I tried Krispy Krunchy on a random whim and I’m so glad I did!!! I was craving fried chicken but I was also watching over my sick dog and didn’t want to leave his side. So I searched Unilocal and decided to give this place a try. Nothing about ordering chicken from a gas station sounds appealing to me, but the reviews seemed fairly consistent. The fries and the chicken were indeed the freshest and crunchiest I’ve ever had, without being dried out or lacking flavor. I’m going to say better than Popeyes. They also deliver 2 liters of soda, which was exactly what I needed for my fridge as well. Oh, and the honey biscuits. Lord! Seriously, you got a craving for friend chicken and are sick of the chain-standards, give this a try! You won’t regret it and you’ll definitely go back for more.

A cheaper PopEyes. Chicken is ok but i really liked their red beans & rice and fried okra. Im not a fan of a sweet biscuit and chicken. But the biscuits are good just a little sweet. Use EAT24 to save $ 2 and buy some Dos Equis

I’ve order from here three times now, and while the chicken is great even when delivered they have failed to deliver my full order two of the three times I’ve ordered from them. Both times when I called to complain they first refused to deliver the rest of my order and and then after arguing with the person on the phone I was finally able to get them to refund the undelivered items. Overall the food is good but the abhorrent service makes it not worth it.

The chicken is very, very good — at least what I had, which was a thigh. My husband rated the white meat pieces he had as merely«very good.» I also liked the biscuits so much that I ate three of them. We also ordered Jambalaya and red beans and rice — we got two containers that seemed to contain identical stuff(we guessed it was red beans and rice) — which means either that the Jambalaya and the red beans and rice are identical, or that someone filling the order goofed. Whatever it was, it was the least tasty of the things we had. The boudin balls were also good, if a bit heavy(but it’s a little fried ball of rice and pork sausage, so that’s to be expected). And I MUST mention the fried corn on the cob — taking the concept of frying everything you can lay your hands on to a whole new level. It’s a third of a cob, battered and fried to the same crispy kruchiness as the chicken. Delicious! Delivery was 30 minutes late, but we were ordering on a Friday evening, and this is a place that operates out of a gas station, if I recall correctly, so we cut them some slack on that point. The food was still fairly hot, so it didn’t matter. This place has won a spot on our«what shall we order tonight?» list, for sure.

Up North, there are not too many gas stations that serve notable fried chicken, but in the South, they’re a dime a dozen(especially in Central Virginia and TX). I’ve stopped at KKC a few times, but when I did, the warming trays had only a few lonely wings next to some tired looking legs and some breasts that were… never mind. I walked out as fast as I walked in. But today, I was driving down Peterson, and it was 12:15PM. I figured they must have hauled a load out of the deep fryer fairly recently because it was lunch time. Bingo. They were putting freshly fried pieces into the the counter. I ordered a wing, thigh, leg & breast(just to make sure I could make a decent assessment). Even fresh out of the fryer, all the pieces I ordered were on the dry side. Now I love me some hot sauce on fried chicken, but I want to sprinkle it on the chicken before I eat it. Krispy Krunchy douses their chicken in hot sauce, coats it with the batter, then deep fries it. The vinegar in the hot sauce might be what drys the meat out. The Unilocalers that commented on how crispy the chicken was were 100% correct. It’s crispy as all get out, but it’s not juicy. I’m glad I tried this place, but not sure I will be running back.

The chicken was decent. A bit pricey for what you get but not more expensive kfc or pop eyes. However, the biscuits weren’t that great and there deals where mediocre.

And I wanted to update that the chicken wings were fantastic too! But beware that on large orders you should check your bag to make sure they fulfilled your order correctly. One time they shorted me on one order of 8pc dark meat(cheated me out of 6.99) and another time gave me white meat which were super dry. I probably should dock them for more stars for such incompetent service, but the fried dark meat, fried chicken wings, and honey biscuits are so delicious!

The food is great, the service is fast. Too bad it is in a gas station. Definitely carry out, but you’ll be happy.

So… after a second Saturday at the podiatrist(they likely think I injured myself just to come back), I ask hubby what’s on the menu. Strangely he says«fried chicken». I’m like ok, where are we going to get fried chicken that I can tolerate and he won’t complain about, in the end. Well, well, well, the Unilocalers were right… the gas station chicken ain’t half bad! After driving 2.6 miles home and a pharmacy pick up, the chicken was still krispy… that alone was impressive. If your close and need your fried chicken fix, this spot will definitely fit the bill. SN: they sell gyros, fish, beefs and other chi-town fast food… might be back for the 7″ gyro pizza soon!

Josh loves this place and so do I. It’s a good thing I don’t live nearby or my family would need to call Richard Simmons for an intervention.

Fried chicken and honey butter biscuits! The best! I didn’t try anything else but the chicken and biscuits are enough to earn this place 5 stars!

Located inside of a gas station with a cell phone store next door — talk about one-stop shopping. Came here late on Saturday night and they were almost out of chicken when we arrived so I ordered the 4-piece dark combo with extra honey butter biscuits. I was told they were out of legs«will 4 thighs be okay?» I was like«hell yeah 4 thighs will be great!» Got home and the chicken was still warm and definitely still krispy and krunchy. The meat was very tender and juicy on the inside. Some fine fried chicken found inside of a gas station. The best fried chicken I have ever eaten was from inside a convenient store in New Orleans. — Brothers I believe was the name — so I am never opposed to gas station fried chicken joints. This was some damn good fried chicken — not the best I’ve ever had(Brother’s in New Orleans is the best) but it is up there. I will be back to try their jambalaya and red beans n rice(a good sign of a good fried chicken joint — they have southern cuisine on the menu) and will arrive earlier.

