This is a good Korean bakery. The shop is pretty small, but everything looks freshly baked and tasty. I got a white bean and walnut bun. The bread was soft, and the filing was smooth and flecked generously with walnut pieces. I’d stop by if I were in the area, but I wouldn’t make a special trip. I’m more of a sucker for Korean rice cakes than for baked goods. However, you can tell the owner/baker cares about his product and takes great pride and what he sells.

I’ve never been to the bakery but I was given a bun for a gift. Wow, I just bought some Woo Sung in Orlando and they’re amazing. If they taste this good in Florida, they must be amazing in Chicago!

Had a mocha cream bread that I bought from Woory Market a moment ago. I’ll miss you, my little mocha cream bread. So tasty. Wow! To be honest, I don’t know if I like this bakery or Bini more. But it’s definitely lovely, and I’m sure it’s even better in the actual New York Bakery. I know today is Pączki Day, but who needs pączki when these are so, so good? ;)

This was my first experience with Korean baked goods, and it was very pleasant… not life-changing or mind-blowing, just pleasant. There were quite a few good looking choices, and some were hits(white bean paste) and some were misses(corn). This would be a good spot to pick up something to share at a potluck or group brunch. Very friendly service, and there’s a couple of tables in case you don’t want to wait to eat.

I wandered in here with a craving for bagels. They don’t have anything of the sort, but they do have the freshest and most delicious buttercream filled buns I’ve ever had in my life! I left with a sampling of about 10 different buns/breads/cakes that lasted for days, and when I ran out, I was really sad. Luckily they are within walking distance from me(yea, you should be jealous!)

This place is just great. The gentleman that is always there is super sweet. Where else can you get rich dough rolls filled with buttercream – real buttercream. Get the peanut butter pastry too.

Everything here is so freakin’ delicious. And the man behind the counter even humored my roommate when she tried to say Goodbye in Korean. It was cute.

Sometimes I stop here for the tasty white bean buns. Yum! They have coffee also, so convenient on the way to the L.

One item comes to mind when I think of New York Bakery: BUTTERCREAM-FILLEDBUNS! Think of fresh-baked, soft, buttery buns(similar to King’s Hawaiian sweet rolls), filled with sweet buttercream. YUM! This was my favorite bakery growing up(I used to live right around the corner). This Korean bakery also sells delicious sponge cakes and birthday cakes. If you’ve ever been to Chicago Food Corp., you might have seen some of New York Bakery products there. Check this place out the next time you’re in Albany Park!

How could I forget to Unilocal about my favorite Korean bakery? I’ve been getting my Korean pastries from here since a little girl and really think this is one of the best K-bakeries in town. Everything is baked fresh and the treats are consistent in quality, freshness and availability. My favorite pieces are white bean filled buns, red bean filled buns, and peanutty bun. Their cream filled items are more whippy than custardy, but they also have several custard filled buns too. You just have to ask. I’m really happy I don’t live close to here or else I’d be in all the time. However, all the big Korean grocery stores(except H-Mart) carries New York Bakery items. Delicious!
