CHICAGOATITSFINEST. Dare is nuttin more Che-ca-gho den a breaded steak from dis joint. Holy crap strap on your fat pants and hurry over if you feel like indulging in one of the city’s best sandwiches. The coworkers and I decided to treat ourselves with a trip to Ricobene’s last Friday. This place does a great biz… We got there just before noon and it was already packed with the typical lunch crowd. Breaded steak not your thang… no worries. They have a full menu to include pizza, pasta, salads, etc. but let’s be honest, if you order anything besides the ever popular steak sand than you are doing it all wrong. Ricobene’s on 26th is ancient and a no nonsense authentic Italian eatery. Guy Fieri would have a field day here! BOOMFLAVORTOWN… or some other nonsense. Anyhoo in short, it is a can’t miss if your visiting Chicago or if you just want a quick and delicious meal that will fill you up until tomorrow. Buon appetito!

Good pizza but delivery isn’t at door service, in my building they don’t come up, they call you to come down, I gotta come down which defeats the purpose of staying in and ordering :/

Ricobene’s is a Chicago staple. If you’ve never eaten at Ricobene’s I don’t think you can even safely consider yourself a true Chicagoan. I’m pretty sure if the SNL Super Fans existed in real life, they’d be getting together at Ricobene’s on a regular basis. If you’re going to go for nothing else, at least go for the breaded steak sandwich. You can get a taste at The Taste but you’re really not enjoying it fully unless you’re elbow deep in a full size(regular NOT king — unless you’re the Incredible Hulk or Dwayne the Rock Johnson) breaded steak roll covered in sauce and cheese. Trust me. It is everything you’ve ever heard it would be. If you’re going to go for something else the deep dish is phenomenal. The crust is buttery, flaky and perfect. The chicken vesuvio sandwich is definitely the second best sandwich on the menu. Fresh cut fries are a perfect addition to any order. Just note: If you order takeout they will not make your fries until you arrive. This is to ensure some crispiness remains on your trip home. However, I can see it being annoying to unsuspecting patrons. All of the above are not easy on the waistline but are pretty easy on the wallet. Ricobene’s is definitely the epitome of «Chicago food». You have to at least eat there for the bragging rights.

People from all walks of life flock to this neighborhood institution that serves up everything from its famous breaded steak sandwich, pizza(made with cornmeal), hot dogs with crispy, greasy fries, and even Italian ice! Rico’s, affectionately called by many, has a large dining area for you and your friends to congregate, or you can just take your order to go. Fortunately there’s a large parking lot across the street so you don’t have to worry about hunting down street parking. Prices are reasonable and offer value across the menu depending on what you’re in the mood for, and Rico’s always delivers consistency. For those with a ravenous appetite, try the King size of any of their sandwiches. It’s like eating a brick, at least in size. Also, you’ll want to try their deep dish spinach/mushroom pizza. This is quintessential Rico’s, and is probably one of their more popular offerings. Anyways, if you’re in the neighborhood and crave some Italian, you’ll want to stop by this family-owned anchor within Chicago.

I’ve only had delivery, so cannot comment on dining in. Customer service has always been very friendly and responsive on the phone. Delivery typically takes around an hour, so order in advance! This is my favorite place in the city to order Italian due to the consistently good quality of deliciousness and affordable price point. The thin crust pizza is made of a crisp but still slightly chewy crust and topped with very fresh ingredients. The mozzarella sticks are a nice size and hit the spot without tasting too heavy or greasy. The pastas taste fresh; my favorite is the cheese filled ravioli with meatless marinara sauce. Ah, that marinara sauce! It is slightly sweet and balanced by the acidity of the tomatoes, a little chunky, and plate-licking good!

Ricobene had amazing pork sandwiches, but their chili cheese fries are really what won me over. I ordered online and my food was actually ready when I got there The service was nice and the lines were not long at all. I’m happy they’re in driving distance

Great pizza. After much demand, the breaded steak pizza is now offered by the slice. Between the sauce and the breaded steak topping, this might just become my favorite pizza in Chicago, which is one heck of a statement.

I placed a delivery order today on their website, and after an hour and half, I called for a status on this order. I was told that their printer failed to print the order — so my order hadn’t been made. No apology was given. When I requested a refund of my order, I was told I had to wait three days because of the bank. When I asked for an email confirming my order would be refunded, I was told that was impossible. I was repeatly told this was not their fault. I was never apologized to, not once, for the inconvenience. While I understand mistakes happen, the terrible customer service I received and the lack of respect given by their employees has moved this place to the never again list.

I wish I could give them no stars no only did they tell me they don’t have slices of pizza but I ordered delivery at 9:46 and its 11:12 and I still have not gotten my food I called to check on my order and they told me the food was with the driver which was about 20 mins ago. I am very displeased with the service and customer service of this establishment. It is a shame that people that live 10 mins away have to wait over a hour to get their food. I do not recommend this restaurant nor will I patronize this business again. The food isn’t even all that good to be waiting this long for the order. Never will I ever order any thing from here again if you decide to be looking forward to waiting damn near a hour and a half for your order. Please don’t waste your time or money they are a disgrace to fast food and customer service and deserve to be shut down and put out of business.

What an awesome sandwich. Imagine a skirt steak pounded thin and tender, breaded and fried, then put that with homemade marinara, cheese and spicy peppers into a hoagie roll. The amount of steak is amazing — you cannot get your hands around the sandwich without getting covered in marinara. My wife and son used a fork and ate less then half of the sandwich, I leaned in and finally called it quits with a couple of bites left. All the way home we kept talking about how good it was and how much we wanted to go back. I have always been pretty partial towards a great Italian Beef sandwich, and Al’s #1 by the hospital was my downtown«go to» place; however, Ricobene’s has a lot of choose from(pizza looked great too) and parking is right across the street with plenty of seating inside. To be honest, until I exhaust their menu I expect to go to Ricobene’s.

