So good. The bibem bop is so fantastic. I would eat here everyday if I still lived in Chicago. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

It’s great to see different types of Korean restaurants and trying something different besides the typical Korean buffet, BBQ, and traditional fare. Not that I mind any of the typical Korean places, but I like a change of pace and this place fits the bill. The interior looks like it should be an American diner, but someone changed their mind midway and decided to create a Korean-American mashup. This place is great for breakfast and lunch, or a low-key dinner and is located a block away from Wrigley Field. I’ve had the kalbi(or galbi) burger, which is served on a pretzel bun. It was dry, but I could taste the potential for something good here! I also tried the bibimbap, which was much better in terms of presentation, and taste. Nothing like a trusty classic. I’ll have to come back and try more of the breakfast-fare along with some of the other noodle dishes available, but I’m glad Rice ‘N Bread is around to break from the typical Korean mold.

Great place, probably the best bibimbap in the city! The place is small and a little dated, but the food is delicious.

(EDIT2: Upping from 2 stars to 3, since it mainly sounds like the delivery service’s fault. The owner is actually very nice and called me to explain that the delivery service they contract out to(Reyes Food Delivery) picked up our food at 9:25PM. He gave me their contact information and I tried to reach out and complain but they weren’t picking up and their voice mailbox is full. If I could find them on Unilocal,I’d leave them a scathing review. I’d strongly consider using a different delivery service since it makes such a big impression on your customers when the deliveries aren’t on time.) (EDIT: Upping from 1 star to 2 because the food was pretty good, but I still think the delivery/management failed. Food ended up showing up 40 minutes later than they originally said it would. Delivery guy(from a private company) said he received the order around 10:15 — 10:20PM, so either my order was forgotten and they made it after I called, or they were just really behind and didn’t bother to update me. Either way, this was a horrible experience.) Can’t rate the food cause we NEVERGOTIT, but right now their delivery service is AWFUL in my book. We ordered our food just after 9PM from their website. The estimated delivery was 35 – 50 minutes, but after 10PM we still hadn’t received it. We called but the restaurant was closed, even though the order was confirmed via email and text. Now I’m hangry and many other places are now also closed so it’s too late to order from somewhere else. GFG.

We ate here last week for the first time. The food was delicious, the portions huge and the prices very reasonable… And the owners and help were so dang nice and appreciative! Can’t wait to go back and try many more items on their menu!

Ordered delivery and although it says 30 min — an hour, it always arrives under 30 minutes! The food is delicious for Korean fast food and they give pretty large portions. It’s a little oily, but for the price and portion it’s an awesome deal. I will definitely continue ordering from them — hoping to stop by the restaurant one day soon!

So i happen to be randomly walking past this establishment and it caught my eye, a korean american diner? huh? well lets stop in and check out this menu! Their super casual diner space offers basic american breakfast items like eggs toast bacon etc to korean rice bowls and noodles. I decided to take out their Bulgogi rice bowl which at $ 11 was a substantial amount of food, both rice and korean thin sliced marinated beef which had a very addictive and balanced sweet, salty, mild garlic/onion flavor. When i got home i ripped open the carry out container and devoured what was inside until i was in a food coma. Next time I’m curious to try their spicy chicken bulgogi… will let you know how it is when i do

Just started working above here, and my coworkers rave about this place. Not only is their selection huge, everything from bibimbop to a burger. And it’s all delicious! Got my first order today, Chop Chae and an eggroll. They were so good and done in half the time they predicted! The portion was great, the seasoning on point, and it was delicious. Also, the woman at the counter is super nice. Please try this place, you won’t be disappointed!

Second time coming here, decided to dine in this time. The lady working cashier and serving was so nice and attentive to whatever we asked. I got the spicy chicken bulgogi and it was amazeballs. It came out on one of those hot plates where it kept cooking. It was piping hot and the perfect amount of spice. They also had kimchi on the side, which was also fresh and tasted great. I had the deep fried chicken meal before and it was good, but the bulgogi was especially delicious. Looking forward to coming again!

Rice N Bread has outstanding Korean food! Everything tasted fresh and was spiced to perfection. The service was great too– friendly and very quick! I had the Bimimbop while my boyfriend had the Bulgagi(thanks to fellow Unilocalers recommendations). Both were so tasty! Perfect on a cold night. And on top of the food being delicious, it’s BYOB so definitely take advantage of that and pick up a bottle of wine on your way over. Definitely recommend!

