I’ve been with Paws-​N-​Effect for the past six years and started with them when my Doodle was a puppy; we still use the service 5 days a week. I assume the retention rate of dog walkers is pretty low as we tend to get a new walker every year. However, each is very professional, trustworthy and attentive. Every time we’ve had any issue with a walker or our expectations for each visit, the owner Kristen has dealt with it immediately and to my satisfaction. She is very involved in her business and always makes sure a new walker is thoroughly assimilated into our dog’s routine and our expectations as a client. My dog so looks forward to the arrival of the walker and seems to genuinely enjoy Adam. I see were a couple of people knock the company for a few short comings of any specific walker. Contact Kristen and let her know your issues or concerns. On the rare occasions when I need to do so, I do and any problem is resolved. I strongly recommend her company, and the rates are the best in town. More than worth the money.

We used Paws N Effect for a few years when we just got our puppy. Kristen and her team are great! They really care about the dogs and leave a note daily as to what your dog did. Our dog is now old enough to hold it all day and doesn’t need a walker anymore, but I would highly recommend this service!

I just love this company! My little Fost gets walked 2 – 3 times per week by a regular walker; Nico has been great and leaves notes that make me smile when I come home («Nice day out, we had fun on our walk. Foster went #1 and 2.») Kristen, the owner, always responds quickly and is usually very accommodating to my requests, even when they are pretty last minute. I love knowing that my pup is well cared for when I am working on my long days. Thanks a million Paws n Effect :)

Great service! My dog loved his walker Adam and, even though we used this service briefly, I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

Paws-​N-​Effect is fantastic. They are very flexible and have always done their best to accommodate requests, even when fairly last minute. They always respond to my emails very promptly. Basically I never have to worry that Chips is in good hands when I’m at work during the day which is the best thing I could ask for. Paws-​N-​Effect is reliable, friendly, and an all-​around great business.

2.5 stars. While I appreciate the great prices and flexible scheduling, this service left me pretty underwhelmed. We have used quite a few dog walking services but this was our first in Chicago. Maybe it’s just indicative of the gig itself (I mean c’mon, it must be great to be a dog walker in San Diego, not so much Chicago during a polar vortex). In any case I found the walks to be short, paws not wiped and other little things that left me not too excited with the services I received.

Starting 2014 with a 5 star review! I cannot say enough great things about Kristen and the wonderful employees at Paws N Effect. I found Paws while struggling to find a walker for our little Biscuit. In todays society of healthcare, first responders, aviation– professions that are not 9 – 5, M-​F– I was surprised so many competitors had a 5 walk a week minimum requirement, which I did not need (see profession). Paws N Effect was a lifesaver!
They go above and beyond in taking care of Biscuit. I always get a progress note, they refill his water if necessary, return him to his crate (which is a challenge at times). When Biscuit chewed up a trash bag, Kristen cleaned it up and immediately notified us (I was mortified but relieved he was ok). They treat Biscuit like their own. I never worry about having someone else with our key. They are the utmost professional. Highly recommend!

Like others have mentioned, I was nervous about handing my keys over to someone I don’t know. However, when I met Lili I had no qualms about it. She took the time to stop by on a Saturday morning — I really appreciated that, because I wanted to meet the person who would be spending time with my little boy!
I want to nominate her for a freaking Nobel Prize. When I get home my lab puppy is much calmer and well exercised thanks to Lili. And she writes the sweetest notes about him. It’s obvious she really cares for him the way I do!
I can’t say enough good things about Lili or Kristen!

I’ve been using Paws-​N-​Effect for over three years and I couldn’t be happier with them. Kristen runs a great business, and it’s obvious that she truly loves animals. Both big pluses when you’re looking for someone to watch after your pet! I’m lucky enough to work from home, but travel regularly, and the Paws N Effect staff are always able to accommodate my walk requests when I’m gone. I highly recommend them for your pet care needs!

I love Paws-​N-​Effect and so does my dog. Kristen is professional, dependable and very nice. Prior to your first walk, she meets with you and your dog in person and chats about your dogs needs, behavior and personality. My walker, Ben, is such a dog lover. My lab, Vida, is obsessed with him. I use their service multiple times a week and they are really great.

I’m going to be honest– we were extremely nervous about inviting strangers into our home to take our best friend out for walks every day. But we work, and we need to be fair to the pooch. We called Kristen and she ended up coming over the next evening with our prospective dog walker, Spike. Their presence was so calm & even, I felt comfortable, and so did our dog. We hired them, this was back in Feb. Spike was just awesome, and after reading his (always amusing) notes– we knew that our 4 legged friend was in good hands. After an unfortunate softball injury we now have another dog walker, Lauren, who is fantastic as well. We’re extremely happy with their services– and so is the pooch!

Paws N Effect/​Kristen have watched my 2 cats multiple times, and I am a huge fan. She came for an inital consult, and was super detailed and thorough, and has been that way each time I have used her services. She’s been very flexible and accomodating with my schedule/​changes, checks in mid week if it’s a long trip, is super responsive with texts and phone calls, and also leaves a detailed letter for when I return. She even sweeps up by the litter box area so it’s not a total mess when I come home. I think that we put a lot of trust into pet care service providers to take care of our pets, and I always have peace of mind when I leave them in her hands. Several people in my building also use her dog walking services, so I assume they would all say the same thing. On occassion, if Kristen is not available, Kelly has covered for her, and she has also been great. I highly highly recommend!