Not busy tonight. I just waited 30 minutes for a baked mostaccioli. That’s kinda ridiculous. No apologies. I like Ricobenes. Been coming here for many years. I like the pizza and the breaded steaks. Mostaccioli is nothing special but it’s good. Wait times should be quicker but customer service should be much better. Knocked off 2 stars tonight.

They forgot my fries! And I wasn’t going to drive back to get it, so that kind of tinged the rest of my takeout experience here. The food was decent, I got the steak sandwich with fries and added an order of the arancini just because I can never pass that up. The arancini was decent, not the best, and I didn’t realize you had to add cheese to the steak sandwich or maybe mine was just missing the cheese… There just seemed to be a lot missing from the fries to the flavor. I liked the very traditional Italian restaurant type décor/feel. I would definitely come back to try some of their other foods, and you really can’t beat the prices for the amount of food you get. But be sure to check your takeout order before you leave!

So glad I took the late night adventure to bust and taste this amazing steak sandwich. I was told about this place by a close friend and boy was he right on… Make sure and grab a fat stack of napkins prior to unwrapping this beast cause your going to need them. Everything messy about this sandwich makes it so tasty from the great marinara sauce to the sautéed sweet peppers this sandwich is a win win!!! After a few days we found out this place was named the best sandwich in the US by US Today!!!

My go to is definitely the bbq jumbo wings! And the breaded steak of course is always great and HUGE. Inexpensive and they also have a parking lot across the street.

Meh. Pizza is ok, fries are undercooked(I’m beginning to think it’s a Bridgeport thing) despite ordering then well done, Italian(which they call Sicilian… wtf?) beef is passable, and the chicken parm sandwich is undone by a sauce that lacks spice and is too sweet. A bit of a crapshoot here; the kitchen lacks consistency.

I have been going to Ricobene’s forever now and it still is one of my go to places if I’m looking for a bite. My favorite items are hot wings and rib tips. The single order of hot wings are 8 large wings sitting on top of a bed of fries drenched in their hot sauce(the sauce isn’t too spicy at all, but still really good). Tip — get fries on the side if you like to dip your fries like me. Rib tips are very similar, rib tips with awesome BBQ sauce sitting on top of a bed of fries. My mouth is watering writing this… The place is open late and has a lot of seating. It’s got a classic south side vibe. I must have ordered at least 100 orders of hot wings in my life. Is that wrong?

After a late night workout, my friend was feeling pretty hungry so we stopped by here to grab a few slices of pizza to go. I loveeee the huge parking lot across the street, there is nothing nicer in Chicago than FREEPARKINGLOTS. Not that it’d be that hard to find parking in this area, but still FREEPARKING. There were still plenty of people /po — pos frequenting this restaurant even though we went so late around 11pm, and they don’t close until 2 am ! We ordered the veggie deep dish, lasagna deep dish(not so yums), and a sausage deep dish. They stuck the pizza in the oven for a quick reheat, and then they were boxed and ready to go. $ 12 for 3, pretty affordable I’d say because a slice is enough for 2 people to share. I reheated the pizza at home so it could be super hot and melty, and oh my gosh buttery crust all day long. The veggie deep dish was my favorite because’ it wasn’t that salty, and the huge chunks of tomato were the perfect addition to the slice. The crust was really the best part about the pizza, to this day I have not had better crust in Chicago. BESTDEEPDISH, but bring home and reheat! You will not be able to eat it at maximum deliciousness in the restaurant.

I went here because they said they have the best sandwich in the world. It is nowhere close to the best sandwich in the world. The breaded steak sandwich was raved about on USA Today… I can only assume by someone that hasn’t had a lot of sandwiches. I rate the steak sandwich as OK… not good, definitely not the best. I probably would never order it if there wasn’t the USA today article. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, and in my opinion, I could take a ride around just Chicago and find 10 other sandwiches that are more pleasing to my taste buds. Ricobene’s is a large place though, and they also have parking across the street which is great for the customers. It’s pretty much a pizza shop(you can get it by the slice) where someone from USA Today fell in love with the steak sandwich. Don’t believe 1 person just because they write for a newspaper, or that Ricobene’s plastered the article all over their window. You can try for yourself, but don’t expect it to be the best… or even close.

Im not sure who these people think they are! The steak sandwich I just had was 5lbs! It was soo big that I couldn’t get my hand around it… 2 hands weren’t even big enough! Who do they even think they are feeding? O. thats right. ME! Yum! This place is unbelievable. The steak sandwich I just had wasn’t just delicious. it was in its own category of deliciousness. It was on garlic bread, with mozzarella cheese, red gravy and giardiniara. Wow. just wow. No human in their right mind should attempt to eat the whole thing. I ate a half of a half. I will be eating this sandwich for at least another day. I also posted a pic for your enjoyment and to make you drool. Tip: If you are picking up, call ahead. The line was out the door during a weekday lunch. Also. they have a massive parking lot, which was full. Its best to bring a wing man and double park. Hey. you’re gonna need another person anyway. the sandwich weighs a ton. Enjoy. Additional tip: unbutton your pants BEFORE you attempt to eat the sandwich lol. PS. If someone from Riconenes is reading this, PLEASE look into expanding your delivery area or using a deliver anything service like postmates to help. Im sure it would be a high success. I know I would use it all the time at my office. and IMSURE Im not the only one.
