I happen to be in town to catch a Bosnia World Cup match and visited this fun spot. The beer was reasonable with a bucket of 6 beers for $ 20… I also had the cevapcici which was god so delicious. VERY reasonably priced for some great food and fun. Only thing that sucked was that they don’t take anything but cash although that did keep me from buying one of everything and drinking too much. If you are nearby or in the mood for something different, you want to give them a shot.

The only reason that I’m giving it 3 out of 5 is because of past experiences there. If I were to base it off my experience tonight it would be 1 star and lucky for that. Where do I start. I understand the food, I understand the region. But the food, the service and the price was definitely not expected tonight. I take a friend in who wanted to try the food from the region. But first I order a bottle of wine. The choices? Cabernet, Malbec and Merlot. I ask for a menu, that’s what it says. I’m pretty fond of Malbecs so we order a bottle. Much to my dismay it was served COLD. Now the menu says $ 6 glass. Not much, but remember this later. Next we order food. We order the cold cut plate as an appetizer and two mixed meat plates for dinner. Fast forward way longer than it should take for some cold cuts to come out. Out comes the cold cut plate and one mixed plate. I ask where is the second? Oh I thought that was all you wanted. No problem, we can share it, can you get another mixed plate ready? No! The kitchen is closed at 7:00 pm. Fast forward to the bill. The wine was an $ 11 bottle. How do I know, Iooked it up and saved it in my wine app to make sure I never buy it again. The charge on the bill? $ 40, last time I checked at $ 6 glass, 4 glasses per bottle that’s only $ 24. Take into account music that was way too loud for 7:00 pm on a Tuesday and my opinion of the establishment has changed. I have taken both clients and friends there before. I’ve also recommended it to people after my first time there I was so impressed. That has changed. Back to Beograd Café I go for my Balkan fix.

I had driven from downtown going north on lincoln and lo & behold. What do I see? Troves of pretty women standing by this newly opened café… So I got curious to find out, what is this place? I parked and found out its a bosnian place. I was very surprised… I am not muslim and I know bosnia consists of 3 different types of ethnic groups(serbs, croats and muslims) however the muslims hold the countries namesake. I was surprised the muslim women were wearing mini skirts and no head scarfs. how nice… The place was festive, friendly, and people outgoing. The women were pretty and the music great. They have many different kinds of drinks.