We don’t go out of town very often, but when we do, we take pains to make sure our little doggie daughter is well taken care of. The only place our pooch had spent any time away from home has been at a friend’s house, but I wanted to stop imposing on our friends and find a legitimate, professional option for dog sitting. Kristen and her associate (brother) took such good care of our dog Nacho, getting her fed, watered and walked for 5 days, and spending the night at our place for 4 nights. We knew she was in trustworthy hands, we got daily updates via text, and the whole thing was virtually stress-​free for Nacho. She got as much attention as if we’d never left! If you ask me, it’s the only way to go, if you’re going out of town and you need pet care. I’ve already got Kristen booked for our next trip, and Nacho now has 2 new human best-​buds.

I found out about Paws-​N-​Effect from my neighbor who raved about their services. We contacted the company to begin using their services right as Kristen became the new owner of Paws-​N-​Effect, early summer 2010? Time flys and its hard to remember, but it’s definitely been a while. We’ve really enjoyed their services as well as flexibility in scheduling. Kristen always responds to my emails and I always get a note about how my dog has done for the day.
This is a great company which provides exceptional service!

I also wish that I could give more than 5 stars!!! They are reliable, affordable, flexible and take a genuine interest in pets and their owners. I used to feel anxious about coming home to a hyper dog with a full bladder. Now I look forward to greeting my dog and reading his walker’s note about their visit. While I’m sure that the other walkers are great, I have to say how much we love our walker, Damian. He’s trustworthy, kind and has gone above and beyond for our family. We are moving to the suburbs and will miss Paws-​N-​Effect!

Even with all 5 reviews at 5 stars, these guys need a sixth!
My wife stumbled upon PnE the week we got our new mastiff puppy. We called a few places, and with Jane’s discount for adopted dogs, she offers the best deal in town. With a mastiff (106 lbs at last measurement), some places wouldn’t even talk to us. Jane came by and fell in love with our pup right away
As was said in other reviews, they leave great notes that make it clear that they love what they do and they do it reliably.
Also, my wife was working shift work at the hospital, so we sometimes had to call on late notice– never a problem.
We moved out of the city, so I can’t sing PnE’s praises by word of mouth, so I figured I’d shout it from the rooftops on Unilocal.

I started using Paws-​N-​Effect several months ago, and I have used them daily for the last month, and I couldn’t be happier. When I started, I was finishing up an old job out-​of-​state and I had to be gone for several days at a time periodically. I had a friend watching my pug Ernie, but I didn’t want her to feel pressured to have to run home at 5:00 to let him out. Jane was totally flexible with scheduling and allowed me to have just these sporadic visits. During that time, she trained Chris, who would become Ernie’s permanent walker once I started my full-​time job.
Now I am working long hours, so Paws-​N-​Effect comes daily. Ernie has a new walker, Dan, and everything is going great. (Note that Jane doesn’t change her walkers often and Ernie has until now had Chris every day. She just expanded so much that she had to add another walker and we are on the new route.) Both Chris and Dan have written wonderful notes that tell me Ernie is in good hands. Dan has only been there a few days, but he has already gushed over Ernie and I can tell they have really bonded.
But really the most telling thing about Paws-​N-​Effect is what happened when Ernie got sick. Several weeks ago, he got giardia, and Chris came over to find unpleasantness all over Ernie’s pen. Ernie does NOT have accidents anymore, so I knew something was wrong. Chris cleaned it up first, and then called me to let me know so that I was able to run home and take Ernie to the vet before they closed. He was back to himself by Saturday morning, but then last night, had a bit of a relapse. It was really bad by morning, so I emailed Jane to see if they could schedule an emergency morning visit in addition to his afternoon walk. I wanted it between 10 and 11 so that it wasn’t too close to his 1 – 3 afternoon walk. I thought this was a pretty short time-​frame, but Jane accommodated me. Not only that, but the vet requested a sample for testing, which I did not have time to get. Naturally all of this happens on a day when I can’t leave the office early, so I wouldn’t have time to collect the sample. I left a note asking him to try to save what he could, so Dan bagged a sample and I was able to run home and grab it over lunch and run it to the vet. So gross, but he was totally willing and didn’t complain at all. Now Ernie has more meds, and I will not have to wait another day to give them to him!

Paws n effect/​Jane are awesome. I used them for a few months and now can not afford it, but as soon as I can they will be back. They really care about your pets and it’s so fun coming home and seeing the notes they leave. They leave very personal notes that show that it was not a chore but they actually had fun with your pet. They are a dependable service and very trustworthy.
Note: my boyfriend got me a free month of these walks for a present so you can pre pay, and it’s the most amazing gift I’ve ever gotten!

Jane runs a wonderful company. I use her daily (and then some) for dog walking services. I have a chihuahua puppy who is definetly special needs– she had several toes amputated and has to wear a cone at all times for at least 2+ months. Jane and her walkers take great care of my little darling. She is reliable and really watches out for my pup’s best interest. Jane has a lot of experience with dogs and will point out when she notices a possible issue with my dog’s health. Her prices are really great (about 2 – 3 dollars per walk lower than the competition). I can’t say enough good things about paws-​n-​effect!
