I called and order carry out like 20 minutes before and when I came the is no customer but my food still not ready yet… I still have to wait like 5 minutes more. It takes that long and My order’s still missing steam pork cake. It’s pricey too. This is my first time and my last time too.

We were in the mood to try some crawfish and by recommendation we were told this place has some of the best crawfish. We ordered the crawfish and it was amazing. Especially the butter garlic crawfish. Highly recommended if you like spicy seafood. The service was ok. We had to call the waitress rather than her checking up on us but she was at reach so we didn’t have to wait long or try hard to get her attention. The fried rice we have had better so we don’t recommend it. Overall good experience and good crawfish.

Good food, decent prices, usually not too busy so we always get seats and get served right away. The Viet ice coffee is a bit expensive $ 4.50 but the phở is delicious and priced at $ 8.50 for a huge bowl. Good service and clean modern space!

Came here by mistake since the place I was going to was closed. We ordered the combination fried rice that was really tasty, we ordered the combination Phõ which had plenty or tripe and meat and noodles galore. I will come here again and try more things on the menu. Great food and great service.

AMAZING crawfish! I love their sauces, my favorite is the combo. A little buttery but its delicious! I have tried their rice dish and phở as well. I always enjoy coming here during a game, place where you can sit and watch the game with good company.

The good people of Saigon Bistro are not kidding around with the freshness of their crawfish — at $ 13.99/lb the night we went compared to $ 9.99/lb for frozen, we decide to go for it. We went«all-in» on the sauce, getting a mix of tamarind, butter-garlic, spicy cajun, and maybe one other flavor? It was orange and yellow with slivers of pineapple and utterly delicious on these sweet crawfish with shells so thin that I ended up eating some whole without peeling. Saigon Bistro also had an excellent brand of soymilk — Yeo’s — and a decent selection of beer. Most disappointing dish were the duck egg rolls that have shrunk dramatically since the last time Unilocalers posted photos. They were still filled with delicious roast duck but they were at best the size of a smaller thumb. Phở was alright but nothing special. Come for the seafood.

It’s a must try if you are a crawfish fan. I used to go there at least once a month but we’re trying to be adventurous and try different places. We used to order the Bo La Lot– beef rolled in herbal leaves with fresh herbs rolled in spring rolls. They were delicious. My daughters loved the butter garlic crawfish! Each time we ordered the crawfish, I always wondered where they get the crawfish from because they’re huge, even when it’s not crawfish season; the owner has a couple of live ones that he keeps as pets. They remind me of Homer Simpson’s ‘pinchy’ – a baby lobster that he bought at a cheaper price, fed it bacon, watched it grow into an oversized lobster, accidentally gave it a warm bath, and ended up eating it all by himself because, «Pinchy would want it that way.» If you like deep fried or steamed fish spring rolls, deliciously marinated crabs and crawfish, And some good ol’ fashion Vietnamese coffee, I would highly recommend. Just don’t order the phở(oddly flavored), calamari(bland), and lemongrass chicken sauté(salty). Besides those dishes, it’s totally worth the visit!

Awesome phở, solid bahn mi, and they have tiger beer to wash it all down. Can’t wait to come back again and tackle the sea food platters

I FINALLY got to try this place, it’s super out of my way but we took on the drive! We ordered the coconut chicken and fried calamari as our appetizers, both were very good & the crunch to both were perfect! I also ordered the shrimp fried rice, salt&pepper shrimp and a pound of the crawfish. I wasn’t a fan of the rice but my boyfriend loved it, it was salty and the flavors just did not work for me. The salt&pepper shrimp were delicious! The shrimp were huge and seasoned perfectly! Finally the famous crawfish, my expectations were very high for this dish and let me tell you that it does not disappoint! That sauce!!!

Good food and huge portions! The price is average. Downside; the crawfish there was big but they don’t give I must. It’s weighed by lb so the we’re paying for the shell!

