I’m so glad my friend suggested this spot! She is a Soho member. I can’t remember the name of the app, but if you download it you get certain specials. I went on a Thursday night and it was 50% off the menu using the app(sorry I can’t be more helpful. I’m not sure what the name of it is). I ended up going with the spicy sausage pizza. It was DELICIOUS! The flavor was yummy and the crust was thin and crispy. The cocktails are also yummy. I recommend going wth the Picante de la casa. It has a spicy kick to it. The restaraunt itself is nothing fancy. It feels like going to your local diner. Service was great and I would definitely go again for another pizza or to try some other items on the menu.

I was not expecting such a large, yet cozy space(inside the Soho House). There was no one at the«front desk» to check us in which I found to be a bit annoying, but clearly, I got over it. We ordered the zucchini & eggplant fritti/basil aioli and the veal meatballs/prosciutto/cream/sage pizza. Both were DELISH — especially the pizza. I’m still thinking about and drooling over it to this day! I’m excited to go back and try other items on their menu(small plates — perfect for sharing).

Located in SoHo house, this place is really cool and trendy, place to be kind of place. They have great menu with small plates, but of course you must go for the pizza. I had a traditional margarita pizza. and it was solid, and I love the slight char marks, and over all they use quality cheese. The service is also excellent, and I think they do a great job for being such a popular and busy place. Will definitely come back again

Unfortunately the service I experienced today was lacking despite the fact that it seemed well staffed and sparsely occupied. Someone in our party didn’t get their meal with the rest of us and our server didn’t check in with us and thus didn’t notice. Our water glasses were empty, my cocktail order forgotten. Thankfully the food was good, although I did leave hungry.

The place: I know some people might be opposed to the potential of pretension, since this place is in the Soho House, but whatever. It’s not pretentious, it’s reasonably priced, and it’s delicious. Service was helpful, knowledgeable about the food, and great with suggestions. It’s rustic, the tables in some cases are a little close together, but overall, all the wood made me feel transported, if even for an hour… and I appreciate that sometimes in the bustling city. The taste: We shared the portabello/taleggio pizza, and they even let us add broccolini onto it, which was sort of a revelation. If you like spice, make sure to dip your crust in their house made chili oil… you’ll get a kick, but it was just what I needed in this constant state of stuffiness that is Chicago allergy season. We also shared the brussels sprouts. Soaked in balsamic vinegar… they. were. AWESOME. And I already love brussels sprouts, but these. Yum. We love vegetables so much, so we also got the cauliflower, which is an entire head of cauliflower. It was a little unwieldy to eat, but tasted good — we just were so full by the end — we finished the pizza and the brussels sprouts, and left maybe a third of the cauliflower. I think we did well for ourselves. My face: Big smile. $ 40 for 2 of us. We went splitsies, but we both thought it was totally reasonable. We were stuffed. Got a lot of different flavors. We didn’t order drinks(come on, it was a Monday. I just can’t do that as much anymore — you know what I’m talking about you 30+ year olds ;-)). I’d recommend it. Cute date place, I think.

I came here for dinner on a weekday and it was pretty empty inside, probably because this place is kind of hidden. Don’t worry if you don’t have a reservation. It’s located up the staircase inside Soho House. They have a great weekday happy hour menu from 4−7pm, which was a pleasant surprise. The bf and I got the garlic bread, calamari, and san daniele pizza. As you may know, the garlic bread is no longer complimentary. It now has a hefty $ 4 price tag for one oversized roll, but I just had to get it to see what the hype was. The toasted bread was perfectly crusty on the outside and airy and chewy on the inside. Paired with garlic butter goodness, how could you go wrong? The calamari was a very generous portion. The batter was light and crispy and paired with an aioli. Next time, I will probably ask for some red sauce on the side. The san daniele pizza was okay. I would probably go with a different type next time. The crust edge is great, however, the center of the pizza is too thin and soggy and almost nonexistent. The two appetizers and pizza was just a bit too much for two people. We can probably get away with just one app next time. If they can make the center of the pizza a little more sturdy, that would be a great improvement. The crust is tasty though and the happy hour menu is a great deal.

