Ordered from GrubHub and really enjoyed my meal. I got a broccoli and tofu dinner box and actually found the tofu to be some of the best I’ve had recently. I also got egg drop soup which was also good.

Well, I wish I could write a raving review. I used to love this place. We’ve been ordering from this place regularly, maybe every other week for at least a year. I actually think their food can be pretty good, depending on what you order. Their spicy fried rice is good, the egg rolls are good, and when they get your order right, the Mongolian chicken is tasty. However, on our last 5 orders, they’ve messed up 3 of them, sending me the wrong dish. Twice, they sent me Mongolian beef instead of chicken, which while annoying, was not horrible. Tonight, they sent me something completely different, not sure what it was, maybe orange chicken? Something breaded and fried and in a gloppy sauce. I would never eat that. So I called them up, wanting them to deliver the correct dish, only to be told«sorry, we’re closing — call GrubHub for a credit. «Essentially… you’re on your own and we don’t care. The lack of caring about me the customer was shocking, given our history with them. So here it is, 9:20 pm, too late to order from somewhere else, and I’m kind of screwed on dinner. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from there again. Chances are too high that I won’t get what I ordered. Customer service can be a deal breaker, even when the food is(usually) good.

Worst food ever, you only can taste the old reheated oil, I just hope I am not going to get sick.

Amazing food and speedy delivery only took 30 minutes to get to my house. Will definitely be a new go to place for Chinese food !

Orange Chicken and Fried Rice is A1 every time. For $ 7 they’ll give you enough food to feed four!

DONOTORDER! I ordered New China 2’s Chow Fun Noodles and a Mango smoothie for delivery. First of all it took 2 hours for the food to be delivered even though I live in the neighborhood. It was fine going down. However, soon after eating I threw up 3 times and no matter what I did I couldn’t stop. I eventually stopped after I could only throw up water. I’m feeling a little better a day later, but I can hardly keep anything down. I highly recommend NOT trying their food.

This is by far the worst lunch I have ever had in Chicago. I ordered something off the menu and asked for it with a different sauce. The order came the way I did not want it sent it back. I watched them literally wash the chicken with water and then dump a new sauce over it. It took a total of 30 seconds to make a new order??? This place is a joke and will get you sick. Eat at your own risk.

This place is so good, and so cheap. I’ve ordered from here twice, and I’ve gotten crab rangoons, puerto rican fried rice, and bubble tea. All have been amazing… especially the bubble tea. Soooooo good. The fried rice is great, and the crab rangoons are probably the best I’ve had in the city so far. Not too gooey, but not too crunchy either. It’s also probably the fastest delivery I’ve had, always under 40 minutes. And the best part — they’re on grubhub, so I can order right from my phone.

Cheap, large portions, tasty food. The crab rangoon does have more onions than normal but I like onions so I personally don’t mind. And very fast delivery! Here in under ½ hour and freshly made. Ordered from here twice in the last week.

Found this place on Seamless and wasn’t sure what to expect, but it honestly has been some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. The prices are amazing and the taste, temperature and look of the food you get is excellent. They had the food ready when they said they would, the staff was extremely friendly, I suggest anyone in the Irving Park, Avondale, Roscoe Village neighborhoods to check this place out!

I don’t normally do bad reviews but this place totally dropped the ball! I ordered lo mein and it had this super wack, slimy, weirdly sweet sauce on it. Totally inedible. Also, the delivery was really late… thankfully grub hub gave me $ 5 credit for the wait, so I only wasted $ 20 instead of $ 25. Basically I threw a bunch of money down the toilet and I’m still hungry. I would have been happier eating my couch cushion.

Waste of $ 30!!! I ordered 2 entrees and a side for dinner at 630 and it didn’t come till 750pm. Having to wait an hour and half made me hopeful that this better be good. I was surprised at the size of their dinner boxes, I mean they are Huge for $ 9, so big you have to carry with two hands bc the weight of the food was breaking the Styrofoam. Other then the size to price ratio everything else was gross! I’m serious. …the eggroll had a funky taste in it and the orange chicken didn’t have much flavor, the chicken was a grey color in the side and just mushy. The crab ragoon were okay, it was the only thing I eat. We now have to huge boxes of food in our garbage and had to cook dinner bc this was so gross.

New China 2 is a pretty mediocre Chinese restaurant. I actually think I’m being somewhat generous. I generally try to keep my reviews very even keel but this place will receive a pretty harsh review. We ordered lo mein with pork, general tso chicken, and fried chicken wings. With the chicken we also received some fried rice. The fried rice, I think, was reheated and tasted vaguely of freezer burn. The lo mein had a hoisin-like sauce on it. It made the noodles little slimy and way too strong of a flavor. The chicken wings were bad; they were heavily fried and so crunchy that it was just hard to eat. I just can’t really recommend this place. I’ve had some really great Chinese food in Chicago but this place just doesn’t meet the standard.

