Not enough people to serve you but overall a good place for some good breakfast on the go. Or just kick back and talk to the locals.

Just roll on by, unless you’re looking for the real deal greasy spoon diner experience. Disgusting biscuits! They taste like the dough was never actually cooked but put out in the sun to dry. For what it is, it’s too expensive. All the servers are older women, so there’s a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ chance you’ll get sassed. The music is to their taste as well. Cable news, bootlegger hanging out by the register and crusty hot-​sauce bottles all contribute to the ambiance. Ride down Western a bit farther and you’ll find better options.

Eh, it was good enough. I had HUGE servings of food, so I was very happy to get more than what was paid for. However, the service is quite slow. I had to ask repeatedly for napkins, more coffee, butter, coffee creamer, etc. However, our breakfast was delicious and does exactly what a greasy spoon is supposed to. I really enjoyed the pancakes I shared with someone else. They are big and fluffy, not gummy, or cold or hot. They stayed warm a long time and I am really happy the food was of good quality, but the service is why I am giving two stars. I don’t agree with the last person’s review, the coffee was pretty bland. It was enough for me to finish the food with though.
I had the southside special, which is two hot links, hash browns, and eggs. I made a good choice, but I should have asked for grits as well. Oh well!
We waited over 25 minutes for a check… not good. DO NOT come here if you are in a hurry.

I don’t know how standard breakfast items turn out not tasting good but it happened here. I ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, o’brien potatoes and pancakes. The potatoes were a huge disappointment. They had absolutely no flavor. The eggs were kind of runny and also flavorless. The pancakes and coffee were the only things that were done well. The pancakes were big and fluffy and the coffee had a nice balance to the flavor –not too bold but not too mild either. I know it’s not a fancy schmancy joint so I guess…
