customers walked in after U.S. and were immediately served and able to dine in. This type is treatment is unacceptable therefore I will never be going there again and neither should you.

Wasn’t too happy the last couple of times I got the kabob dinner, Not much meat. The chicken was way better then the steak. Steak was very hard and not much flavor.

AWESOMEITALIANBEEF!!! I stopped here on a late night detour and picked up an «extra good» Italian beef dipped w/extra hot peppers, some hand cut fries and a side of the super tasty onion rings(i think they’re beer battered) and all I can say is I literally wanted to go back for more when I was done… like I already had my shoes on to go back when I realized they would probably think I was crazy so I left it for another day instead lol. The price was very decent considering the size in portions that they serve and the entire staff was very polite and tastefully chatty, like not your typical«how’s the weather» kind of chatty. All in all an «extra good» experience with these guys and I WILLCOMEBACKFORMORE! I might just pick up two beefs this time haha thanks guys you really helped hit the spot ;-)

This place is getting 1 star due to the customer service. I came into the restaurant very late at night with a friend. The place had a couple hours to go before closing. My friend went to the bathroom before ordering, and nobody behind the counter offered to take my order, they just stared at me. When the order was finally ready to be placed, my friend asked if they had grape soda, and what kind it was. The guy said it’s like Kool-Aid. Kool-Aid? Why did he have to say Kool-Aid out of all things? Hmm… we didn’t like that, and I didn’t like the vibe that seemed to be coming our way from the employees. I’m not going to say what I think was going on, but the vibe was not friendly at all… Kool-Aid indeed! One guy in particular stared the entire time we were in there, even while we were eating. It was very uncomfortable, it felt like they didn’t want us in there. The one guy even asked if we wanted our order to go when we were placing it.

Jumpin’ junipers! Their food has been updated and to my surprise, they make hand cut fries now! The food however is still, merely, decent. Although, tastier and far more presentable than in 2006 when I would hit Kings on a more often basis. It would seem they have adopted some new ways to food preparation. But looking at the basics like cleanliness of the surrounding area or food display bins, it’s not too appetizing. Regarding the storage bins; specifically the pizza spinners and the baklava whether inside or outside of them, they didn’t look all too appealing. The pizza looked tired and weathered like an old beaten rug and the baklava, well, lets just say they need to be prepared by someone caring. I’ve been eating around at other char-type, Greek, fast-food-grills wondering when they might update their archaic ways and get with the trend of offering hand-cut fries.(A quick and easy method to offering a finer, more excellent french fry. People, we’re talking about real potatoes versus frozen tundra, God-only-knows-how-long-this-crap-had-been-in-the-freezer) I was thrilled to learn that of ALL places, Kings is on top of it. Good job. It was kind of a late night and I really wanted tacos or burritos but my local go-to was closed. I was the last customer to enter Kings and based on recent reviews and photos, I decided to just go for it. Their employees looked like zombies, I think it was the end of their shift and everyone was working on leaving, but they took my order and filled it pretty, damn, quickly. Gyros, jumbo hot dog and an order of large fries. The fries were pretty good as they were piping hot. A couple burps into the gyros and I had already had, a decent fill. Decent though nothing special but it got my dinner hunger satiated. For that order I paid somewhere around $ 12 dollars and some change with tax. Not a bad haul for the money spent. Food was served quick but that good ol’ greeting they once offered was lacking. No personality, no smile, just food.

Dear King Gyros, Will you marry me? Love, Me Gee, I hope he says yes! This place is a great spot for some deep fried awesomeness. The quality of the burgers are way above what you’d think they would be judging by the look of the place. Fries, why fresh cut of course! Be sure to get a side of cheese for those fries. My hubby always gets the Chicken Pita and swears by it. And the shakes! Oh, the shakes! If you ask him how they make them, he’ll tell you«the right way». And really, that’s all the needs to be said, isn’t it?

Large selection of food. Very tasty. Great because it’s 24⁄7 and there’s something for everyone. The DO take credit/debit cards.

They are not cash only anymore!!! They are accepting all major credit cards and American Express. Their food is excellent especially the new dishes like the gyros quesadilla and the breakfast wraps amazing. The place is unique that it’s not remodeled but they keep it clean. Also need to try homemade Onion Rings they are the best I’ve had, I like it with the homemade sweet basil sauce. Great place!!!

Eh… I’ve had better. Not to entirely knock their food, but seriously… I’ve had better fast food in my life(and I’m not talking McDonald’s). I once ordered a gyros plate from Kings and it definitely was not up to par with the flavors. Almost felt as if I had to throw up afterwards. Not cool man. The upside of things… well their service is pretty good and their french fries are pretty spot on. Deep fried, skin on, golden brown strings of potato deliciousness. As like my other reviews, don’t take my word for it – go try it out for yourselves.

Very sad day. They got a new cook and he sucks. Double downer when a to go order is wrong and you get home hungry –and then hungry and pissed. I just ordered the same«Greek burger» and fries that I order at least once a week only this time it was wretched. My first indicator was the first fry from the bag. Gone is the crunchy outer coating and soft scalding inside. It was replaced with a floppy fry. A non crunchy fry that didn’t belong. My suspicions were confirmed when I took my first bite. My normally mouthwatering feta/oregano beefy goodness was not there. I was sent home with a dry charred piece of brown that had been sprinkled with oregano, made soggy by tomatoes that didn’t belong and soft wet lettuce. How do you call this Greek? I called back and after a muffled phone receiver covered conversation with the new cook — I was told to come in and pick up a «side of feta» for my burger. That offer is beyond insulting considering I(embarrassingly) eat here 2 – 3 times a week. George — I hope you read this because I shouldn’t have to remind you how often I enter your establishment. You were really rude on the phone and I’m mad at you.

I lived in this area for a very long time and I never tried this place. I even suggested this place to my cousin when she was visiting from out of town before trying it. Finally, last week… I did because I was in the area and was craving a gyro! I don’t know where to get a late night gyro out in the burbs and my friend suggested this place… they’re open till like 4am. The gyro plate was awesome… and so filling!!! The fries that came with it were great as well! While we were waiting for our food a guy in there showed us what he ordered… saying the best deal for about 5 bucks — he had fried chicken wings or friend shrimp or something with fries and bread. If you’re craving a gyro at any time of the day or wee morning hours, this is your place!