Never post reviews, but our experience with this place was horrible. Did not want to sound like a typical angry reviewer, but my husband and I could not let this go without notice of caution to other consumers. Here are the facts. Ordered at 8:11, estimated time of arrival was 9:12. GrubHub indicated the order was out for delivery at 8:52(great!) and we did not receive it until close to 9:40(what?!). That’s food and smoothies in the car for over 40 minutes! That may have arrived even later if we did not call twice about the delay and concerns that our food will be cold and smoothies would melt after being in the delivery car for that long. When the food arrived, all of our suspicions above were true. We called asking for a refund and advised they can pick up the food because it was not acceptable. We were promised a refund. The driver was back at our door within a few minutes. He asked what was wrong with the food in a confrontational tone. We let him know that the food was cold, smoothies melted and spilled in the bag. When we asked about the refund, he told us to take it up with the restaurant. Interestingly, he was affiliated with the restaurant when confronting us about the order upon pick up and not when it came to the refund. We called the restaurant to confirm the refund after the driver picked up the food. They did not answer our calls. We had to contact GrubHub to dispute the charges and they confirmed that the restaurant did not initiate any refund. Thankfully, GrubHub was willing to process the refund. We have never experienced such terrible customer service and quality from a delivery. The way this was handled by the restaurant was very disingenuous and unprofessional. With the amount of competition out there, this deserves no stars. Beware.

Just ordered delivery for first time. Service was prompt. They came well before the hour it told me. Food was ok, about what you expect from a Chinese delivery but nothing that blows you away. Two stars because my beef and broccoli had a staple in it. Literally. Good thing I noticed it on my plate before eating it.

I don’t usually post reviews, good or bad, but our experience was pretty terrible. We order two meals and a soup for delivery at around 7pm and it didn’t get delivered until 10. One order was wrong and the chicken in the other meal had a jello texture. The soup didn’t have much flavor either. I don’t recommend ordering from here.

Cheap + Pretty darned good. We got some of their wings, Spicy Thai Basil Beef, and Empress chicken. I put them in order of deliciousness. The wings were very unique. I don’t know what they coat them with before they throw them in the fryer, but the coating is incredibly crunchy, so much so that I reheated them(in the microwave no less) and they were still pretty crunchy… wings generally get all grossy mushy in microwave. The sauce on the wings was very sweet/sticky and tasted very much like traditional Chinese BBQ flavors. The Spicy Thai Basil was a good dish, but I honestly didn’t taste that much basil flavor… I dunno what I was expecting though ordering«Thai» from a tiny Chinese takeout place. Nonetheless, it was tasty. The Empress Chicken was the most«meh» of the dishes. The chicken was breaded pretty thickly and of course the breading got mushy because of the sauce. I will say all of the sauces were pretty sweet, so if you’re not into that, maybe order something else? All in all, a good value for quick Pan-Asian takeout.

It’s no Tasty House, but it’s a step up from the previous owner. Menu a bit limited, but haven’t had a bad meal yet. Especially enjoy the new style Mongolian chicken. Even my four year old loves this place!

New China 2 Mandarin Restaurant is located in a busy strip mall across the street from Lane Tech, and since I was visiting Chase next door I thought I would give them a try and honestly, I have been craving Chinese Food for quite a while now. This is a pretty small place, there are about 6 small tables inside for those who choose to dine in, but basically I think it’s more a take out operation. So, I ordered Beef fried Rice, An order of Cantonese Fried Shrimp, Egg Rolls, and a Banana Smoothie. The very sweet young woman working behind the counter brought me my banana smoothie and yes, I liked this a lot because I love bananas and the additional tapioca was pretty tasty. The Beef Fried Rice was very good, however, the egg rolls tasted really bland even with the sweet and sour sauce added on. And, I will admit that I love shrimp, but, my major complaint with fried shrimp is that sometimes there is so much breading, this was definitely the case today, and these were really bland too. Now, the plusses are these. The food portion sizes are pretty big, They have daily lunch specials until 4pm daily, Their menu prices are more than reasonable, actually I found them to be less expensive than other restaurants. So, there are some good things going on in here. I’ll just say that I wanted to love this place, the best I can do is like it. And, I liked the my fortune inside my fortune cookie, it read. You stand in your own light, make it shine! Normally I don’t agree with what these fortune cookies tell me but this one I can learn to work with. So, in ending this was a 1 time visit, but don’t think I’ll be in a hurry to return. Something has to truly stand out before I will return and unfortunately New China 2 Mandarin Restaurant didn’t do that for me. Nothing left to say…
