I have been to Rocks 5 – 6 times over the past 12 months. The food is overpriced and mediocre. The wait staff is pretty good, the bar tenders seem very indifferent to your satisfaction. A few days ago I filed a food complaint and received a luke warm apology, but no compensation. When you are paying for over priced food and quality is low, it just doesn’t set well. No happy hour either. Revolution and Joe’s on Broadway are much more friendly. Joe’s allows BYOF. Wrigley BBQ is next door. Perfect! In summary, it is not hard to find better alternatives to Rocks.

Great Fish and Chips. Now I can’t decide between Dive Bar or Rock’s for my fish & chips search. This is a fun place to go and I was not let down with the food. The food did take a little longer than we hoped for-but hey, I’m patient. Will go again!

Love this place for dine in an delivery. They have delicious burgers, salads, appetizers and brunch. They also have a great selection of craft beer and whiskey. The service is always excellent. I’ve been there too many times to count and the food and experience has always been great!

Would do a 4.5 if I could. Super fire options without being overwhelmed by the menu. Everything we’ve had here has always been good. A bit pricey if you’re not taking advantage of special deals that they offer, but worth it every time. Also very dog-friendly, which helps bring us back when we want brunch with the pooch.

This place was just«O.K.» for me. I built my own burger(DIY Burger). I chose to get the veggie patty on brioche bread; my toppings were lettuce, cheese, mushrooms, guacamole, and the pineapple corn salsa. It was a very small helping of guacamole that wasn’t good. The patty wasn’t all that great either(but who goes and gets a veggie patty, right? Fine, blame me, but if you’re going to offer a substitute, it should be good). Everything else was just alright. Sweet potato fries were very thin and salty. I found the place a little odd. They card you as you walk in through the front yet I saw some people entering through the other door. It was also mid-day so families were walking in too. How that system works and gets communicated to the server I have no idea. Overall it wasn’t a terrible experience but I’m not crazy about coming back.

Great place to eat cheap. Half off appetizers on Saturday and Sunday after 10. Good bar selection. I love the wings and tater tots. Service could be a little better but isn’t too bad

I came here on a tuesday with a group of 4. clearly a happening night as it’s taco tuesday, half off cocktails and oh the sun finally started to shine and warm chicago up to a nice 80 degrees. needless to say, i dont think this place was ready to handle the surge of people coming outdoors to play. there was 1 bartender working, and our waitress was running around like crazy. thus why i gave this place 3 stars instead of 4. it took forever to get drinks, and it took forever to get food. when the food did come out, it was very tasty! i had a 2×4 with curly fries. my friend had the leroy brown(epic sandwich with pulled pork topped with mac n cheese), and her boyfriend got another type of burger. this place has a lot of fun sides to choose from like buffalo, greek or curly fries. i tried one of their specialty cocktails, a paloma, since they were half off. it was good but i switched over to beer after one. they had an impressive amount of beers both on top and bottled. this place overall had good energy and i could see why my friend recommended it, unfortunately they werent ready to handle the tuesday crowd.

Tried this place out on my visit to Chicago. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. Drinks were pretty good and their menu had just about everything you wanted. It was a very nice open bar and perfect for a Sunday brunch. However I choose lunch ha. Ended up with their famous rocks burger, and while it wasn’t the medium that I ordered it at… It was still very good. My friend and I also spilt the nachos as an appetizer. My favorite thing were the fries ! They were seasoned fantastically! And they had doffwrnt choices of fry styles you could order as your side. I liked the fact they had a diverse set of fries instead of the regular and tater tots.

Some fantastic weekday deals — I went on a Tuesday and there were $ 2 tacos, half off cocktails, and for $ 15 you could get the beer of the month, burger, and pie of the month. Had I wanted a beer and pie, i would’ve been all over that deal in a heartbeat(considering the burgers are $ 11 – 12 you’re basically getting a free beer/pie. Instead got an old fashioned which was done really well — proper bourbon(Woodford Reserve) and big cube of ice, perfect. Rocks is known for the burgers but despite that I went for a chicken sandwich which was fantastic, loaded with great toppings and great flavor. They somehow managed to severely burn the bun but no big deal, sandwich was great. Will try a burger next time. All burgers/sandwiches come with a huge choice for sides and the sides are very plentiful(and very good). Looking forward to going back.

