The reviews are correct, my fruit cup had mold and service was very slow. They did take the cup off my bill. Coffee was hot and tasty however!

One star for acceptable coffee and another for free wifi … but that’s it. Food I didn’t try as it’s the usual pre-cooked stuff that gets warmed for serving. Staff, all four, were rude and dismissive to me and other customers. Would not come back here and would not recommend.

I will say this. I expected that this brand of coffee and the chain itself would be sub par to other chains like starbucks. Im happy to say that i was virulently proven wrong as i received my paninni and latte. The coffee was incredible, far beyond the dry repetition of Starbucks and the paninni although large in size and quantity, was superb. All the other whiners and poo poo ers need to cram something else in thier mouths because the coffee was excellent.

Coffee was lukewarm. I ordered coffees to drink in the caffe and they made them to go, so they sat out and got cold. They seemed busy so whatever. Not worth it.

Being lactose and gluten intolerant is so difficult at any coffee bar. I can’t even go to Starbucks for a café latte. But I found this little gem while staying at The Drake Hotel. They have almond milk and made me the most delicious latte! This morning while I enjoyed another large latte my husband had a super delicious almond croissant. Made my day!

Great location if you’re staying at the Drake, but hard to find UNLESS you’re staying at the Drake. All in all, rudeness beyond belief! Don’t order a smoothie unless you don’t mind one that’s been sitting in the glass case for who knows how long. And being yogurt-based, that’s not a good thing. After experiencing that before, the next time I asked for the smoothie to be made fresh, and the guy threw a fit! Practically a temper tantrum. Totally unprofessional. Then one time I asked for an espresso drink that was advertised in a big poster in the window and they acted like they didn’t want to make it, then proceeded to talk me out of wanting it! The other times I’ve been in there were nothing special. But the incidents involving the smoothies were enough to make me boycott this place. So much so that during our last stay at the Drake I didn’t use my «free breakfast» coupons which were redeemable there.

The coffee is ok, food is terrible — Quiche was just disgusting. Staff was ok. Hours on Unilocal are wrong — they close at 4pm.

Not only did they not have half of the food on the menu I felt as if we were inconveniencing the staff by ordering food. It also took almost 25 min to reheat a sandwich because one of the staff members had to run out to get gloves(you would think the other employee could have made our order) We asked that they throw in a cup of soup for all of the trouble and they said NO. Poor service for a coffee shop in the DRAKE hotel.

This place exists only because it’s on the way from Michigan Avenue to the Drake Hotel and the Lavazza brand is popular with Europeans. Other than that, this place may seem a mess. Understaffed, pricey and the ready-brew was a horribly bitter dark roast. The pastries, which you’d expect to be beautiful and eye catching at a boutique coffee shop like this were outright paltry in offering and my scone tasted bland. Blueberry scones and little poppyseed muffins were all they had. It’s a pity this is the only coffee shop near this area of Michigan Avenue. And while I’m lamenting my $ 8 coffee and stale scone, what’s with closing at 4pm – on a busy Saturday afternoon?

Warning if you have some place to go DONOT go here. I stood in line for 20 minutes with the line not moving. And there was only 4 people ahead of me. There were two workers behind the counter. One stood there doing nothing and the other had no clue what to do. I’ve been to this location many times it is slower than most coffee places but they do have good coffee and breakfast. Only reason I gave it two stars. If there is a line when you walk in you should just walk out.

Rude staff. No decaf, insisted on making a decaf Americano and charged for it instead of a decaf price. If they don’t want to bother making a decaf then don’t charge Americano price for the substitution. Expensive drinks. Did I mention rude staff. Very disappointing experience, long waits, no smiles.

This should be a stop for everyone, not just folks staying at the Drake. Friendly staff, great coffee drinks, and delicious pastries. Some breakfast options too.

My experience here was great! A funky spot in a gorgeous area. Good vibes and great coffee — couldn’t get much better than that! I stayed at the Knickerbocker across the street during my visit to Chicago and met a friend there one morning after checking out. Loved it so much I brought my family back a couple hours later for a second helping! Vanilla latte & black coffee were both tasty. The young man helping us was very friendly and attentive. We had a couple slices of their banana mocha bread which was to die for! Eat it! The shop is CLEAN — I don’t understand the reviews stating otherwise lol. Sexy modern photographs on the walls are a plus too!

Nice set-up, but pretty commercial. I ordered an iced soy chai latte. I was disappointed when I saw the barista open the refrigerator exposing the liquid chai mix from Trader Joe’s! Next time, I’ll just go there instead and buy a box. I will try a café au lait and if that isn’t good this place is toast.

It is in a same building with drake hotel. Sort of a hidden location in the Magnificent mile next to channel. Easy location but capuccino was so so… like other reviews nothing special. I will still go for coffee once in a while. They have smoothies, panini, good breakfast menu as casual take out or sit down.

Definitely over priced, but not unexpected seeing as it is located in The Drake. Nice set up with plenty to choose from, decent coffee and what i THOUGHT was nice customer service. Apparently they are accustomed to getting tipped or something because i didn’t leave one and then checked my bank statement the next day to find they added their own as i had the receipt in my hand which certainly did not match the paid amount on my statement. Normally i would say to try it yourself and Unilocal it, but i hope you all stay far away from these… SCAMARTISTS!

This place is just fine. Nothing special but certainly adequate if you are looking for a coffee drink. They also have some fancy sodas, sparkling waters, tea and gelato. Service here was super friendly. I didn’t see a specific drink I wanted so I just told the barrista that«a coffee drink with a hint of chocolate but keep it light» and he got it right. I did notice that there were multiple tables in here that weren’t bussed so that was kind of unappealing. I just wasn’t in the mood to look at someone’s half eaten muffin and sloshed coffee on a table.

This coffee house was at the ground level of The Drake Hotel. AWESOME spread of danishes and muffins including fresh fruit and yogurt as options. The staff is highly professional and courteous. Free Wi-Fi. Cozy environment with interesting pics and art on the wall. Careful with the revolving door as the areas right by the door don’t feel the wind you feel the WIND with the Chicago air coming in… Happy we got to try this place. Plus, it’s also located at the top of the John Hancock Observatory. :)

It’s a coffee shop. It’s adjacent to the Drake hotel. And it’s usually easy to grab a seat and a cup of tea and wile away some time in a colorful environment with pretty comfortable chairs. The challenge to me is always the help. It seems that every time I go and order a large tea for«here», there begins a debate as to what kind of cup I should get. Usually I get a huge cup that is only filled half way by the time I pour my tiny pot of water and tea in the cup. The positive? They do have a pretty wide selection of tea. And trust me. .. .it’s the best $ 2.05 you can spend if you are looking for a warm drink in the area!