Located on the inside of the Soho House, this trendy little pizza joint hits the spot. I was there with a large group and despite not having our entire party present, they seated us based on our reservation anyways. So two thumbs up for that. The food: The appetizers were amazing. The cauliflower, the meatballs, the bread, everything, top notch. The pizza. I honestly can’t recall what I ordered but it wasn’t on the menu and I said«I want all the meat» and they made it happen. Delicious. Why four stars instead of five? Well our waiter seemed disinterested. We were clearly ready to party that night and yet I was never asked if I wanted another drink… Thank god I pregamed. It also took FOREVER to get the check when we had clearly been done eating for at least 20 minutes. Then once the check came it took more FOREVER to get the slips back. In fact, there were periods of time when I didn’t see our waiter in the restaurant. I don’t know where he was hiding, but with a large group willing to drink and spend, you need to pay better attention. Having said that, I’d go back for the food, but I might go with a slightly smaller group if the staff is going to feel so overwhelmed that they just don’t bother.

When you think of pizza in Chicago, you typically think Deep Dish pizza with enough butter in the crust to choke a cow. Pizza East is not that. Pizza East is a Napolitano style pizza cooked in a brick oven with fire. They use a sourdough bread for the crust and use minimalistic toppings. The toppings can vary from the normal every day toppings like tomatoes and mushrooms to the more exotic such as Pork Belly. I must say, of all the places I’ve been to and eaten Napolitano style pizza, this was my favorite. I think it was the crust. The Sourdough crust gave off such a delicious profile to the pizza. My fiancé did not care for the crust as I did, but she does not like sourdough so there’s that. I also think the pizza was so thin and flimsy that it cannot support the toppings. I found myself using my fork quite often to try and put the toppings back on the dough. I’m so glad I accidentally came across this place while searching for a nearby restaurant. I will be back here for sure!

Meatballs were delicious, brussels sprouts salad was bland, and the pizza was just alright. I was very excited to eat here(I saw it when I had high tea in the lobby with some girlfriends) but was pretty disappointed in the end. We ordered martinis and they arrived in low-ball glasses. We were the only table our server had for a while so she was constantly at our table and legit stood over us at the table when we said we needed a minute of time to order. I would definitely not recommend it, unfortunately.

Stopped by Pizza East last night after we were told it was a 2 hour wait at Parlor. We were seated upstairs right away. It was only 7pm, so the place was pretty empty but it filled up as our meal went on. We ordered the brussels sprouts and 2 pizzas. Sprouts were great! The balsamic was sweet, which balanced the pungent cheese. Delicious! Pizzas were also pretty good. I ordered the one with olives, my husband had the one with mushrooms. Both were salty. I contributed the saltiness to the olives but I’m not sure what made the mushroom pizza so salty. Why not 5 stars? — The pizzas are small and expensive for the size. Ingredients are fresh and worth some extra dollars, but I’ve never finished a $ 14 pizza on my own until last night. This is not a place where you’re going to split a pizza with someone, unless you order a salad and some apps/sides. — If you order a soda, it’s $ 4. And it’s the little glass bottles — so no refills. Something about that drives me crazy at restaurants.

I came to a birthday dinner and I really liked it here! I thought parlor pizza had a bit more to offer across the street. The cauliflower appetizer was bomb and the pizza was all pretty good! My favorite was the burrata. The garlic bread was a bit hard… We had very good service.

There are many things that I love about this place… but the two that top the charts are: 1) Garlic bread 2) Sunday night family dinner I’ve been here 3 times now and every time, I honestly think the experience gets better and better. The garlic bread is seriously LEGIT. It’s a wood-fired focaccia round that gets brought to the table. An «X» gets cut at the top and the most divine concoction of piping hot butter, garlic, salt, and other herbs gets poured into the steamy opening. Honestly, the presentation alone gets 5 stars, but then biting into it is just the most wondertastic thing(!). Every time I have gone now, our table has gotten TWO servings of it. And every time, I have savored every last bite. TIP: Save the plate with residual garlic butter for dipping when the pizza comes! Also, how can anyone NOT love their Sunday night family dinner special? For $ 50, you get a family style 3-course meal for 4. They don’t have a lot of pastas on their house menu, but the pasta they make for the family dinner is SO artisanal. The first time we went, they served a Rigatoni Beef Ragu. The pasta was perfectly al dente, fresh like they roll pasta in the back, and with a fabulously MEATY Ragu sauce. Just absolutely finger-licking fabulous. I will say one other thing: The service is spot on. Every time we’ve gone, we’ve had the most chill, friendly, just flippin’ cool wait staff in the West Loop. One of our waitresses even had the most rad Yoda tattoo on top of being super sweet and super attentive. Pizza East has become one of my favorite spots in West Loop – and frankly, that’s saying a lot.

