LUV their new location in Andersonville Galleria — that place is amazing. So much to look at. Total variety in one compact space. Sweet:)

I left Paramour Bungalow with a little paper shopping bag containing two notepads and a monthly planner. I love paper goods, but I usually resist them — why does someone need so many little notepads? Well, the ones I got at Paramour Bungalow were irresistible. They also have a nice selection of greeting cards. If you were one of those little girls that loved post-its, pens, and Lisa Frank, well this is a much more grown up and acceptable version of paper goods consumption. The decorative home goods are unique, stylish, and many were brightly colored. There were coffee mugs, picture frames, and throw pillows that I wanted to carelessly plunk down money for, but I didn’t. Another pro here is the employees. They’re nice, and they don’t hound you at all. It’s a small shop, but I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything nor did I feel awkward lingering — it’s one of those stores you’ll want to walk around three times just to make sure you’ve seen it all.

Thanks to Angela S. and Unilocal,I found Paramour Bungalow! I looked through some pictures that others have posted, and as soon as I saw those cute painted tree rings, I knew I must purchase them. I made my way to Evanston on Friday(too bad it wasn’t for #shopsmall Saturday) and walked around until I found Paramour Bungalow. I absolutely adore these types of smaller boutique shops but never seem find anything that could be cute AND useful. This shop definitely proved me wrong… they have sooooo many freakin’ cute and useful things and I cannot wait to come back to purchase them :) A few things that caught my attention: candles shaped as eggs in «egg containers»(ok, not too useful, but super cute :-p), adorable wooden boxes specifically to store wedding/engagement rings), lots of things associated with owls, coat racks, and a variety of artwork to hang on walls in the kitchen, living room, etc, Full of unique and creative homemade items, this is a great stop for holiday shopping for those«hard to pick gifts for» family/friends on your list ;-)

Let me first admit that I have a love for all things mid-century modern and design-driven. If it looks clean but also kinda quirky and cute, I’m SOOOOO in. So, Paramour Bungalow specializes hardcore in all things clean but cute. Towels with snarky little sayings, lambswool blankets with drippy rain clouds(WANT!), monsieur and mademoiselle mugs with mustaches, typography-themed décor, goofy sweater dolls, VERY expensive candles, oddball porcelain dishes, phonograph-styled iPhone players, etc. — it’s all here. You want something unique but super high-quality and design-y? Then this is your store. Don’t expect to find anything here that you’ll see at any other Evanston store — or possibly even Chicago store — but do expect to find something perfectly special. The owner mentioned that they source their pieces from artists around the world, so the items are handmade and probably won’t last. They also have many, many funny and special greeting cards — the ones that are worth buying and sharing. And tea. They have loose tea. I could keep listing special little things they have, but the list would probably be different by the time you get there, so pop in and see what’s new yourself. I know I will.

Need a sculpture of a balloon animal? Or some candles shaped like eggs? Or a lamp that doubles as a gumball machine? Or just a free unicorn lollipop? Then you need to check this out! Paramour Bungalow is an adorable little boutique in Evanston filled with unique, handmade home accessories. Each item is handpicked by the owners from independent artists and vendors across the country(and even some internationally). We were ahh-ing and ooh-ing over every little ingenious creation and artistic décor on the shelves. The store had the most assorted things from cute teacups to fascinating books to animal-printed dishtowels to wooden speakers to love nightlights to candles in recycled wine bottles to painted branches to handmade cards and more! All would be marvelous in our home or great as unique gifts for others. After spending nearly an hour looking at everything and trying to decide what to spend our limited budget on, I ended up purchasing a cute«Happy» coffee mug and a wooden speaker. My husband and I hope to come back in a couple weeks for some holiday gifts… and maybe more for us! If you’re looking for an independent shop with that handpicked & handmade quirky item that would be perfect for your ecclectic home(or best friend, or sister-in-law, or co-worker…), swing by Paramour Bungalow!

Well worth the trip from the ‘burbs to check this place out. I love supporting local art and checking out unique pieces from artists around the country. I can honestly say I want almost everything in this place. My wife and I agree that our apartment would look worlds better if it housed one of everything in this place. In addition to the great items, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of every item in the store. After asking about different pieces in the store, I left with a new speaker for our phone with technology from roughly 500AD and a new mug. I will be back in the near future to buy more of everything!

I LOVETHISNEWSHOP! I mean I REALLY love it. Super excited to stop in this home furnishings haven, I finally made it in, and I’m telling you there is not a lot I can write in this review that will do this store justice(so make sure you check out the photos). I popped in here with my boys. First of all we walked in and they scored these super cool striped suckers for free. They were open to having kids in here, but I wouldn’t encourage your kiddos to touch. There is something in every corner of this shop — something for everyone and at all different price points. Fabulous cards, cozy arm chairs, printed down pillows and plates by Donna Wilson, and really fun custom table lamps. I also discovered these oversized wooden bins with safety-hinged lids that would make for a great storage bench for a kid’s room or coffee table in a TV room. Note there is a ping pong table in the center of the room for a display table — I like how unexpected this is. The accessories here are eclectic enough that you could blend them with«new» traditional or mid-century modern. This shop is a breath of fresh air. I will be back again and again. If you’re looking for a hostess gift or something out of the ordinary, run don’t walk! Hope this store sticks around for a long time.

Paramour is adorable! I love that they carry things I’m not going to find down the street. They have a great selection of accessories for my house and for gifts. I picked up the Common Good laundry soap on my last visit. It’s pretty AND good for the environment, my home and my clothes! I love that just a capful cleanses an entire load. My clothes, towels and bedding have come out of the wash fresh and looking good. I can’t wait to see what I come home with on my next visit!
