I loved this place! We were staying at a hotel nearby and was looking for a dive bar. Was told this is a good place to go. When we showed up we were met by a nice fella who was checking IDs and also helped us on how the bar works. You pick your own beer from a large set of refrigerators then bring it up to the bartenders. We planned on stopping for just one beer and we ended up staying for a few hrs. Met a lot of nice people and loved the huge selection of beers. Highly recommend this place!

Rossi’s is a tiny dive bar in River North. It has a small neighborhood bar feel in the midst of downtown, which is pretty cool. The bartenders and the regulars are all very nice. From what I can remember the prices weren’t bad for the neighborhood, although it is cash only. I’m not a fan of cash only, but some might consider that a plus.

Loved this place. Stayed at Trump hotel and this was a stark contrast to the opulent hotel. Cheap, strong drinks with friendly service. Bring cash.

Get a taste of unfiltered Chicago! Leave your pretentiousness at the door and enjoy a $ 4 draft beer, coctail, or just sit back and people watch. Laid back environment and friendly people. Shout out to Frank and the foot model from Boston for making the experience!

First bar I went to on my mini vacation to Chicago. Super divey and great music. The beers were pretty cheap and the bartender was the coolest guy in the world. They also have a good amount of beers to pick from in the fridge.

Thanks my fellow Unilocalers! Great find on State street in downtown«Chi-town»! Loved the friendliness of the staff and patrons! Felt like we all knew each other! Juke box had«Fatty Wap»! Awesome red wine(Pinot Noir). Friend had a local beer, The Green Line Pale Ale, which was good. Prices are super cheap. Beer and wine totaled $ 9.50. Will definitely visit again when in town.

I think the owner is on crack! The pours are week and the prices are the same as other upscale establishments in the neighborhood. If your going to charge the same price as your competitors, you should look into accepting credit cards like the rest of them. P. S. get rid of your bubble screen t.v. and catch up with the times.

My BF and I travel a lot and love to stop in the local dive bars. I found this place on Unilocal and we were not disappointed!!! This is like walking into our hometown bar. It was cheap, dark and the digital jukebox was playing metal! It is in the middle of everything and unlike them all! It was awesome! If you love dive bars, this place is a must.

Extremely crowded. We waited 5 minutes and never got to order a beer. We left and went to Snicker’s.

Rossi’s is the best dive bar in river north area. It might even be the only one. I went recently after the bears game because i didn’t think we were dressed appropriately for any other bars. We drank so much and it didn’t break the bank like $ 12 cocktails at all the other bars in the area. The bartender made drink recommendations that were probably great but we were 3 sheets to the wind before we even walked in so they were lost on us in terms of quality. Not sure if dancing is approved or not in there but we were dancing to PONY — GINUWINE on the touchtunes and the bartender shouted to the door guy«THEYWENTTOTHEGAME!» by way of explanation for the dancing.

Exactly everything you would want from a dive bar — low prices, a short wait, friendly staff. It’s a perfect place to catch up with your friends — cheaply and non-formally. Drinks: For a dive bar, it has a decent selection of bottled/canned beers, including a large fridge of a unique beers to choose from and are often sold as a special. Most drinks will be around $ 5-$ 7. Environment: It’s pretty small with only a few tables, so it fills up pretty easily. It is extremely decorated in the typical dingy dive bar sort. Basically looks like what you would expect, just small. Service: Very friendly and attentive bartenders, willing to tell you a little about the beers. Because it is a small joint, the wait time for your drink it very quick.

Apparently every bar in this town serves tiny drafts. So when you think you’ve found a bargain because the taps are $ 5, keep in mind you’ll get a thimble full of brew. So order three or for at a time if you can, and bring a LOT of cash. Oh yeah, they’re cash-only.

Great small local bar atmosphere! Great prices & the bartender was great! Beer was cold! We’ll stop by whenever we’re in Chi-town.

LOVEIT! We walked in and were warmly greeted with jokes by the doorman with the silver ponytail. Drinks are cheap though a tad small but I’m not complaining. The crowd is really friendly ranging from 30 — 60. Feels very neighborhoody even though it’s in River North. My only complaints are that the bartenders have no sense of urgency even with lots of people waiting for drinks and that Rossi’s isn’t big enough!

Nice dive bar. Had a decent bottle selection. They were open on Xmas so we went in for a drink. It was pretty popular as it was pretty packed at 3pm. They had tall boy PBRs for 3.50 so that was nice.

Classic dive bar. This is not a big bar at all. You could probably get 30 people in there at once. When you walk in, the bar is to your right with four or five small tables on the opposite wall. There’s a jukebox and when I was in the music was an amazing mix. I’m not sure if that was one of the patrons or if it was a mix by one of the bar tenders but it was pretty fantastic. There’s a big beer selection but that’s really all the info I have on this little place. There wasn’t much for me to write home about. It was fun and a great little dive. I don’t know if I would seek it out, but if you’re walking by it’s worth stopping in for a beer.

One of the weirdest ‘bars’ I have ever been to. Is it a bar? A liquor store? A deli? I don’t know but I know that you can buy bottles of liquor here that you cannot consume on premises. Something weird like that! It’s a dive and feels like you are in a hole in the wall in the middle of the country, far far away from a city.

Classic dive bar! I love this place! It’s small, dark, and friendly! The regulars are welcoming. Make sure you have cash because they don’t take credit cards. You will also need cash for a rocking jukebox, darts, and bowling. The bartender pours a mean drink and they have a large beer selection. It was such a great find! We will be back!