Finally, a place with glorified cauliflower and not broccoli on the menu! I’m probably one in every thousand who is not a big fan of broccoli. But, I lovex2 cauliflower. Get the whole roasted cauliflower. The meatballs are good and so is the marinara sauce that comes with it. I always get the Bibb lettuce because it comes with a generous amount of chunky avocado(+ points for that).

I’m very picky with my pizza, and I haven’t found any pizza that I like in Chicago until I came here. Super trendy restaurant above the Allis(another favorite) and great vibes Meal starts with THEBEST garlic bread I have ever had in my life. The waiter informed us that we were in for a treat so I knew it was going to be good. They bring out this doughy goodness then stab it with a knife and pour this garlic butter insanity inside. Holy. Yum. I can never say to any alcoholic beverage with spice or jalapeño so i ordered the picante de la casa. this was great. it had a nice kick and wasn’t hard to drink. My friends ordered a drink that was entirely too gingery for them. Next burrata fava bean bruschetta– AMAZING and fresh Mac n cheese-gooey and cheesy and delicious The pizza crust here is insane. Love when pizza has those distinct burn marks and is perfectly chewy and crisp Proscuitto arugula pizza-nothing with good prosciutto is ever had. Spicy salami-my favorite. On the spicy side but great flavor that kept my taste buds happy Mushroom– the least special of the bunch but still pretty good The garlic bread alone makes this place a must try.

A good review starts with«everything went well». An excellent review starts when something goes wrong. A simple mistake — we asked for a plain pasta but the pasta arrived with some cheese(we loved it. Our son — not so much). Clearly — they fixed it(and mind you, pasta is not even on the menu). But then the guy who made the pasta came and offered the kids to come and watch him while he’s making the pizza. An unforgettable experience for the kids. And, oh — the pizza is great!

Okay so I accidentally stumbled upon this place and I’m soooooo happy life worked it’s magic that i did. I planned an afternoon tea event at the Allis knowing it’s at the Soho hotel but had no idea that this gem of a pizza place was also here. It’s located above the Allis and if you have a large stroller like we did it was nice to know they had elevators that could take us upstairs. Honestly, my girls and I were full from afternoon tea and all their delicious pastries but the smell of pizza upstairs was just making us get up there. To start, they brought out this insane garlic bread. It is the worlds greatest garlic bread and it’s complimentary. I mean the dough is insane and then they pour this garlic butter on top and it’s just an orgasm in your mouth. I’m sorry, but that’s all I can really say about it. You must try this next time you are here. Since we weren’t really hungry at all we chose one pizza to split amongst us four and it came out pretty quickly in like 15 minutes out of those wood burning ovens that reminded me of Italy. We got the mushroom pizza and it was delicious and once again, the crust was also insane. I wanted more and more of it even though my stomach was telling me no, you’re full. I did have a slice of the 6 pieces and it was delicious. Everyone working there seemed super friendly and I can’t wait to come back with my family and friends to try more pizzas and some of their desserts because they also looked superb. Atmosphere is also nice, very chill and has some windows so you can come here when it’s not super busy and enjoy a good book and some of the finest Chicago pizza, and I’ve tried them all. Will definitely be back! Spa, afternoon tea and pizza for dinner, it’s got it all.

Just walking into this place ups your Trendiness Clout. The décor is my favorite part about this place. Perfect mix of industrial and modern. The space is just amazing and I love how they divide up the different areas. I came here for a whirlwind trip back home to Chicago and it was close and convenient. A perfect place to get together with the girls and gab for a bit. We just got the wine and the carafe prices are pretty decent considering the quality of the wine. I forget what kind it was, but we got the pinot grigio and were not disappointed. I’d love to come back here sometime to explore the menu!