Originally came here to try the shellfish, but no one else was eating crawfish or shrimp when we came in. Besides, the menu said it was frozen, not fresh. We will just get our fix at The Boiler in Skokie. Ate phở, bahn mi, rice plates, and a noodle plate. See photos. Kept comparing everything to our favorite King Phở. The bahn mi is smaller here and does not come with fries. The phở and noodle plates were comparable. Our biggest issue was all the fat and gristle in the pork chops and the BBQ pork. It was not a pleasant experience spitting out chunks of inedible meat in front of our dining companions. The«grilled steak» did not have much fat, but it was more like a marinated beef. Hardly what we would call steak. The duck rolls everyone else raved about were indeed tasty, but they were smaller than my thumb. An order of 6 pieces was $ 5.95, so after tax and tip over a dollar each. Not worth it, IMHO. No issues with the service, but we went between lunch and dinner and it was completely empty other than us. Might be willing to come back to try other types of phở, but would skip the pork chops, duck rolls, and bahn mi.

I was not really expecting that much. And they blew my expectations out of the water. I’m not going to go into a long write-up. Instead, I’ve posted photos so that you will know I was a satisfied customer. We had the appetizer combo: crab rangoon with real crab, coconut shrimp, coconut chicken, bacon-wrapped scallops, and mini egg rolls. We also had king crab and tamarind shrimp. And the finale was the crawfish boil: crawfish, corn, and sausage in the spicy butter garlic sauce. Oh, my friend who joined me was also quite filled and happy after we were done.

This place is pretty darn good. I went during crawfish season and well, the crawfish weren’t good. I’m a Louisiana girl, so I am hard to please. They were fresh. They fly them in daily from Louisiana, but you don’t want to eat a mud bug with no flavor because then it just tastes like a muddy bug! All of the flavoring, unfortunately, is on the outside, not within. But everything else that’s actually Vietnamese food was delicious! We also ordered the papaya salad, Banh Xeo, egg rolls, Banh Mi, and spring rolls, and enjoyed it all. Everything was fresh, yummy, and the presentation was really nice. One of the better Vietnamese restaurants out of most in Chicago.

We ordered the banh xeo, combination fried rice, and crawfish. Pros: The banh xeo and combo fried rice was really good! The crawfish flavor seasoning was really good too. The smoothie tasted swell. The service was amazing. The guy was working by himself after the lady greeted and sat us. She left after. Friendly guy. No complaints when we asked for a million things. Cons: The only bad thing is that the crawfish itself was bland. So if you’re a true crawfish eater, you probably wouldn’t like it. The seasoning is only on top of the shell. We ordered the buy 5 get 1 free, and it came with two crabs on top of each plates. I wouldn’t get the crawfish again, but everything else was excellent.

Best crawfish ever! There’s no other place I want to go for crawfish or I did but it’s just not as good as this little gem in West Rogers Park. It’s convenient that they had their own parking lot but it’s so small. Still have to try what else this place has to offer but so far so good!

The quality of my go to phở places in the Chicagoland area has slowly gone down and the prices have increased. I wouldn’t have minded if the quality of the food was the same, but they were skimping on ingredients and the broth wasn’t on par. This resulted in the hunt for a place that serves a good bowl of phở. Finally, I had a chance to try out Saigon Bistro with my sister since we were in the neighborhood. It is located in a small plaza where shared parking is available. Be careful, the parking lot is always bustling and the spots are a tad tight. I was pleasantly surprised with the interior of the restaurant: modern and clean. I’m sorry to report, but most Vietnamese restaurants are kind of gloomy and dingy. For food, we shared an order of crab rangoons and had a bowl of phở each. The wonton was fried to a crispy exterior and the filling had a good proportion of cream cheese and crab meat. Overall, texture and flavor was spot on. For phở, I ordered phở with meatballs and rare beef. The bowl of noodles was huge and full of noodles and meat. The flavor of the broth was decent, but it isn’t as bold as I would have liked it. Either way, it is still much better than many other places I have been. The only complaint I have is the service is kind of slow. The wait staff is genuinely nice, but the food took a while to arrive and they aren’t the most attentive folks. When we were done eating, we couldn’t get anyone to give us the check. It took almost 20 mins for someone to even acknowledge us. Overall, the food here is good and decently priced. Also, the entrees are definitely on the larger end(except for their rice dishes). Saigon Bistro just needs a more attentive wait staff. But if you have time to waste, the food definitely compensates for the slow service.
