My fiancé and I ordered the 5 topping pizza for $ 9.99. The pizza was made very fast, when we called to confirm the girl on the phone said «yeah what about it» she had an attitude. The toppings were pretty good, but the pizza was very doughy. Not sure I would recommend.

This pizza blows — literally. When I bit into it, it popped, like I released air where actual food should be! The delivery driver was smiling when he pulled up — I guess that was actually a smirk on his face, as if to say «Enjoy your air ‘za, Sucker!»
I’m binge watching «The Knick» right now — these old-​school quacks couldn’t cure anything in 1900 without using the white stuff.
God, this pizza sucks.

was starving last night at around 1 am and I drove by this Papa John’s location and saw that they were open. Because I live right down the street, I decided to go home and call in my order because from past experience, I KNOW they are SLOW. When I called, the girl who answered put me on hold for like 10 minutes and never came back on the phone. I called two more times and she automatically forwarded me to hold rather than picking up the phone… talk about POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! They were open until 3am though!

REALLY BAD SERVICE! I ordered a veggie pizza. The delivery guy came exactly after an hour, made me come all the way out of my building (which no other delivery person has never done before) and delivered a pepperoni pizza. I called him up and he started grumbling, and said he will get my order done now. I waited for another hour and no response. So after 2 hours of waiting for food, I call up this store and the person on phone just said «we will refund you, sorry!» and hung up. 2 hours of waiting and I have no food and its past midnight and I have no other decent place to order from. Thanks papa johns for teaching me a valuable lesson to never order from you again!

Do NOT order from this location. Waited over two hours. They never called or tried to contact me. I called several times. Staff is highly unprofessional. No apology. The so called manager made up a lie as an excuse.

Avoid at all costs. Put in my order online and paid — including a nice tip for the delivery. Once I received my confirmation email it gave me an estimated delivery time of — wait for it — 125 minutes! Of course when I called the location to cancel my order they wouldn’t answer the phone. I tried for 5 – 10 minutes. I eventually called the papa johns customer service line, who then called the store. (I guess they will answer calls from the company management but not actual customers.) They finally cancelled my order but offered nothing for the terrible experience. Now that it’s 9:15 on a Saturday night I need to find an alternative. It will be quite a long time before I order from PJ’s again!

Called them for delivery, told them the address, was told I had to pick it up even though the only other time we ordered from them, it was delivered. Which is why we got a deal coupon for buy one get one. The guy on the phone could not give any less of a crap. This location should REALLY reconsider their staff and pay attention to the reviews.

I called the store a couple days after my last post and spoke with an assistant manager who’s name starts with a J, she was much much more curious than the previous assistant manager S with whom I previously had contact. I appreciate that she was very professional, apologetic, and offered resolution regarding my previous experience. I added a star because this encounter demonstrated concern for customer satisfaction and customer service.

I love Papa Js. Always have. Unfortunately I ordered a pizza with an expected wait time of 30 – 40 minutes and it was finally delivered in over 1 hour and 30 mins. I asked the delivery guy what the holdup was and he said traffic. Considering I was staying in a hotel only 3.4 miles away I find it unlikely. Pizza was just above room temperature. Good franchise but not this location.

Horrible experience. Called corporate on them because they were just beyond rude and their service was horrible. Waited more than 2 hours on ONE pizza when the wait time was 30 – 40 minutes. They were so stingy when I called them to see whether they could compensate me for the long wait and they said all they can give me was a 2 liter soda. The food finally arrived more than 2 hours later and the pizza was cold and hard and had a HAIR on it. They also did not give me the soda that they promised. Every time I order from here (past orders), their wait has always been 1 and a half hours — 2 hours. Will definitely never order from here again because I will not risk eating their dirty hair (they probably spat in the pizza too) Rude and slow ass service. Would give it 0 stars if I could.

I live a block away. Pizza arrived lukewarm. Asked for well done & sausage on pizza and the wings were underdone. Had to place in the oven. Ended up tipping 3 bucks to the driver because «he didn’t have change». So I was charged $ 2.95 delivery fee & $ 3 tip for a horrible pizza that he coulda walked to me & I woulda gotten it faster. Won’t ever order from them again. Next time I take my lazy arse out in the snow.

The positive reviews are clearly manufactured. I’ve never come across a business that works so intently against its own business interests. The following is an absolute fact, and 90% of the reason I decided to write this review – I recently endured the third (and obviously final) installment in the soap opera that is «Ordering A Pizza from Papa Johns, Near South». Again, not kidding: for the third time, consecutively, and fourth time overall, they have delivered the first pizza 40 minutes late, gotten it wrong, sent a second pizza, which they also got wrong, then a third – yes, third time seems to be a charm. It makes me so sad to see a neighborhood business struggle to this degree.

I was in Chicago for a conference, but really on the outskirts of town. Some friends and I decided to walk down the street to a market to stock our room fridge, and were happy to find Papa John’s right next door. They had a $ 5 deal, so I grabbed a pepperoni pizza to go. My friend ordered some bread sticks. As we were waiting, a couple more people came in to pick up to-​go orders. I heard one customer ask for packets of cheese and peppers, but the clerk told him that they cost extra. What? I’ve never heard of that before!
So, the pizza was pretty standard as far as Papa John’s goes… but pretty sad to be eating Papa John’s in the land of Chicago-​style pizza, right?
If you’re staying in the McCormick area, there aren’t many places to eat, and Papa John’s is the Starbucks of pizza — consistent and predictable. Plus, you can’t beat $ 5! A-​OK for sure!

The pizza was good, but I hesitate about ordering more because of the deliveryman. He drove past my place, even though I indicated the name of the location. I was even nice enough to wait for him in my lobby because parking isn’t really ideally here. Anyway, I ended up running after the car and he stopped and said ”I don’t normally treat my other customer like I treat you” and then he mention my tip. He only changed his attitude when he saw me pulling out a dollar (that I was also planning to tip him along with the remaining 96 cents I tipped beforehand online with my e-​gift card.)

Since my last couple of experiences with the local South Loop Papa John’s, the timeliness has improved. I even received a phone call and email from the General Manager.
They are starting to trend in the correct direction…

My brother got some carryout and my sister brought a slice home and a parmesan breadstick. Even after a few hours and a quick few seconds in the microwave and it was still good.
Pizza — Ingredients tasted fresh and the crust had a soft chewy consistency to it.
Parmesan Breadstick — Very flavorful even without sauce. It is a bit more dense than others, but very good.
Like my sister says «So glad a Papa John’s is near us now!»