Yummy is all we got to say! Where in the area and hungry and discovered this hidden gem. I had the Corn-Beef and Hash dish with Sunny Side Up Eggs and Hashbrown and my lady friend had French Toast, Bacon and Hashbrown. Great service and exceptional value. Will definitely come again!

This was an awesome place for a small group outing. We all left feeling a little fatter and happier without having to cry about the price(which happens often). Recommend sharing family style — and definitely getting the appetizers. Everything had great portion sizes. Service was pretty good. The rice cakes(duk bok ki) in spicy sauce were indeed very spice, but also yummy. The veggie twigim was also pretty good as a side with the other dishes. Bulgogi is a MUST. Would definitely come back here, next time hopefully for their breakfast!

Rice ‘n Bread is Korean American diner, and for that, it’s okay. Dine-in and take-out was serviced well. Bibimbop and bulgogi were safe options. I ordered the Dul Dak(Korean fried chicken) for take-out, and it tasted very generic, like chicken tenders smothered with bottled sauce. This is like the equivalent of a corner hot dog stand so there’s really no going wrong, but I find Del Seoul or Crisp to be tastier alternatives.

Haven’t had the chance to dine in yet but ordered delivery via GrubHub early Monday evening. Food came pretty fast, in about a half hour. I got the Pa-Jeon(seafood pancake), Akutagawa with rye toast and white rice and gravy, and Spicy YetCaMein(seafood noodle soup). The pancake was filled with seafood pieces and scallions. Although it needed more batter, it was still yummy. The homemade gravy was delish and the mixture of all the veggies and beef was just comforting. I loved the spicy noodle soup. The spice was actually spicy and sooo satisfying. The noodles were perfectly cooked. Everything just worked very well together, including the seafood and veggies. Great bang for your buck, as portions are very satisfying and prices are definitely affordable. Although it’s not a full on traditional Korean restaurant, I can still get authentic Korean flavors without having to go super north in the city. I actually love the concept and the fusion with American diner food really works here.

On a Saturday afternoon, we strolled in and the place was empty. It’s a Korean diner that I KNOW is buzzing at night because of drunk Wrigleyville/Boystown/Lakeview residents! We sat down and our waitress didn’t look too happy too see me. I like how the menu has pictures AND descriptions of all the dishes. It’s not like I would be able to pronounce them anyway, but a nice touch nonetheless. Intially I was going to have bulgogi but the egg dishes were a bit cheaper and I was picking up my friends tabs. They decided on chicken and pork bulgogi, but I went with their special, Akutagawa which was stir-fried sprouts, eggs, fresh green peppers and onions. I went with chicken there and it came with rye toast which I got dry. Iced tea, coffee, and water were also ordered. Korean waitress did not like to refill waters or coffess, so that’s really why I took a star off. She had the whole«pissed off I am a diner» vibe. I will be back here because of the food, but not that service. For three people in Lakeview a $ 40 tab is a #blessing #unnecessaryhashtags The bathroom is in the kitchen. Yes, in the kitchen. Hilarious!!! They have burgers, too. I’d recommend this to anyone!

Great customer service. Cute space and homey vibe. Convenient location close to Addison-Red and not much further from Southport-Brown. Pricing was a dollar or more than I would have liked to pay for the food — 8 fried mandoo for $ 5.95 seemed like a good deal but they were pretty small and quite possibly frozen from a bag. The spicy YetCaMein($ 8.95) was as spicy as I had hoped for with sweet little shrimp and tender bits of squid. It didn’t seem that salty as I was eating it, but man, was I thirsty afterwards. I would probably go back to give the BulDak people seem to like a try, but only if I already happened to be in the area.

This place was highly recommended by a friend of a friend so came here for dinner. Galbi burger is yummy and comes with a load of fries. TV and wifi is available. They have a high counter with stools that people can sit at. Good for solo or group diners. Short walk from Belmont subway station. Staff is friendly and restroom is clean. Ketchup and Tabasco sauce are available. Seating at the tables closer to the kitchen area felt bit warmer than the ones closer to the door, but the door held slightly ajar so a slight cool breeze flowed through the crack. I would come back to try their other foods!