I’ve always loved Rocks and hadn’t been there in some time, but apparently it’s not a good place to get carry out. My sweet potato fries were extremely soggy and the burger was VERYOVERCOOKED. Also, the teriyaki should have been on the side because it made the pretzel roll pretty gross in the 20 minutes before I got home. Super disappointed and was really looking forward to a burger I always loved in the past.

I’ve been here easily 10 – 15 times and figured it was time to write a review. This is my go-to neighborhood bar and if nothing else it’s consistent. Consistently friendly service, quality food and strong drinks. What else could you ask for in a neighborhood bar? Great outdoor seating in the summer and cozy in the winter, I will continue to go back again and again.

This is my go-to neighborhood bar. I need only say three things: (1) Tater tots (2) Stella Artois (3) Italian lights So happy this place is down the block from me. :)

A great neighborhood favorite. My go to is the Castro burger and I like to switch it up between the Greek fries, sweet potato fries, buffalo fries, tots and curly fries. The buffalo chicken wrap is great too!

Last night was my second time here. My fiancé and I were nervous because we were the annoying people who got there 10 minutes before the kitchen closes. I was relieved to see our server, Megan, was the same person we had the first time, because her fantastic service was certainly part of the reason for our return. She was extremely friendly and not at all annoyed by our arrival time, which I would have understood if she had been. Thursdays are 50 cent wings(another reason for our repeat business) and we wanted to order as quick possible. They have a ton of different options for their wings, which Megan was able to recite off without even glancing at the menu. She knew both the food and drinks perfectly, and the wings were delicious! We will definitely be back!

We visited at a weird time on a Monday, so I can’t speak to the atmosphere most will encounter on weekend nights. The burger I had with pineapple and teriyaki, avocado and a little cayenne pepper was great! The sweet potato fries were tasty(and available without an up charge). Looks like a very well-stocked bar with a decent amount of parking meters available in the area.

I have wanted to visit Rocks Lakeview since moving to the neighborhood because they always seem to be extremely busy and the music is always blasting when I walk by. I finally got a chance to visit Rocks Lakeview a few times over the last couple months and my overall impression of them got worse over time. I’ll break this review down in a simple pros and cons list. Pros: — The atmosphere that Rocks Lakeview gives off is great if you want a place where you can control the music(they have a jukebox!) and have a night out with your friends — The presentation of the food and specialized mixed drinks were beautifully done — The servers that I interacted with were extremely friendly and somewhat knowledgeable of the dishes and had great drink recommendations Cons: — Extremely loud even when the place only has a few people inside — I wouldn’t recommend this place for a date night if you guys are still trying to get to know each other because the noise volume isn’t ideal for conversations — The food is not too memorable and they couldn’t get a simple buffalo chicken wrap correct(it was extremely dry and my friend had to order a side of sauce to choke down the wrap) Overall: This place was great when I was out with friends and only grabbed a drink but when I switched it up for a date and actually tried the food I was disappointed.

So my friend warned me before we came here that their burgers are good, but their service can be shotty. She spoke the truth. We were hungry. It was nice out. We were walking around. In comes Rocks. We stopped inside for a moment while we waited for a table outside(there are not many). It was so loud! It was only about noon on a Saturday. I don’t know why the music was cranked up. Not my scene. Anyway, outside was much quieter. The menu is impressive. All of the burgers sound great, they have a variety of sides and sauces, and it all is delicious. None of us complained about our food. It was packed full of flavor and I inhaled every last bit. I do wish that it was a little more rare, but it was edible. They also have a good beer menu. However, the service is just alright at best. We waited a long time for our server to come to the table(to the point where we thought about leaving). After that she stopped by a few times, and it improved. I’m just not sure why we had to wait so long.

Love this place for three reasons: 1. They are on the Spring Rewards program. Most of the time that we come here, we can buy a deal of some kind or they have a promotion going on. 2. Great food and great portions to share with people. 3. Their mimosa cocktail with a shot of Gran Marnier hits the spot for brunch.