Great chicken. Horrible service when they send you the completely wrong order. I’m trying my best to not go over there and throw this hot bag of WRONGORDER in the face of who ever I just talked to who also hung up on me and wouldn’t pick up when I called back… SERIOUSLY? Get it together before your gas station spot gets renovated all of a sudden. He tried to offer me a credit and lied about the delivery status. He tried to say there’s seven deliveries in the drivers car and will take 2 – 3 hours for his return when he JUSTTOLDME «this is my only delivery, call them and I’ll come right back.» Looks like they just threw a bunch of chicken in a bag and lateral tossed it to the driver like«hurry up, kid.» I really don’t want to stop ordering from here but I have no problem boycotting the hell out of a bum business. Think I’m playing. C’mon son!

More like 3.5 but the chicken was worth 5 stars alone. I cannot believe I’m typing this but the best fired chicken I’ve had in Chicago is served inside of a damn gas station. To. Die. For. I don’t know what they put in their chicken but it’s amazing, so tender and juicy. I just couldn’t believe it. Chicago, the food mecca. Gas station chicken. It just works. They also have random food like gyros and hotdogs. So whhhhy 4 stars for the best chicken? Their mashed potatoes were just awful and the gravy was worse. Don’t order it, you’re welcome. I’m pretty sure most of the«potatoes» consisted of that powdered crap and they use a flavorless turkey gravy. The jambalaya, red beans & rice along with the deep fried corn were really tasty. Deep fried corn is very county fair like and the biscuits are pretty small. With regard to parking, I don’t know why anyone would park two blocks away in front of the cemetery when you can literally pull to the front door. In any event, this place is hella cheap and you really should try it. They even deliver!

Krispy Krunchy Chicken is inside of a Citgo Gas Station. It does not have parking unless you count the space along the fence leading up to their car wash. I found street parking two blocks away in the residential neighborhood surrounding it on three sides. The fourth side(and front of the gas station) faces a cemetery. The interior of the Citgo is divided into two sections. Most of it is a typical gas station convenience store. The rest of it is Krispy Krunchy Chicken. The KKC part is decorated with loud wallpaper and a flat screen television, all blasting you with their own advertisements. There are two small tables each with a pair of chairs. Although the counter is crowded with a warming display case with radiant fried foods, the cashier informed us that our orders would be made fresh and would take 20 minutes. I got the 8 piece chicken(dark), three biscuits, and two stuffed peppers(jalapeño poppers) for $ 10.77. We stood outside for about half of our wait during which time I think the gas fumes got to me. I felt nauseous and nearly lost my appetite. Daniel C was much more acuminous and found a nearby park for us to sit and eat, free of gas station ambiance. We both enjoyed our food. True to it’s name, the chicken was crunchy! In fact, I think that everything we ordered was crunchy including(and most surprisingly) the biscuits. The biscuits were exceptional. The outside had a delicious crust and the inside was nice and soft and exploded with piquant honey butter. Besides that, the rest of the food was ordinary. The agreeable crispy texture aside, the remaining characteristics were comparable to any other fast food chicken place.

Yvonne B and I met up for dinner. For some reason I completely overlooked the fact that we would be dining at a gas station. We each ordered at the counter and paid. They do take credit cards. I wanted to try a few of the sides but I ended up just getting fries and a fried corn on the cob. It should be said that it’s a 3rd of a corn on the cob not the whole thing. it was ok and Yvonne asked if i would get it again and I had to admit I probably would. I got the 3 piece dark and 2 biscuits as well. The chicken was amazing and the biscuits were definitely the best thing overall. If I went again I would try the red beans and rice and get probably a total of 3 biscuits. They are small but delicious. Another item of note is the atmosphere. It definitely leaves something to be desired for a dinner date so walk(or drive) a few blocks north and there’s a park with tables perfect for enjoying your Krispy Krunchy chicken!

So, I woke up today thinking about Chicken. And, not just any old chicken but the best fried Chicken I have found yet, Krispy Krunchy Chicken! So, I must admit that my new job has pretty much exhausted me and I absolutely did not feel like traveling out in this heat today for this Chicken. So, I checked into it and saw that I could order online and they even would deliver to me, and boy, was I liking this! I called the folks at Krispy Krunchy and found out that they deliver up to a 3 mile radius and I was so happy cause I’m like 2 and a half miles away. Now, my first experience at Krispy Krunchy was a great one, this chicken was prepared perfectly, and it had been prepared right before my eyes so I knew how fresh it would be. Well, today my chicken and honey butter biscuits arrived at my door in about 45 minutes and once again I was beyond impressed, my chicken was fresh and juicy with just the perfect amount of spice/flavor. And the biscuits. My God, those things should be inducted into the Biscuit Hall of Fame because they were tasting of honey and butter and were so light and fluffy… So, this will definitely be my go to place if I ever get a craving for fried chicken again. because I love Krispy Krunchy Fried Chicken, I truly do! And, I don’t even care that they are attached to a Citgo Gas Station because the people who make this chicken deserve the biggest of props. And, they are getting them from me. So, looks as though I’ll be passing on Cheep Chicken Monday at work tomorrow because when you’ve found the best no reason to look anywhere else…