I visited Pizza East for a Sunday lunch with some girlfriends and in an area where you have to assume a 1 – 2 hour wait for any other restaurant in the West Loop during Sunday brunch hours, this was the perfect choice. We arrived at Soho House just as afternoon tea was about to start downstairs so we chose the pizza option and were seated immediately. Service was prompt and attentive and we had some fun interacting with our server through the meal. For 4 ladies, we all split the gnocchi romana and gorgonzola, the wood oven whole cauliflower, the spicy sausage and broccolini pizza, and the kalamata olives and burrata pizza(plus a bottle of bubbly). This was the perfect amount of food with just enough room leftover at the end to split the nutella focaccia and banana for dessert. Gnocchi — This was really more like polenta rolled into gnocchi shaped bites but it was still very tasty and the blend of romano and gorgonzola cheese was delish. Wood Oven Cauliflower — This was literally a whole head of cauliflower charred to perfection in their wood oven and covered in spices on a bed of spiced yogurt. A unique dish and very tasty. The cauliflower had a great flame taste to it and spiced well. Spicy Sausage and Broccolini Pizza — The broccolini and sausage were both fresh and tasty. My only complaint was that this pizza was a bit too greasy and wish there was a tomato or some other acidic flavor to break up the abundance of cheese. Kalamata olive, Burrata, and Tomato Pizza — This pizza was my favorite dish of the lot. Fresh burrata cheese and delicious chunks of tomatoes with just the right amount of kalamata olives thrown on. Very flavorful. A side note: the pizzas were clearly made fresh, but oddly they were a bit cold when they came out. I’m not sure if the pizzas were waiting for the other dishes so they could bring everything out at once but it was a tiny disappointment to not have the pizza steaming and hot. The nutella focaccia with banana was mind blowing. I’m such a good wife that I only ate 2 small bites and took the rest home for my husband who loves anything nutella. But it was amazing and for $ 10 you get 4 huge pieces that were easy to share. Pizza East is a great little gem with a trendy and modern vibe, unique and tasty dishes, and great service. An added bonus is it’s very cost friendly especially for this location. A bottle of prosecco, 2 pizzas, 2 antipastis, and a dessert came out to just over $ 100 for 4 of us to split. Not too shabby for a Sunday afternoon. I’ll gladly return.

The service lacked enough attention but the food made up for it. We were here on a thursday night and thought it wouldn’t be crowded since it was the colded day in history but were were wrong. We started with the garlic bread and can I just say it stole the show!!! Warm bread brought table side, stabbed with a fork and knife by the waitress and then hot garlicy goodness poured in and on top for us to serve up to ourselves… ummm! YES please!!! For dinner we had the gnocchi romana, gorgonzola and this was an interesting antipasti to start with. I enjoyed all the cheesey goodness! For dinner I had the eggplant, tomato, marscarpone, pesto pizza, I loved the flavor combination that was presented in this pizza but wish it had a little more savory to it. Overall good spot and great competition for Parlor pizza right across the street!

Stopped by for lunch on a Thursday, and we were pleasantly seated immediately. Since my husband and I are obsessed with pizza(especially wood fired), we sat at the pizza bar. We ordered 2 — veal and meatball and the eggplant pesto. The latter was definitely my favorite — I seriously could have eaten that one all day. The flavors were amazing. The veal and meatball was a bit too salty for my taste, but still good. I loved the crust — nice and crispy outside with a chewy center — they get the crispy outside by adding some olive oil around the edge before placing it in the oven — so awesome. The guy prepping the pizza was great, checked on us and held some conversation while multi-tasking. I enjoyed my over all experience and look forward to coming back… hopefully the eggplant pizza will still be on the menu since it’s seasonal. A little rant — I have to say, and I’ve said this in other reviews before — not all pizzas are created equal! There are DIFFERENT types of pizza! You have your deep dish, thin crust, NY style, Detroit style, Neapolitan, Roman, Sicilian, wood fired, etc etc. Typically your wood fired pizza will have that more chewy/fluffy crust on the outer ring with the«soggy/floppy» center. If the temp is run lower and the pizza stays in there longer, it’ll be stiffer. If you’re going to be that picky about pizza, do your research on the type that you’re in the mood for, and go there. Otherwise don’t be upset if you come here and find that the pizza isn’t officially thin crust, pan, etc. This is wood fired, not officially proclaimed as Neapolitan, but still pretty damn good.
